25.01.2022 What a day for a wedding!! Melbourne has turned on perfect weather, and I’ve just created beautiful new vow cards for my couples. They’ll look great in photos whilst my lovebirds are exchanging the promises they have written for each other.

20.01.2022 You’ve dreamed of getting married, you’ve even planned your date, booked your venue, researched your wedding vendors, and started to look for your dress. You’ve dreamed of the moment you’ll be standing there, next to your life partner, whispering those words of love as you greet each other with a gentle kiss, proudly share your vows with each other, and later, head to your party as a married couple. And then Covid got in the way.... So my advice to you is this keep dreaming. Don’t give up on your dream. It may change a little, it may change a lot. You might have a small wedding as soon as we are out of lockdown here in Melbourne, and a brilliant wedding party later. You might have your full ceremony with a magnificent story that captures your love and all those great memories you have created now, and a special gathering with your friends whenever you can. You might have a happy, funny, perfect ceremony now just the two of you, your best friends as your witnesses, your celebrant . And it’ll be full of love, joy, and happiness as you capture the moment that you will both remember for the rest of your life. Ahhh. Imagine the stories you will tell. 18.01.2022 This last week has been so full of sadness, loss, grief and pain due to the fires on the east coast of Australia, and Steve and I thought it would be great to help out the local community that we are so close to the people of Lakes Entrance. Our son and his family, our parents and our sister and her families all live there, and took the advice of the local authorities and evacuated last week. They’ve all returned home and are safe and sound. We’ve decided to donate $50 for every ceremony booked during January, 2020 to the local community in Lakes Entrance area. We’ll donate in the form of some gift vouchers to some families that have been affected by the fires. I’ll keep you posted to what the final amount is at the end of this month.

13.01.2022 Happy 1st anniversary to the groom who serenaded his beautiful new wife during his personal wedding vows in the little chapel at Potters Receptions. Wow! What a wedding! It was so romantic, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Congratulations to Violet and Danny on their first wedding anniversary. And thanks for asking me to be your MC too. I loved every minute of it.

10.01.2022 Can’t believe it’s two years since Alex and Jamie were married. Travelling on a holiday from England, they planned to elope whilst away, and were married just near Captain Cook’s Cottage in the Fitzroy Gardens. It was such a personal elopement, just Alex and Jamie, their friend who was their witness, and their photographer - Renee Emma Photography, who not only took brilliant photos, but was their witness as well. Elopements are so special. They are full of love, and highly charged with emotion. It is such a personal and precious moment for the couple. Thanks Alex and Jamie for giving me the honour of marrying you.

09.01.2022 It’s not very often you can say as a Celebrant that you married your daughter, but that’s exactly what happened this weekend. Sarah our beautiful daughter married the man of her dreams, Jimmy. Oh what a thrill it was - being a celebrant is absolutely amazing. Their vows were perfect and so full of love and laughter, their twin boys were sooo cute, and the energy of the day blew us all away. Wow. What a ceremony and what an amazing party afterwards. So proud of you Mr and Mrs Kellett. Love you both.

I love watching your families and friends come together, seeing their anticipation and shivers of excitement as they gather together to watch you get married.... I love greeting each of you before the ceremony starts, making sure you feel OK, and to reassure you that your partner is excited, ready, and busting to see you. I love sharing the words we’ve written together. Telling your story, creating laughter and fun as we weave all the pieces of it together, seeing the smiles and tears on your guests' faces. Nothing gives me a greater buzz than saying those magical words that marry you legally, except of course hearing your amazing vows, that you have written for each other and knowing the love that sits behind them. Then I send the first draft off. And I wait, and I wait ..... with bated breathe for that first bit of feedback to come back. 01.01.2022 Congratulations Liz and Jawid on your marriage yesterday. liz called me on Friday at 1pm to say the registry office had just cancelled all their weddings effective 3pm that day. They were due to be married on Monday afternoon!! So, we transferred all legal documents and they were married yesterday at 1pm in their front garden with mum and dad as witnesses. And yes, they’ve got each other’s back!! . A heart for each of the people who were lucky enough to be at their ceremony. Liz, Jawid, Liz’s mum and dad who were their witnesses, and me! Such a romantic and full of love wedding. Congrats to you both.
