19.01.2022 Following the retrieval from an antique store of the 1914/15 Barton Challenge Shield (which inaugurated the CH District Premiership), in the 2018/19 season CHCI re-named our Senior Comp to The Barton Shield. Recently we received some wonderful assistance from the Emerald Woodworkers Group Inc who kindly made and donated a case for the 1914 shield to be held in . The case looks terrific and will protect the Barton Challenge Shield for years to come . Also thanks to Tony at APH Glass & Aluminium for his kind donation towards this project. The Woodworkers are now working on making a new Barton Shield. For anyone interested in joining the Woodworkers Group, they meet each week at the Emerald Showgrounds. #bartonshield #communitypartnerships

17.01.2022 SENIORS: BARTON SHIELD COMP NOW STARTS 10 OCTOBER 2020. Draw is available on My Cricket. Clubs need to ensure all Seniors are registered on-line prior to playing and should now be setting up their squads for the season. Reminder team selections are required to be done through My Cricket the Friday night before each game. This season more than ever this is important as accurate team selection will assist clubs with back up info for covid tracing (note: this doesn't replace your entry/exit sign on requirements as per your Covid Plans). Please also note for now all game starts on draw are 12 midday however from Round 2 onwards there may be some games starting at 12-30 but we haven't been able to alter the draw for those games yet until junior draws are finalised.

08.01.2022 Farewell, Good Luck and Thank-You! As many would already know, QLD Cricket has been forced to go through a restructure due to COVID-19. Last Friday was another sad day for the Community Cricket team in CQ with our Area Manager Blake Rutherford finishing his tenure in CQ and Mackay Whitsunday. Blake’s strong direction and undoubted commitment has seen CQ go from strength to strength in his three and a half years with the region, including the recent extreme growth in Central ...Highlands where Blake has invested a lot of his time. The km's he drive, the weekends he gave up with his family, the late nights all illustrate his commitment to his role went above what was expected. Please leave a message of support in the comments below. Thanks Blake Rutherford
