25.01.2022 We have shared stories and shared histories and that’s why it’s so important for us to share this with those communities. Professor Megan Davis hit the nail ...on the head when explaining just how important the translation of the #UluruStatement into over 60 languages is. The translation project was the result of a partnership between the Uluru Dialogue, the Indigenous Law Centre UNSW and SBS Australia for #NAIDOC2020. Not only have SBS provided translations but they have also provided recordings of each of the translations and an information page on everything you need to know about the Uluru Statement. Access here (https://www.sbs.com.au//the-uluru-statement-from-the-heart). Help us continue our important work of spreading the invitation of the Uluru Statement to all Australians, helping to ensure a constitutionally enshrined First Nations Voice to Parliament becomes a reality. #Indigenous #auspol #auslaw #Australia #Aboriginal #TorresStraitIslander

20.01.2022 NAIDOC 2020 invites all Australians to embrace the true history of this country a history which dates back thousands of generations. It’s about seeing, hearing and learning the First Nations’ 65,000+ year history of this country - which is Australian history. For all Australians to celebrate that we have the oldest continuing cultures on the planet and to recognise that sovereignty was never ceded. Always Was, Always Will Be.

18.01.2022 The painting 'Judgement by his peers' - By Gordon Syron is a favourite at the Central Coast Community Legal Centre. We have a vision for a fairer society based on access to justice. We believe there can be no such thing as justice without equal access. This week is NAIDOC week and this years theme "Always Was, Always Will Be" recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. NAIDOC 2020 invites all Australians to embrace... the true history of this country a history which dates back thousands of generations. You can support by following The Uluru Statement from the Heart and supporting the three key elements to the reforms set out in The Uluru Statement, including enshrining a First Nations Voice in the Australian Constitution. https://gordonsyron.com//judgement-by-his-peers-a-work-th/

10.01.2022 On Remembrance Day & during NAIDOC Week, we take some time to remember those veterans too often forgotten: the thousands of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islande...r servicemen who defended a country that didn't recognise them as citizens. This land is theirs - #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe. This photo from December 1940 is of Aboriginal servicemen training in Victoria. Sadly, their names have been lost. You can read a little of their story here: https://www.awm.gov.au/collection/C295502

02.01.2022 We're just a few days away from the beginning of NAIDOC week, which will be from the 8-15 November! The theme this year is 'Always was, always will be'. We reco...gnise that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have never ceded their sovereignty across this continent. In the spirit of shared learning and conversation, we're going to dedicate some time in the lead-up to #NAIDOC2020 to share some events, talks and celebrations happening online and across the state. "This country was criss-crossed by generations of brilliant Nations. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were Australia’s first explorers, first navigators, first engineers, first farmers, first botanists, first scientists, first diplomats, first astronomers and first artists. NAIDOC 2020 invites all Australians to embrace the true history of this country a history which dates back thousands of generations." You can read more about the history of NAIDOC week and the theme here: https://www.naidoc.org.au/ #NAIDOC2020 #NAIDOCWeek #NAIDOC
