25.01.2022 Hi CML members. Well, that wraps up Season 2015. Congratulations to everyone for seeing it all out. It was a difficult season in many ways but also a rewarding one for many. Just as last season was the year of Allan K, this season was undoubtedly the season of Bill Heinemann who conquered the conditions like no other this year. Congrats there. Many thanks to our newest members, Kelly and Stewart Moore, Scott Melbourne, Diane Palmer & Jeanine Brittain, and Rhys & Brandon Ma...nley for helping make the League stronger and more enjoyable than it would otherwise be without them. Leagues rely heavily on an influx of new bowlers and I am always stoked when I see the enjoyment of league bowling on their faces. And of course many thanks to the stalwarts of our League, the people who come week after week, year after year. Wed be nothing without you guys either. Thanks also to Jason and Bill who have donated considerable time and money into making this League better and better. You guys are the best! No bowling for the next two weeks and then Presentation will be on Monday, October 12. Pizza and drinkies at La Porchetta from 6:00 and then well adjourn to the Bowl for Presentation at 7:15. The new season will commence the following week on Monday October 19. Anyone making any changes to their existing team, be it team name or players, etc, please let me know as soon as you can so I can have it all organised by Week 1. Cheers, Randal

24.01.2022 LEAGUE UPDATE FOR WEEK 10 Hi and welcome back to our season after the Xmas break. Id like to welcome Diane, Jeanine, Scott and Geoff to the league; the more the merrier :)... Our Ladder leaders Jack & Bill got brought back to earth last night with a 16-0 drubbing at the hands of The X Factor. Up Da Gutz profited greatly from this, moving to the top of the ladder with their own 16-0 pasting of Moore Chuckers. Shake & Bake gave On The Piste a 16-0 caning as well, bumping them up to 4th. The Ladder 1. UP DA GUTZ (16) 116 2. WENTUPDAHILL (0) 111 3. BALL TEARERS (10) 97 4. SHAKE & BAKE (16) 96 5. EVOLUTION (5) 94 6. VENI VIDI BOWLI (10) 92 *** *** *** *** *** *** Bowler of the week was Allan Hong with a 102 over average series of 546, including a 68 over av game of 216. This just slightly overshadows Ben Dunns 580 series - only 67 over av. Ben got this weeks high game of 230, 59 over av. *** *** *** *** *** *** It was an interesting night for Splits. Commiserations go out to: Geoff Smith 9 Allan Kavanagh 9 Rees Pearse 8 Scott Melbourne 8 Tough luck guys... *** *** *** *** *** *** More to come :)

23.01.2022 LEAGUE UPDATE for WEEK 17 Well, Week 17 was a no-holds-barred rootin'-tootin' free-for-all with very few prisoners taken... (sorry, that's all the clichés I can think of for now...) 2nd & 3rd placed UP DA GUTZ and WELL HONG both got 17 points and have swamped Ladder Leaders WENTUPDAHILL who got belted by a red-hot Geoff Cosgrove in his team NO F IN STRIKES. Geoff takes the lead on the High Series Scratch with a terrific 597 series. Best feel-good story of the week though is... about Stewart and Kelly Moore. After an inauspicious start, Stewart got his mojo working in Game 2 and belted out a 69-over-av 178 game, his best to date. Not to be outdone, Kelly responded with her own PB, a 73-over-av 186 game! Needless to say, their opposition, EVOLUTION, were at a loss for words and are considering taking up darts ;) We've had our first Drawn Series for the season, with X FACTOR and GETTIN' HITCHED drawing 1138 each. Tense stuff! Ladder 1. WENTUPDAHILL (6) 184 2. UP DA GUTZ (17) 184 3. WELL HONG (17) 181 4. BALL TEARERS (11) 171 5. VENI VIDI BOWLI (11) 160 6. The X FACTOR (11) 159 *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** ALL-IN DESIGNS MEN'S HEAD-TO-HEAD CHALLENGE Another huge week for the men's comp, with 4th and 5th dropping way out of the top 5, making way for a couple of red-hot performers. Only two 3-0 wins this week; GEOFFINITELY got 11 pts over RHYS-PECT MA AUTHORITA! and REES LIGHTNING got 11 pts over the Bye. PISTE-AL also got 11 pts, despite dropping one game against BEN-SATIONAL who had a night he'll look back on philosophically one day... after he's out of therapy... Ladder. 1. MARTY ON, DUDE! (6) 55 2. REES LIGHTNING (11) 54 3. HONG KONG FOOEY (8) 45 4. GEOFFINITELY! (11) 44 5. PISTE-AL (11) 41 Next week it's 1st v 2nd in a match that could decide the outcome of the whole competition. *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** LADIES' HEAD-TO-HEAD CHALLENGE The Ladies' comp started this week and there was a lot of one-way traffic. Big winners on the night were Katarina, Janée and Annette who all got 11 points against their opposition. Despite losing her first two games, Kelly Moore came out ahead by a massive 71 pins after the 3rd game. Huge! Ladder. 1. KAT-ASTROPHE 11 2. NAY-PALM 11 3. NAUGHTY NETTY 11 4. ROCKIN' ROBIN-SON 8 5. 23.01.2022 Just a general notice that Katarina and David have left the League. I don't like losing bowlers but sometimes there's nothing I can do about it. On behalf of the League I wish them well in the future. With their departure I have redrawn the schedule back to a 14-team draw to eliminate the two vacancies. This means that many of you will soon play against a team you have played recently. Apologies for this, it is unfortunately a mathematical inevitability.

