22.01.2022 AUSTRALIAN CERAMICS STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS TRIENNALE 2019 CALL FOR PROPOSALS DEADLINE: FRIDAY 5 OCTOBER 2018, 5PM (AEST) ... The Australian Ceramics Association (TACA) is offering a scholarship to 2 ceramics students to enable them their attendance at the Australian Ceramics Triennale in Hobart, Tasmania from 14 May 2019. Valued at $1500 each, these two scholarships will assist the successful applicants to cover the costs of Triennale registration, travel and accommodation. These funds have been made available by TACA using the remaining money from The Trudie Alfred Bequest, along with sales of jam made as a fundraiser for TACA by Ursula Burgoyne, a ceramic artist from NSW. We are calling for proposals from students currently enrolled (2018) in an Australian university or TAFE. The two successful applicants will be required to contribute 6 hours of their time to assist with MANIFEST, TACAs exhibition in Hobart. There will be a selection panel of two Holly Macdonald, TACA Board Director, and Vicki Grima, TACA Executive Officer. 19.01.2022 OPPORTUNITY STUDIO ASSISTANT REQUIRED Coolum Beach, Queensland. Reporting to the manager, responsibilities include:... - Making slip - Pouring Moulds - Opening and cleaning greenware - Loading and unloading kilns - Painting bisque ware - Packing and shipping product - General Studio cleanup Must have had experience with slip-casting or some other pottery experience. $20 for the first 90 days of a probationary period then goes up to $22 after that. Will be on a contract basis. Must be comfortable lifting molds and buckets of slip up to around 20Kg multiple times daily. Must be able to comprehend and work towards the overall workload while having strong attention to detail. Must be fast, hardworking and reliable and able to work unsupervised. 18.01.2022 There will be an Arts and Crafters Market at the Redcliffe Pottery Group location (The Old Fire Station, 395 Oxley Avenue, Redcliffe) this Saturday from 10am to 3pm. Many different local artisans and makers with a fabulous array of items for sale, along with items from Redcliffe Arts Society and of course, Redcliffe Pottery Group. The potters will also be doing their annual "Soup Bowl" - donate $10 to the club and you will receive a handmade bowl filled with homemade soup - you get to keep the bowl.
