Please remember this week will be the last week of training for the year, so in our usual end of year class, all students are invited to the first class either at the Clermont dojo Tuesday (4:15pm) or the Emerald dojo Thursday (6pm). We will have a combined class, followed by some games and nibbles at the end if you'd like to bring a share plate (beware allergies). See you there! Sensei

18.01.2022 Gday Clermont! Training starts back today!! A few restrictions as per compliance. 1. Social distancing 1.5m for everyone unless on the Dojo floor. So no seating inside, parents and siblings will have to remain outside. This will also help us comply with numbers in the dojo venue. 2. A sanitation station will be set up at the desk on entry. I expect students to enter in an orderly manner, sign in and line up. No running around before or after class. New students can enter in ...the same way to provide details to Sensei. 3. There will be an entry door (front) and an exit door (side), for classes to come and go. No mingling of classes. And I expect the next class to wait in the foyer until Sensei can admit you (observing social distancing in the foyer! ). 4. 15.01.2022 Guess what everyone! With this new community isolation challenge, were finally getting our online classes going...we just needs a little pandemic to push us along! Sensei is currently setting up Zoom conferencing, so if you are interested in continuing your Karate from home during these times of isolation, then wed love to help! Ongoing exercise is essential to our mental and physical health and I believe we can all take part in these online sessions. 13.01.2022 Awesome news everyone! We are able to resume normal classes in Emerald Thursday night this week (4th)!! We are restricted however to 20 people max on the entire showgrounds property... that includes caretakers etc. And Level 2 restriction still apply with distancing and no contact. The great news however is we can get somewhat back to normal. So please let me know if youll be heading in to practice. Parents will probably have to drop and run or wait in vehicles to make numbe...rs work. Let me know if you are keen to practice this Thursday! I may be a few minutes late due to work commitments, however it will be just after 6pm ok!

08.01.2022 Gday everyone! Well we heard back from the Clermont hall today and unfortunately no training at the hall allowed until term three! . Emerald dojo has resumed training and its fantastic to be back working out. Of course any Clermont students who would like to train in Emerald on a Thursday evening are most welcome, however well need prior notice to ensure numbers dont exceed 20 (including staff). So until further notice we will continue our Tuesday Zoom classes and I mig...ht look at zooming during the Thursday class in Emerald, will notify everyone. 07.01.2022 In the interests of public health and with the latest medical advice, we will be cancelling Karate classes this week, possibly until after the holidays due to Covid-19. I believe we are a week or so behind the European countries that have significant transmission, so if we can minimise non essential group activities at this stage we might get through this sooner. Stay healthy and well be back on track soon! Id like everyone to practice their kata and those things worked on in class last week with Sensei.

05.01.2022 According to a study published by the World health Organisation in 2003, Sport participation was also found to increase sense of belonging as well as foster social interaction and emotional support through clubs and organizations. Sport participation, at 28%, was found to be the most common social activity. So... if you, a friend or family member could do with improved social interaction...along with some skills, then get them along to Karate! Push each other and grow together! Sensei.

03.01.2022 I'd just like to congratulate these students from our Clermont Dojo, on their academic achievements this year! A fantastic effort and a great example to younger students of how the self discipline, focus and mental fortitude developed through our Karate training, can be translated to all other aspects of our lives. 1. Luke Kinnon Sempai, Awards 2020: Top performer in English and Furnishing. Outstanding achievement in Mathmatics.... Merit in Instrumental Music. Excellence in Vocational Education & Training (a special award for a year 11 student who "demonstrates a consistent achievement, attitude, effort and behaviour while studying authority registered subjects"). Completed both year 11 and year 12 in 2020! WOW! 2. Thomas McDonald 4th Kyu awards 2020: Outstanding achievement in Mathematics and a Distinction in English. The Aboriginal Encouragement Award. 3. Michael Chan 4th Kyu awards 2020: Year 11 Dux! CQU Academic Bursary and Isaac Regional Council Cultural Award. Outstanding achievement in English, Chemistry and Instrumental Music. Distinction in Math Methods and Specialist Maths.

03.01.2022 Yup! Our technique is honed by repetition, to the point it needs to be subconsciously proficient to be effective when required. So why do students do two techniques and assume they are done? . Don't practice until you get it right, practice until you can't get it wrong!.... Then keep practising.
