22.01.2022 BULLDOGS PLAYERS' MEET BRITISH TENNIS YOUNG GUNS The Playford Tennis International is currently in full swing at the Playford Tennis Centre in Elizabeth. Player...s from all over the world are competing for glory on the Pro-Tour including young English stars Katie Swan and Gabriella Taylor (20). The 19-year-old Swan recently won through the first round of Wimbeldon and is managed by men's 2012 US Open winner, Andy Murray. The Elizabeth community is known as having a large presence of English people dating back to the working-class migrants who moved to the northern suburbs after World War II. Britain's Swan and Taylor recently spent time learning about the local suburb including meeting a couple of players from the community's largest sports club, the Central District Football Club in the SANFL (South Australian National Football League). Footballers Kyle Presbury and Sam Hanna visited the Playford Tennis Centre throwing their support behind the tennis event along with showing the pro-tennis stars how the sport of Aussie Rules is played. Taylor showed some handly skill with her kicking ability whilst Swan took a liking to the oval ball and while handballing the football she was heard to say 'this would be a good warm up (before her tennis matches). Central District supporters are well known to have the chants of "You Dogs!" and "Ceeeentrals" (since the early 1970's) and provide an atmosphere unrivalled elsewhere. Tennis action continues tomorrow at Playford Tennis Centre with the Men's and Women's singles semi-finals along with the Men's and Women's doubles final which features local Adelaide star Amber Marshall in her first professional doubles final. 10.01.2022 The Club is pleased to announce the signing of Jonathan Marsh for Season 2019. A quick maturing ruckman who was heavily impressive in the North Eastern Austral...ian Football League (NEAFL) this year, playing for Sydney University Football Club against big bodied opposition. He displays good mobility and at 203cms, shows terrific qualities with the ball, in the air and at ground level. At 21 years of age, he comes highly motivated and is an exciting addition to our big man brigade. We look forward to seeing Jono out on the park, when he joins the boys in the New Year.
