20.01.2022 An interesting afternoon! From Rough-scaled snake to now an exotic Corn snake. Although we can keep native species of reptiles on licence, we are not permitted to keep exotics.

14.01.2022 We were called to remove this Red-bellied black (RBB) snake from the front yard of a North Gosford residence. Their small dog had just been taken and left at the vet, as it was vomiting. Upon returning home, they noticed the snake in the yard and informed the vet of a possible snake bite to the dog, a Yorkshire Terrier. Tests are now being undertaken for possible RBB snake bite. With snakes on the move, please keep all yards maintained, tidied and free of rubbish and monitor ...whilst your pets are outdoors. Keep cats indoors, otherwise they may harm wildlife and may also bring reptiles inside. Listen out for your dog when they are outside, as they will alert you to any reptile in close vicinity. If your dog has alerted you to a snake, call your dog to come to you, remove your pet and yourself from any danger and give us a call, to have the snake safely removed. See more

05.01.2022 A great newspaper article from our friend and fellow Sydney snake catcher, Cory Kerewaro at Reptile Relocation Sydney, in regards to snake behaviour and staying safe. Enjoy the read

05.01.2022 These photos were sent to us from a resident at Bateau Bay. The last photo is taken from the Australian Museum for clearer identification. This is a dangerously venomous Rough-scaled snake (Tropidechis carinatus). The resident had called an unlicensed snake catcher who advised him it was a mildly venomous Marsh snake. The resident captured the snake into a container himself believing it was a Marsh Snake. Rough-scaled snakes and Marsh snakes are both brown in colour but you d...o not want to get them confused with each other. A bite from a Rough-scaled snake will lower your blood pressure very quickly and you will pass out. The venom from Rough-scaled snakes are highly potent and you will require Tiger snake Antivenom. This is why you don’t want to call unlicensed snake catchers, as they do not have the years of experience or knowledge of local snakes in the area. See more
