22.01.2022 Good morning All! Today we will be making Manti from scratch... handmade pasta that is sautéed in a garlic yoghurt, sweet paprika, mint & olive oil hot sauce yum!! Here is chef Ece preparing the doe for the coming crew to make. We need at least 4 people to make this amazing pasta. My mum and auntie will be joining us soon, so come in and try our Manti... 22.01.2022 A short love story 21 July 2003, the beginning - 13th February 2015, the end I remember looking through the front windows of Celini’s Café & Restaurant back in 2003 and thinking WOW, I want this place That’s all it took for me, one look, no questions, no trial, no anything, just one look. Within a couple of weeks I was given the keys to this wonderful establishment and my journey began. I have to admit it was tough at the beginning. But I was young, fearless and determined... to make it work. By the end of the 2nd year I realised that I had to make drastic changes or would have to close the doors back then. I look at those days and think how lucky I was to survive. I had a great team who backed me up and my family forever always supportive. This is how I survived, elhamdurillah There were years of great success, happy days, sadness, changes, new faces, people, stories and life experiences. I have met some wonderful people over the years and this is what I’m taking with me today. My friendships and life experiences. I use to think it was the building that was special, but it’s not It’s the people. Thank you all for being a part of my life and giving me the opportunity to grow with you. Today is my last day here at Celini’s. I apologise for the late notice everyone but honestly the decision was made this Monday and since then I have been cleaning and packing up the Café. I wish I had a chance to say goodbye personally to all of you face to face but I will be handing over the keys in the next couple of hours. 21.01.2022 To my fellow Australians, It is said that 'something good always comes out of something bad'. I wish I didn't have to use this statement with regards to the devestating situation that occured at Martin Place yesterday. I cannot explain the deep sadness I felt when I was told the news at work. I was in the best of moods being a Monday morning and so grateful for everything that Allah has given me and my family that the news just crushed me. I was born and raised in this wonder...ful country and am proud to call myself and Australian/Turkish Muslim. My parents came here in 1970 with dreams and had many struggles along the way with learning and adapting to the Australian life. Along with many other migrants they worked hard and had families. We have been living in this country for decades now in peace and built lives here, had kids here, made wonderful friends here, integrated, loved, shared and became one here... Unfortunately with the actions of one man I feel we are back to square one. Yet I was wrong! yes 'something good always comes out of something bad'. A wonderful fellow Australian started a tweet yesterday IllrideWithYou and so many fellow Australians hopped on and followed suit. I honestly have tears in my eyes right now as I am writing this. Because YES we will not be targeted and crushed by one man who honestly has no idea. We will overcome this sad and devastating situation as one, because that is the Australian way! Thank you for your love and support! No words can take away the innocent lives that were lost during the seige. My deepest condolonces to the families who had to endure the long wait for a resolution to only be faced with the sad news. I pray you will find peace and love within your heart. 07.01.2022 Finished and ready to eat:)) after a long day the crew enjoyed the amazing Manti with home style corn bread and black cabbage casserole with pickled vegetables. Seriously YUM. My son made it right on time and loved the Turkish food... Thank you again for all your help ladies, love you heaps :))

07.01.2022 My generation (born in the 70's) would remember the word WOG very well. It was once used as a deragatory word for all people from an ethnic background. We use t...o be very offended when someone would call us a WOG or 'bloody wog'. Then some smart individual thought of a way to turn this word into something to be proud of and came up with the statement 'WOGS DO IT BETTER' and had this printed on t-shirts. Before you knew it, everyone that was considered a WOG starting wearing this t-shirt with pride. Then it went on to t-shirts printed with 'TURKS DO IT BETTER', 'LEBOS DO IT BETTER', 'ITALIANS DO IT BETTER', 'GREEKS DO IT BETTER' and so on. It got better after that Nick from Acropolis Now created the comedy show 'WOGS OUT OF WORK' AND BAM the word WOG became a popular funny good word spoken by everyone with pride. I would love to do something with the word 'MUSLIM' This word is a sacred word meaning one who submits to God. At the moment the word 'MUSLIM' is being used very loosely by people in general and the Media. So loosely that every time something bad happens by a person/group who's faith is in ISLAM the Muslim population of the world of 1.6 billion people are labelled and placed in the same box. How can we change this? do we have to suffer discrimination again to overcome the ignorance and hatred. WHat about the LOVE & PEACE displayed in the 70's. I say bring back the 'FLOWER POWER', 'IMAGINE ALL THE PEOPLE, LIVING LIFE IN PEACE', 'I HAD A DREAM!' (Martin Luther King), GANDHI, RUMI. Do more people have to die? Do more tears have to be shed? This ignorance and hatred has finally reached our shores people. Until now we were following the devastation, murder and annihilation of innocents all over the world on T.V. Please let's come together and change the meaning of this word in people's minds. Every time 'MUSLIM' is splashed in the media or social network a negative belief is subliminally formed in the sub-conscious minds of the ones who associate 'MUSLIM' with any other meaning other than 'One who submits to God'. Help me come up with a great way to change the ideology of this word into what it really means. #MUSLIM. WITH LOVE

Christmas and New Years is coming up with family & friends getting together to celebrate! Celini's is offering our most popular 9 course degustation @ $35 per person. This menu has our most popular dishes all in one, so act early and book a table! I would be happy to forward the menu.... We are only closed on Christmas day the 25th, the evening of the 27th, New years day the 1st and the evening of the 2nd. Other than these dates we are open as usual.
