We delay, ignore or sacrifice things that we really love because of the way we were raised. It is never too late to make your own decisions and choose your own path. If you were told as a child that you were terrible at maths, a daydreamer, hyperactive, lazy, shy, loud, can’t sit still, etc. you might have subconsciously shaped your life with these words in mind and ignored ...your true path. A partner might have unintentionally influenced you to stay home, to postpone that degree you really wanted, or to ignore that fabulous job offer that you dreamt of... Oh, well maybe next time... Your surroundings growing up might have been uncomfortable at best, violent at worst. Witnessing abuse, racism, homophobia or any discriminative behavior could have transformed you into a reserved and scared shell of yourself, or made you angry and restless. 03.01.2022 My favourite tools... These are the tools I couldn’t leave without. Shops are full of measuring tapes, scissors, chalks, etc... but each one of these items has a characteristic which makes it irreplaceable. The scissors have a tiny blunt spot on the bottom blade from when I accidently dropped them, and which never disappeared despite sharpening them professionally. The tape measure is stiffer than the usual ones and is missing the end clasp. (Modern measuring tapes sometimes ...have the numbers starting after the metal end, making them inaccurate, as we generally measure from the end of the tape, not the number 0) The bee’s wax trick is life changing and was introduced to me by a dear friend in the trade. When you run your thread through the grooves, it stops it twisting and getting tangled. What is YOUR favourite tool?