22.01.2022 LEAGUE UPDATE for WEEK 11 Our second week back for the year produced a few excellent performances. Namely: * Katarina S with a 83 over average 211 game. :) * Bill continued his good form with a 559 series.... * Geoff C put in a terrific 210 game. * Annette C had a strong night with a 535 series. UP DA GUTZ had a strong top-of-the-table performance with a 17-2 flogging of VENI VIDI BOWLI. FOOTELOOSE will be happy with their 16-1 drubbing of the MOORE CHUCKERS. The BALL TEARERS will probably feel they got away with something, scoring a 15-0 win over GETTIN HITCHED, despite some ordinary scores. ;) WELL HONG executed a solid 12-5 win over The X Factor, with Allan proving the difference with a strong 528 series. The LADDER 1. UP DA GUTZ (17) 133 2. WENTUPDAHILL (11) 122 3. BALL TEARERS (15) 112 4. SHAKE & BAKE (10) 106 5. EVOLUTION (10) 104 6. 21.01.2022 Well, thats the 2016 season done & dusted. Congrats to Michael & Zac for annihilating us so mercilessly. Were all out to get ya next season :)

21.01.2022 Hi CML members. Tonight is the final week of bowling for the season. A very warm thanks and congratulations to all of you who participated. There will be no bowling next week, October 3.... Our presentation night is the following Monday, October 10 at the Logandale Community Centre, St Andrews Drive, Logandale Estate, Cornubia. Festivities start at 6:30pm. I will provide a flyer with maps for your convenience. Our 2017 season will commence the very next week, October 17 so if you have any team name changes etc, please let me know. Cheers, see u tonight :)

21.01.2022 Week 5 has brought a few high rollers back down to earth but nothing seems to be able to flap young Geoffrey Smith. (hes unflappable) Hes come out all guns a-blazing and pushed his average way up into the 180s from the 150-something of last season. Smoking! As a consequence, his team the Ball Tearers have made a break for it and are currently 10pts ahead of 2nd-placed On The Piste. We would like to welcome the brothers Michael and Zac White to the fold and also to their fri...ends Blake and Dylan Hughes who will be starting this week. (I hope...) Because of the "new blood" into the league we have had to adjust the lane draw and schedule to accomodate 16 teams rather than the 14 we had. So many of you might find yourselves playing against someone you have already played this season. Apologies for this but it is just one of those little unavoidable consequences. Only three weeks of bowling left for the year so best of luck to all for some big scoring coming up to Xmas. Cheers R

20.01.2022 LEAGUE UPDATE for WEEK 12 Team of the week was the new gals, The Striking DJs who were the only team to win all 17 points. 3rd placed Ball Tearers got bumped back to 3rd by Shake & Bake, despite Geoff Smith finally showing some of his 2014 form.... A lot of absentees last week, hopefully only due to the Australia Day holiday, meant a lot of teams got 0 pts for the week. In a competition this close, you cant afford to give away points! The LADDER 1. Up Da Gutz (12) 145 2. Wentupdahill (12) 134 3. Shake & Bake (13) 119 4. Ball Tearers (6) 118 5. Evolution (12) 116 6. 20.01.2022 Howdy all CML members. :) Well, that's week 3 of our new season done and that means... THE NEW AVERAGES HAVE KICKED IN!!!... 20.01.2022 Well, just over a week to go until our Gala Presentation Night (or is that "galah"...?) Remember, no league bowling tonight, Presentation next week, the 10th. :) Cheers

