11.01.2022 TANK PIT PROPS and LOCAL SUPPORT We needed to dig a hole a big one. One of the first obstacles to be overcome in constructing the Splash Pad at Rotary Park in ...Wongaling, was finding a way to support the surrounding area, where the footpaths run, during the excavation of a large pit to house the 20,000 litre concrete water tank. Once again, our local heroes came to the rescue. Our thanks go to Dennis Daly (Fishin’ Mission) who reached out to LDI Constructions for the loan of some sheet piles; to Michael Griffiths for organising the banging-in machine from CCUC; To Les and Judy Blennerhassett of Blenners Transport for the great price on the excavator used to lift the sheet piles into place; and to Michael Johnson of Mager Constructions, the project’s prime contractor. That’s Michael you can see in the short video below, in the cage on the end of his crane, supervising correct installation of the sheet piles.
