25.01.2022 GAMES WEEK AT CONTESSA! 'Awful Annie' - let's do this!

24.01.2022 Mandi had breast explant surgery. Why? When? How? Did it hurt? Find out answers to the questions above and so much more in episode #27 of the Contessa Cast. It's just an entire podcast about boobs really. #yourewelcome... https://anchor.fm//27-Mandi-had-breast-explant-surgery-ek5 Any further questions on this topic, ask below. Any other questions for future topics hit us up in the comments!

24.01.2022 SugarWOD is a tool that we use at Contessa to measure your health. KEEP READING. So many forms of measuring 'progress' are overused and not a direct reflection of your health, like your weight. But others are grossly underused that can show so much useful data, like recording your workouts. ... Your fitness; time, weights used, rounds performed, etc, directly correlate with your health. *Mostly. Sometimes to much of a good thing is still to much. Why measure your relationship with gravity over your relationship with your fitness aka your HEALTH?! I hope this gives just ONE woman the courage to ditch the scales and start recording and tracking workouts. Your scores matter. Not to compete against others in your gym, but to track your progress. O AND if you do this CrossFit stuff long enough you will learn you will not PB every time you lift. You will not get faster every time you run and you will not beat your Fran time every time you hit it. Your training for HEALTH. And health is never linear. See more

23.01.2022 Imagine worst case scenario. Could you live with it if worst case happened? If yes. Just do it.

22.01.2022 #ContessaMembersSay 'I’ve always been fit and enjoyed training but CrossFit takes it to a whole new level, I never thought I’d be able to do the things I can do. I like that you can’t fake it, you put in the work and you get results. It’s helped me in every aspect of my life, but the biggest positive is that I can lift my king size mattress to change my sheets without help ’ - Ella, 31, Chef.

19.01.2022 You are never to old to start taking care of you. #CrossFit

07.01.2022 Celebrating 1 year at Contessa! 'I joined Contessa about 8 months after having my baby. I was seeing Candice for postpartum return to run and she told me about Contessa and I thought I have to try this!' I’ve stayed for the beautiful community and coaches.... My Favourite movement is anything to do with a barbell or the rig and my greatest achievement to date is having my little family. Contessa has helped me learn how to juggle all aspects of my life and taught me the importance of prioritising my physical and mental health.' Happy member-versary Loz! See more

07.01.2022 #ContessaMembersSay 'I have always been someone who would exercise intensely for a short period and then stop for months. I knew I would enjoy the style of training but was a little intimidated by the masculine culture which I associated with CrossFit, which is why I was drawn to Contessa. My greatest achievement so far is this being the 6th month that I have consistently exercised which is a big deal for me, that I've been able to keep going when normally I would have dropped off. - Arline, 28, Social Worker.

03.01.2022 Celebrating 1 year at Contessa! Why did you join? 'I had a desk job at the time & knew I needed to move more, I needed something to challenge me as well. I didn't really know much about CrossFit and thought there was no way I could just join at my current fitness level. After going to an information night, I found Mum's just like me who talked about how CrossFit has helped them in their daily lives & so I joined.'... Why did you stay? 'I have stayed at Contessa because everyone is so incredibly supportive and kind. Everyone wants everyone to succeed, there is no judgment here. Every day is a new opportunity to learn a skill, it has been a year and I can't remember doing the same WOD twice, so it keeps it interesting.' Favourite WOD or movement? 'My favourite workouts at CrossFit are the long ones where you work through lots of different movements. The variety makes them fun to do & you can practice lots of different skills in one session.' Your greatest achievement since joining? 'My greatest achievement since joining CrossFit has been believing in myself more. Believing that I can do the hard workouts, believing that I can add more weight & that if I just show up I won't ever regret it.' - Laura Thanks for hanging out with us Bestie! We have loved watching the mental shift too. Bring on another year! XOXO

01.01.2022 #ContessaMembersSay 'CrossFit has helped me open jars that my husband can’t! Ha ha! It has helped me with my ability to focus on the bigger picture, the whole picture to focus on each and every movement inside and outside of the gym. It has helped me break down my way of thinking in steps, the same way we learn new movements or exercises! My greatest achievement is doing things I was too scared to do before having confidence I didn’t know I had and lifting weights I would have never imagined lifting and can’t wait to see what else my body can do.' - Lizzy, 36, Mother.
