25.01.2022 To keep everyone safe during this time - Celebrate Recovery Frankston will not be running this Sunday until further notice. 25.01.2022 Prayer for Serenity God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can,... and the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardship as a pathway to peace; taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that You will make all things right if I surrender to Your will; so that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with You forever in the next. Amen. Reinhold Niebuhr

23.01.2022 Received this in an email today

21.01.2022 THOUGHT THIS WAS WORTH SHARING .... THERE IS LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL This came from a teacher in China who has been there since the start of the crisis, and is well worth a read: ... "It has been a while since my last post when we were in 'lock-down' in China and since I've had a few emails recently, I think it's probably time to update everyone. We are just finishing our 7th week of E-Learning, seven weeks of being mainly housebound and seven weeks of uncertainty. We are healthy, we are happy, and we are humbled. We are allowed to move around freely now with a green QR code that we show when we get our temperature taken. You get your temperature taken everywhere, and it's just become part of the routine. Most restaurants and shopping centres are now open, and life is coming back to our city. As we watch the rest of the world begin their time inside; here are some of my reflections on the last seven weeks: 1. Accept that you have no control over the situation. Let go of any thoughts of trying to plan too much for the next month or two. Things change so fast. Don't be angry and annoyed at the system. Anxiety goes down, and you make the best of the situation - whatever that might be for you. Accept that this is what it is and things will get easier. 2. Try not to listen to/read/watch too much media. It WILL drive you crazy. There is a thing as too much! 3. The sense of community I have felt during this time is incredible. I could choose who I wanted to spend my energy on - who I wanted to call, message and connect with and found the quality of my relationships has improved. 4. Appreciate this enforced downtime. When do you ever have time like this? I will miss it when we go back to the fast-paced speed of the 'real world'. 5. Time goes fast. I still haven't picked up the ukelele I planned to learn, and there are box set TV shows I haven't yet watched. 6. As a teacher, the relationships I have built with my students have only continued to grow. I have loved seeing how independent they are; filming themselves to respond to tasks while also learning essential life skills such as balance, risk-taking and problem-solving, that even we as adults are still learning. 7. You learn to appreciate the little things; sunshine through the window, flowers blossoming and being able to enjoy a coffee in a cafe. To those just beginning this journey, You will get through it. Listen to what you are told, follow the rules and look out for each other. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

20.01.2022 This Sunday at 3pm is Lesson 12 Confess. Such a freeing lesson! A chain breaking lesson! When we openly examine and confess our faults to ourselves, God and to someone we trust - we break the chains that have bound us!!! Newcomers always welcome.

19.01.2022 Cant believe our time in Kigali, Rwanda is almost over. The bond of relationships shaped this week will live forever. This marks a beginning of Celebrate Recov...ery in this country literally in the of Africa! Little did I realize years ago when I too was stuck in my addiction God could use my failures this way, God never waste a hurt! These pastors are stepping out on faith for a better life for their churches and the struggles of pain that are locked up in the hearts from the past experiences of so much pain, loss, death. Celebrate Recovery is a tool they have chosen and the journey has begun. Please pray for our forever family in Rwanda and all of Africa! #foreverfamily #celebraterecovery #thepeaceplan #hopeformentalhealth See more

07.01.2022 A definition of co-dependency is when a persons need for approval or validation from another person allows them to be controlled or manipulated. They are willi...ng to compromise their own values, choices, and behavior at the expense of their personal well-being. What could help is to learn to recognize and enforce healthy boundaries that accurately establish where you end and another person begins... not allowing others to compromise those boundaries. We want to partner with you at Celebrate Recovery to help you live in Gods love and experience life to its fullest. Visit Celebraterecovery.com to find a location or a CR one day training nearest to you.