20.01.2022 LEAGUE UPDATE for WEEK 20 Well its starting to get crazy, folks. All the top teams faltered this week, opening the door for the lower-placed teams to catch up. Bowler of the week is without question Di-Hard Palmer who bowled a massive 114 pins over her average, including a brilliant 199 game, and whose average goes up about 4 pins as a result! Also finding some long-lost form was Leisel who also bowled way over average - about 80 over - and beat partner Marty by a good 40 p...ins. Marty is doing the dishes this week... Dis great series helped her team THE STRIKING DJs to a massive 18 points this week, made all the more special by the fact that it was against the Ladder Leaders WENTUPDAHILL who only managed 2 pts in reply. Second-place UP DA GUTZ got 6 pts to level WENDUPDAHILL at the top of the ladder. Competition Ladder 1. WENTUPDAHILL (2) 210 2. UP DA GUTZ (6) 210 3. WELL HONG (5) 207 4. BALL TEARERS (10) 197 5. The X FACTOR (12) 195 6. VENI VIDI BOWLI (5) 179 *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** ALL-IN DESIGNS MENS HEAD-TO-HEAD COMP It was carnage at the top of the Mens ladder too as the top 4 could only manage 9 points between them, and ladder leader REES LIGHTNING got his backside handed to him by RACIN JASON 12-0. The bottom teams all did very well this week with cellar-dwellers RHYS-PECT MA AUTHORITA! and STEW-BACCA both getting 8 pts and making a late charge for the top 5. A ways to go yet, but possibly the makings of a stunning comeback! The Award for Passive Excellence this week goes to BEN-SATIONAL who didnt even show up but still managed 8 pts against 2nd-placed MARTY ON, DUDE! The best Bens bowled in weeks...! Ladder 1. REES LIGHTNING (0) 70 2. MARTY ON, DUDE! (3) 64 3. PISTE-AL (3) 63 4. JACK DA RIPPA (3) 61 5. BILL BOWL BAGGERS (7) 60 6. HONG KONG FOOEY (8) 59 *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** LADIES COMP Not surprisingly, DI-HARD got a massive 12 points this week to sweep from 8th to 2nd on the ladder. LETHAL LEISELs good series bumped her up from 10th to 7th. Big backwards this week was the unlucky ROCKIN ROBINSON who got beaten 8-3 by her team-mate NAUGHTY NETTY and drops from 2nd to 5th. Still, only 9 points separating 2nd to 9th so this is still anyones comp! Ladder 1. NAY-PALM (6) 34 2. DI-HARD (12) 29 3. A-KELLYs HEEL (8) 29 4. NAUGHTY NETTY (8) 28 5. ROCKIN ROBINSON (3) 26 *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** Dont forget folks, bowling IS ON this Monday but there will be no bowling the FOLLOWING WEEK, Easter Monday - April 6. See ya! :)

20.01.2022 A good night was to be had by all tonight at our League's End-of-season Presentation night. Congrats to Bill and Annette who were our League Champions for 2015. New season starts next Monday night, October 19. Please be there for a General League Meeting at 6:30. If we can knock things over quickly we might even get to start on time :) If anyone has ideas, suggestions or things they're not happy with, that will be the time to talk about it.... Cheers guys :)

20.01.2022 Apologies for the lack of weekly updates. Hope to resume them soon. R

19.01.2022 Well that's it for 2016. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow night for a Fun night. This will comprise finger foods and 3 fun games of bowling. (How are you with your left hand???) Hostilities will recommence on Monday January 16, 2017 so to those of you who can't make it to the fun night, have a merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year.... CHEERS!!!

