20.01.2022 We are excited to launch our first on-campus event for Semester 2, 2020. Due to the pandemic, our team was not able to be as active as we wished. However, in the coming days, we are planning to organize several events that would help our fellow Information Technology and Computer Science students t network and learn for Industry Leaders. The first event is an Information Session on Australian Computer Society (ACS) on 12pm 15th September, Location CDU Blue 5.1.1 by Lucia Gerr...ie (ACS NT Branch Manager). Through the session, Lucia will try to answer some of our most burning questions. 1. What is ACS? 2. Should I join ACS? 3. What are the benefits of ACS? 4. Is it too late or early to join ACS? *Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we were only able to accommodate 22 people in the auditorium. Therefore, we are planning to run a Zoom session as well so that everyone who could not make it into the session could join. 16.01.2022 I know there are some Territorians who have wanted to come home in the past few months, but chose not to because of the cost or the inconvenience of the quarant...ine rules. I know this has been the case for a lot of parents who wanted to bring their kids home from uni or boarding school for the holidays, but couldn’t. This has been really tough for many families. Heartbreaking. And I’m sorry you’ve had to go through it, but you know why we had to do it. I’ve spoken to plenty of parents who missed out on seeing their kids over Easter, and really want them home for the next break. So this is for you. You can bring your kids home. From Monday 15 June, arrivals from interstate will transition from mandatory, monitored quarantine to mandatory, self-quarantine. That means you will no longer be forced to stay in a hotel that is selected by us and secured by us. And there will no longer be a $2500 bill for your quarantine. Arrivals from interstate will be able to choose their own quarantine arrangements as long as it is appropriate, within the guidelines directed by the Chief Health Officer. If you’re Territorian at home. If you’re a visitor in a hotel, or something similar. Compliance checks will still take place, as well as two mandatory COVID-19 tests within the first 72 hours and last 72 hours of self-quarantine. This change will not apply to people arriving from overseas, including overseas arrivals transiting from interstate. Thank you for helping us keep the Territory the safest place in the country. I will keep doing whatever it takes to save Territory lives, and to save Territory jobs. #territorytogether
