18.01.2022 HANDSTAND HOT TIP Whether you invert from a pike, straddle or kick up, focus on the hips lifting up and not the legs or feet. The pelvis is the heaviest point to bring into alignment. 08.01.2022 LONG BACK STRETCH is a workout for the entire body and finally after plenty of practice, today during my lesson with @cynthialochard_pilates this exercise felt freeing and it flowed. My entire body moved with smoothment and i didnt even grip my toes over the shoulder blocks. Some days are better than others in regards to my Pilates practice, as in life of course. Today, I can honestly say that executing the #longbackstretch felt empowering and effortless. 02.01.2022 Dont just SHOULDER on.....meet Steve Jones, my hubby. He is a movement specialist extraordinaire, so due to the fact that us Victorians are still in lockdown I put him to good use yesterday and asked him to eyeball my chest expansion on the Ped-O-Pull. Rolling back the shoulders (imagining they are tennis externally rotating) really assists with the softening of the upper traps and gave my head turn way more range. The name of the exercise then truly took on its meaning... and my chest was able to open more. 01.01.2022 Today is a day of reflection and honoring my pilates teacher. It has been 7 years since she has passed and so much has happened since then in the pilates commun...ity. She says so much which is relevant to all teachers today. Teachers can still learn and become an amazing pilates teacher and equal to those who did without having to have studied directly with her, It's through those who share their experiences and the information that she imparted to her students and through the work she helped develop in her lifetime that they can . THE PILATES SOURCE will continue to share and promote your work and history in the pilates community. It is clear without it Joe's work would not have survived and so many thousands of teachers would not have the livelihood that they have today. Thank you Romana for all that you did and your dedication to Joe's work.

The reverse 100 (as I call it) done here on the Cadillac using the strap to hold down the feet to stabilise her lower body, assists Hayley to focus solely on her arm and back connection. Hayley Galizi was born with Achondroplasia, hence the necessity to play and create variations to Joe’s work to suit her proportions. So proud of this gal and her determination and dedication to the method.