19.01.2022 TBA Sanctions were all paid up last week. Those of you who were absent last week, please see Tim upon arrival to collect your Membership cards. The Secretary (me) wishes to thank everyone who helped out in running the League during my recent absence. Apologies for all that, I should be good for another few months at least :) We have some great raffles coming up in the near future so stay tuned for that. And finally, welcome to our newest members Shiv, Mitch & Hubbo. We hope... you have a great time :) Cheers! R

19.01.2022 A Merry New Year to all our members. Dont forget that bowling starts back next Monday, January 11th. Please get there a little earlier as there will be a quick meeting to get thru before bowling starts which concerns everyone.... Cheers :)

18.01.2022 Congratulations to Marty and Leisel who are getting married on Saturday. As someone who has been there, done that I feel it would be remiss of me to point out that its not too late for both of you to run very quickly in opposite directions and save your sanity for more important things... but I digress. On behalf of the League I wish you both the happiest of days and we look forward to seeing some pics posted here on FB of your wedding and honeymoon. (but please, not the wedding night...) Well see you when you get back. Three CHEERS!!! Hip-hip, etc... :)

18.01.2022 LEAGUE UPDATE for WEEK 19 Without question the bowler of the week was Kim Kalkerup with a brilliant 611 series. With HCP he scored 716 and helped his team The X FACTOR to 19 points and back in touch with the Top 4. Also UP DA GUTZ scored 16 points to get back in reach of the ladder leaders WENTUPDAHILL who only scored 7 against EVOLUTION, thanks mostly to a strong showing from David Head whose 650 HCP series was the next best on the night.... The Ladder 1. WENTUPDAHILL (7) 208 2. UP DA GUTZ (16) 204 3. WELL HONG (9) 202 4. BALL TEARERS (5) 187 5. The X FACTOR (19) 183 *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** ALL-IN DESIGNS MENs HEAD-To-HEAD Comp Not surprisingly, PHAR KIM got 12 points over a luckless HONG KONG FOOEY who had the misfortune of being Kims opposition this week. DISASTROUS DAVE, despite his 650 series could only manage 6 points against a competitive ROB DAGAIN who also got 6 pts. JACK DA RIPPA charged into the Top 4 with a 9-3 win over 2nd placed MARTY ON, DUDE! and REES LIGHTNING made the most of his match against Bens blind and now has a strong lead over the field at the halfway mark of this competition. Ladder 1. REES LIGHTNING (8) 70 2. MARTY ON, DUDE! (3) 61 3. PISTE-AL (8) 60 4. JACK DA RIPPA (9) 58 5. BILL BOWL BAGGERS (8) 53 *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** LADIES COMP Week 3 of the Ladies comp has seen a big charge to the top of the ladder by NAY-PALM and ROCKIN ROBIN-son. Other strong showings by NAUGHTY NETTY and KELL-ATERAL DAMAGE have seen big movement up the ladder for them too. Early-season favourite GET UP AND GO JO finally got her first win and has given a massive head start to the rest of the field. Lulling them into a false sense of security??? :) Ladder 1. NAY-PALM (11) 28 2. ROCKIN ROBINSON (11) 23 3. A-KELLYs HEEL (3) 21 4. NAUGHTY NETTY (9) 20 5. KAT-ASTROPHY (8) 19 *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** Cheers! :)

18.01.2022 Well, that's the 2016 season done & dusted. Congrats to Michael & Zac for annihilating us so mercilessly. We're all out to get ya next season :)

18.01.2022 LEAGUE UPDATE for WEEK 15 A top-of-the-table clash between UP DA GUTZ and WENTUPDAHILL went disappointingly lop-sided as Jack Kalkerup was the only one of the 4 to show up with his game-face on. The resulting 85 pins over average series of 478 proved to be the difference and a 16-0 drubbing ensued. There was very little blood but it was not for the faint of heart.... Geoff and Scotts NO F IN STRIKES handed ON THE PISTE a bit of a shellacking too. Scotts 96 over-av series of 489, including a 58 over-av 189 game ensured an 18-2 scoreline. The X FACTOR got back into their winning ways with a 17-0 hiding over an out-of-sorts FOOTELOOSE. The win gave them a big push up the ladder from 8th to 5th. High game for the week went to Rees Pearse with a 66 over-av game of 215. Special mention to Rhys Manley with a 57 over-av game of 200. Seems like it was a good night to be called Rees (or Rhys)... The Ladder 1. WENTUPDAHILL (16) 162 2. UP DA GUTZ (0) 156 3. BALL TEARERS (4) 152 4. WELL HONG (5) 148 5. The X FACTOR (17) 139 6. SHAKE & BAKE (12) 139 7. VENI VIDI BOWLI (12) 137 *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** ALL-IN DESIGNS MENS HEAD-TO-HEAD CHALLENGE Similarly to last week, only one bowler managed a 3-0 win over his opposition. This week it was MARTY ON, DUDE! with an 11-0 win over RACIN JASON. REES LIGHTNING managed 10 points despite losing one game when he scored a double-bonus-point 93 pin win over GEOFFINITELY! JACK DA RIPPA gave his dad PHAR KIM a fair pasting on the night too, prompting the thought "I wonder if Kim made him walk home..." The Ladder. 1. REES LIGHTNING (10) 40 2. MARTY ON, DUDE! (11) 37 3. PISTE-AL (8) 30 4. GEOFFINITELY (3) 30 5. HONG KONG FOOEY (3) 29 So the same Top 5 as last week, but in a different order. Next week sees 3rd vs 5th - Geoff vs Hongy and 2nd vs 4th - Marty vs Allan so that oughta give the ladder a bit of a shake up. *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** Cheers guys ! :)

18.01.2022 Howdy all CML members. :) Well, thats week 3 of our new season done and that means... THE NEW AVERAGES HAVE KICKED IN!!!... 18.01.2022 LEAGUE UPDATE for WEEK 13 Some strong bowling performances last night resulted in a few whoopings along the way. Allan Hongs 234 game went a long way towards Well Hong giving ladder leaders Up Da Gutz an 18-0 drubbing. Rees Pearse had a sterling evening with a 107 over-av series of 542, not enough to take the points of the X Factor who also had their best night of the season.... Geoff and Scotts No F In Strikes gave Shake & Bake a 18-1 thrashing and Kelly Moores 430 series, easily her personal best, got her team 17 points for the night. The Ladder. 1. Wentupdahill (11) 145 2. Up Da Gutz (0) 145 3. Ball Tearers (12) 130 4. Well Hong (18) 126 5. Evolution (8) 124 6. Shake & Bake (1) 120 *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** MENS HEAD-TO-HEAD COMP Only Week 2 of the comp so you expect some volatility in the makeup of the ladder but all I can say is WOW, wasnt expecting that!!! Hong Kong Fooey gave ladder leader Ben-Sational a 13-0 flogging to go from 10th to 1st. Ben-Sational drops all the way to 12th. Marty On Dude! and Phar Kim both got 11 pts to forge their way up the ladder and Rees Lightning and Ran-Tastic both got 9 pts to edge into the top 5. Ladder. 1. HONG KONG FOOEY (13) 18 2. GEOFF-INITELY! (8) 18 3. MARTY ON, DUDE! (11) 17 4. REES LIGHTNING (9) 17 5. RAN-TASTIC (9) 15 Bill, Kim and David all on 14. *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** See u all next Monday :)

17.01.2022 Week 3 brings an end to bowling off last seasons average and next week everyone will get their new current averages. The new Lane Conditions seem to be favourable to most with our League Average up over 4 pins from last year. Sandbagger awards for our first 9 games goes unequivocally to Jakadaka whos av goes down nearly 14 pins from last year.... Special mention to Rees P at 9.7 and Brandon at 7.1 The "peaked-at-the-wrong-time" award goes to Scott M whose av is up 20 pins from last season! Ben D also up 20 pins, Geoff S up over 16 pins, Leisel and Allan up 13 pins, Jeanine up 12 and Annette up 10. Heres hoping you can maintain that, guys! :) Congrats to Di and Jeanine who both bowled 50-over-av games in the same game last night (amidst much disbelief and laughter :) ) The resultant team score of 480 (incl hcp) will be tough to beat. Enjoy :)

10.01.2022 LEAGUE UPDATE for WEEK 21 Much upheaval at the top of the ladder this week as we have a new leader. WELL HONG has shot to the top of the table with a 12-7 win over GETTING HITCHED, while previous incumbents UPDA GUTZ and WENTUPDAHILL could only manage 7 & 5 pts respectively. Sad news with Ben Dunn pulling out of the league for personal reasons. SHAKE & BAKE (or is that now SHAKE & NO BAKE?) managed a strong 16 points all the same.... Bowlers of the week were surprisingly close. We had Scott Melbourne with a 538 series, and then Hongy and Jason each with 537 series. Scotts performance was supreme though, being 133 pins over average for the night, scoring a 694 HCP series. For the ladies, Pat "Rockin" Robinson had a great night with a 501 series, 654 including HCP. And she keeps telling me shes no good any more... ;) LADDER 1. WELL HONG (12) 219 2. HONG KONG FOOEY stormed to the top of the table with 11 pts against PISTE-AL in the battle of the ALs. Ladder leader REES LIGHTNING got whipped by DISASTROUS DAVE 11-0 and RHYS-PECT MA AUTHORITA! had a solid 11-0 win over JAK DA RIPPA. Only 5 weeks to go and it is still anyones comp, with only 9 points separating the top 9 competitors. LADDER 1. HONG KONG FOOEY (11) 70 2. REES LIGHTNING (0) 70 3. MARTY ON, DUDE! (3) 67 4. ROCKIN ROBINSON was the standout this week with an 11-0 drubbing over the Bye, sending her from 5th to 2nd on the ladder. Despite the battle of the Kellys being a 6-6 draw, A-KELLYS HEEL dropped from 3rd to 5th in the wash. LADDER 1. NAY-PALM (3) 37 2. ROCKIN ROBINSON (11) 37 3. NAUGHTY NETTY (8) 36 4. DI-HARD (6) 35 5. 10.01.2022 Warm regards to Leisel Mulhearn who is currently bed-ridden from the nose down in hospital. Rumour has it that shes in for surgery to get separated from her invisible Siamese twin. Another rumour says shes been secretly donating organs and accidently donated a couple too many... Another even less-founded rumour has it that shes having emergency skin-grafting surgery after suffering 3rd-degree burns having run into a burning building to save her bowling ball from melting. ...(we dont believe that one...) Anyway, best wishes to you Leisel and we hope you rejoin us on Monday nights soon. :) PS Well keep an eye on Matt for you; make sure he doesnt start drinking and taking drugs or anything... ;)

09.01.2022 LEAGUE UPDATE for WEEK 14. (Apologies for the lateness) Best team performances for the week go to defending champs Ball Tearers with an 18-0 flogging of Evolution. Allan "Hong Kong Fooey" Hong continued his run of good form to get 17 points for Well Hong and a curiously out of sorts Wentupdahill got a 0-16 pasting from Veni Vidi Bowli, largely thanks to a strong 500 series from in-form Rees.... Bowlers of the week were undoubtedly Hongy with his 540 series and Geoff Smith with a 515 series including a 55 over-av 207 game. Is Geoffs 2013 form about to return??? The Ladder 1. UP DA GUTZ (11) 156 2. BALL TEARERS (18) 148 3. WENTUPDAHILL (1) 146 4. WELL HONG (17) 143 5. Rees Lightning managed a whopping 13 points as he flogged Phar Kim by a crazy 144 pins, moving to the top of the ladder in the process. Other good performances were by Geoffinitely, Marty On, Dude and Piste-Al who all got 9 pts. Close match of the round was between team-mates BillBowl Baggers and Jack Da Rippa who shared a win, a loss and a draw between them. Ladder 1. REES LIGHTNING (13) 30 2. GEOFFINITELY (9) 27 3. 08.01.2022 LEAGUE UPDATE for WEEK 20 Well it's starting to get crazy, folks. Di's great series helped her team THE STRIKING DJs to a massive 18 points this week, made all the more special by the fact that it was against the Ladder Leaders WENTUPDAHILL who only managed 2 pts in reply. VENI VIDI BOWLI (5) 179 *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** ALL-IN DESIGNS MEN'S HEAD-TO-HEAD COMP It was carnage at the top of the Men's ladder too as the top 4 could only manage 9 points between them, and ladder leader REES LIGHTNING got his backside handed to him by RACIN' JASON 12-0. The bottom teams all did very well this week with cellar-dwellers RHYS-PECT MA AUTHORITA! and STEW-BACCA both getting 8 pts and making a late charge for the top 5. A ways to go yet, but possibly the makings of a stunning comeback! The Award for Passive Excellence this week goes to BEN-SATIONAL who didn't even show up but still managed 8 pts against 2nd-placed MARTY ON, DUDE! The best Ben's bowled in weeks...! Ladder 1. REES LIGHTNING (0) 70 2. MARTY ON, DUDE! (3) 64 3. PISTE-AL (3) 63 4. JACK DA RIPPA (3) 61 5. BILL BOWL BAGGERS (7) 60 6. HONG KONG FOOEY (8) 59 *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** LADIES' COMP Not surprisingly, DI-HARD got a massive 12 points this week to sweep from 8th to 2nd on the ladder. LETHAL LEISEL's good series bumped her up from 10th to 7th. Big backwards this week was the unlucky ROCKIN' ROBINSON who got beaten 8-3 by her team-mate NAUGHTY NETTY and drops from 2nd to 5th. Still, only 9 points separating 2nd to 9th so this is still anyone's comp! Ladder 1. NAY-PALM (6) 34 2. DI-HARD (12) 29 3. A-KELLY's HEEL (8) 29 4. NAUGHTY NETTY (8) 28 5. ROCKIN' ROBINSON (3) 26 *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** Don't forget folks, bowling IS ON this Monday but there will be no bowling the FOLLOWING WEEK, Easter Monday - April 6. See ya! :)

08.01.2022 Well, our new season kicked off in style last Monday night with the help of a new oil pattern that we have been told will be more forgiving than the old one. That remains to be seen but the initial signs are pretty good. CML welcomes the return of past bowlers Ben Dunn and Michael Rings to the fold. Many happy frames guys :) See you all on Monday! :)

07.01.2022 Week 3 brings an end to bowling off last season's average and next week everyone will get their new current averages. The new Lane Conditions seem to be favourable to most with our League Average up over 4 pins from last year. Sandbagger awards for our first 9 games goes unequivocally to Jakadaka who's av goes down nearly 14 pins from last year.... Here's hoping you can maintain that, guys! :) Congrats to Di and Jeanine who both bowled 50-over-av games in the same game last night (amidst much disbelief and laughter :) ) The resultant team score of 480 (incl hcp) will be tough to beat. Enjoy :)

07.01.2022 LEAGUE UPDATE for WEEK 18 Firstly, a Happy Birthday to Jack Kalkerup who turned 19 last Wednesday. And he doesnt look a day over 18, does he...? The top 4 teams are starting to get a bit of a break on the rest of the field and although were only a little over one-third of the way thru the season, the signs are looking ominous.... WENTUPDAHILL bolstered their position with a 17-1 caning over SPLIT HAPPENS while WELL HONG managed 12 pts off EVOLUTION. New team NO F IN STRIKES went home with 18 points, largely thanks to Geoffs 584 series and a 53 over-av 185 from Scott. The Ladder 1. WENTUPDAHILL (17) 201 2. WELL HONG (12) 193 3. UP DA GUTZ (4) 188 4. BALL TEARERS (11) 182 5. The X FACTOR (5) 164 6. VENI VIDI BOWLI (3) 163 *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** Bowler of the week was undoubtedly Diane Palmer whose 426 series was 57 pins over average, the highest in the league. Jack Kalkerup continued his fine form with a 54 over average 456 series and Geoff Cosgroves 584 series has now elevated him to the status of league High Average. *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** ALL-IN DESIGNS MENs HEAD-TO-HEAD COMP The result of last weeks 1st vs 2nd clash between Marty and Rees ended up 8-3 in favour of Rees. Congrats! Other top performers were PISTE-AL with an 11-0 hiding of RAN-TASTIC, DISASTROUS DAVE with an 11-0 thumping of GEOFFINITELY! and JACK DA RIPPAs 11 pts vs the BYE. The Ladder 1. REES LIGHTNING (8) 62 2. MARTY ON, DUDE! (3) 58 3. PISTE-AL (11) 52 4. HONG KONG FOOEY (6) 51 5. JACK DA RIPPA (11) 49 *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** LADIES COMP In only its second week, the ladder is understandably volatile. That being said, there was a lot of change from Week 1. DI-HARD had an excellent week, thumping the always well-performed NAUGHTY NETTY 11-0. GIVE EM HELL JANELLE managed an 8-3 win over THE JEANINE MACHINE to charge into the top 3. But perhaps the biggest OMG comes from the absent A-KELLYS HEEL whose Blind Score was enough to defeat a curiously out-of-sorts KAT-ASTROPHE 11-0 and move to the top of the ladder. The Ladder 1. A-KELLYS HEEL (11) 18 2. NAY-PALM (6) 17 3. GIVE EM HELL JANELLE (8) 14 4. The Bye (9) 14 5. ROCKIN ROBIN-son (4) 12 *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** Thats all, folks! :)

05.01.2022 NEW SEASON STARTS! MONDAY OCTOBER 16. Come early for meeting. 6:30pm

05.01.2022 LEAGUE UPDATE for WEEK 17 Well, Week 17 was a no-holds-barred rootin-tootin free-for-all with very few prisoners taken... (sorry, thats all the clichs I can think of for now...) 2nd & 3rd placed UP DA GUTZ and WELL HONG both got 17 points and have swamped Ladder Leaders WENTUPDAHILL who got belted by a red-hot Geoff Cosgrove in his team NO F IN STRIKES. Needless to say, their opposition, EVOLUTION, were at a loss for words and are considering taking up darts ;) Weve had our first Drawn Series for the season, with X FACTOR and GETTIN HITCHED drawing 1138 each. Tense stuff! Ladder 1. WENTUPDAHILL (6) 184 2. UP DA GUTZ (17) 184 3. WELL HONG (17) 181 4. BALL TEARERS (11) 171 5. VENI VIDI BOWLI (11) 160 6. Only two 3-0 wins this week; GEOFFINITELY got 11 pts over RHYS-PECT MA AUTHORITA! and REES LIGHTNING got 11 pts over the Bye. PISTE-AL also got 11 pts, despite dropping one game against BEN-SATIONAL who had a night hell look back on philosophically one day... after hes out of therapy... Ladder. 1. MARTY ON, DUDE! (6) 55 2. 04.01.2022 Just a general notice that Katarina and David have left the League. I dont like losing bowlers but sometimes theres nothing I can do about it. On behalf of the League I wish them well in the future. With their departure I have redrawn the schedule back to a 14-team draw to eliminate the two vacancies. This means that many of you will soon play against a team you have played recently. Apologies for this, it is unfortunately a mathematical inevitability.

04.01.2022 Hi League. In case there's any confusion regarding whether we're bowling this coming Monday - ANZAC Day - YES WE ARE. It will be business as usual. See you there :)

01.01.2022 Hi Leaguies (a word I've just invented...) :) Just a reminder that our Presentation is NOT tomorrow (the 5th), it is next Monday, October 12. Pizza and drinkies at La Porchetta from 6:00 pm, presentation at 7:15 in the Bowl.... See you next week :) R

01.01.2022 LEAGUE UPDATE for WEEK 16 Apologies for the lateness of this post; I have had no internet since Sunday. There were a few less-than-complimentary comments about the lane conditions on Monday and the Bowl has apologised for any inconvenience. Usually Jonny gets to oil a good hour before we bowl but due to unforseen circumstances wasnt able to oil them till only 10 minutes before we started. This didnt give the oil time to properly settle and permeate the lanes. Consequentl...y many of us found the lanes a little dry. This should be a one-off occurrence. Strong showings from the top teams have seen them pull away at the top of the ladder. 1st place WENTUPDAHILL got another 16 pts, this time against a Ben-less SHAKE & BAKE to extend their lead. UP DA GUTZ had an 11-5 win over ON THE PISTE, despite Joannes 35 over av 437 series. WELL HONG continue their climb up the ladder, making hay from Allans good mid-season form with a 16-1 caning of NO F IN STRIKES. The LADDER. 1. WENTUPDAHILL (16) 178 2. UP DA GUTZ (11) 167 3. 01.01.2022 This Monday, December 7, is our final week of bowling for the year before our Xmas break. There will be a small gathering beforehand, from 6:15 onwards with nibblies and drinks so get there early before its all gone :) Thank you to those who will have donated food items to the occasion. There will also be a Xmas raffle with an amazing first prize and some terrific consolation prizes too. See you all there :)

01.01.2022 Week 4 was a cracker of a week with some splendid bowling from several bowlers, but none so splendid as Geoff & Benn, the GeeBees. Their 1st game of 439 scratch (216 + 223) set a new benchmark for the rest of the league to chase. Their Team Series of 1,220 will take some beating too, passing the previous high by more than 100 pins! Several bowlers took advantage of favourable early season conditions to push their averages up even further than they already had in week 3. The... noteworthy: Kelly F - up 9 Rees - up 8 Geoff C - up 7 Geoff S & Ben - up 5 In a similar fashion, several found their new averages a little high and took a bit of a crash & burn. The noteworthy: Rhys - down 4 Cath, Pat & Jason - down 5 but the prize goes to - SCOTT down 8!!! This time of year is always volatile with respect to averages so it will take a few weeks to settle down. Across the board, our League Average has gone up from 141 last season to 145 so far this season. I think Dan has done well with the new oil pattern - we shall see how long this ride lasts :) R

01.01.2022 Only 2 Mondays to go for Season 2016-17. Thanks for a great season CMLers :)
