25.01.2022 Only 16% of Victorians have smoke alarms in their bedrooms. We strongly encourage the installation of a smoke alarm inside each bedroom. Smoke alarms save lives.

25.01.2022 Great video from Phillip Island Fire Brigade today, shared as part of R U OK Day. Well done.

24.01.2022 Lakes Entrance Fire Brigade (District 11) Volunteer Captain Phil Loukes led his brigade through one of the most significant bushfire seasons East Gippsland has seen. Here’s his views on leadership on the front line. #NVW2020 https://t.co/n6UJvpjKkA

24.01.2022 It's been a long road, but great to see this important project coming together.

23.01.2022 Right across Australia this week we have been celebrating the amazing work and efforts of our volunteers. Throughout the COVID-19 restrictions, our CFA Volunteers have continued to provide a critical service to their communities. For that, and everything else you do, we thank you! #NVW2020

20.01.2022 Great team work! Well done to all Brigades involved.

19.01.2022 Thank-you Mallacoota P12 College preps! Awesome way to acknowledge the incredible efforts of our Volunteer Firefighters.

19.01.2022 Great news for several of our District 11 brigades - Bemm, Goongerah and Wairewa will soon benefit from new sprinkler systems that will assist in protecting their stations this summer.

17.01.2022 Thank-you to all emergency services who responded to calls for help from the community during the storms last night. Job well done!

16.01.2022 After the devastation of last fire season, communities are banding together to help others get back on their feet A number of brigades in the East Gippsland ...region have been recipients of donations from their local community and have been able to purchase equipment through these donations. CFA’s District 11 were able to purchase a portable generator to be used across the region where it’s needed most, helping many across East Gippsland. A lovely example of community spirit

15.01.2022 A great read on International Youth Day. Well done Nar Nar Goon Fire Brigade - CFA!

14.01.2022 California experiences wildfires similar to Victoria (bushfire). Both are naturally fire prone. What's different in California this bushfire season? Lightning! The amount of wildfires started by lightning is remarkable and the weather forecast is likely to bring more.... It is important to remember that our season often follows California, hence the reason we have a strong relationship with our partner agency CAL FIRE who face the same unique risk and challenges.

14.01.2022 Really pleased to see three well respected and proud CFA members (Ian, Robin and Russell) recognised with an AFSM for their outstanding contribution to the fire service. Three fine gentlemen who are genuinely nice people who care about CFA and the members over many decades of loyal service. They have all been heavily invested and made a huge contribution to CFA. Their continual focus in putting people first is something many will connect with both on an personal and team leve...l. I'm sure many CFA members have benefited from their great leadership, mentoring and commitment over their many years of service. Salt of the earth community minded members who have gone out of their way to develop many great practical Firefighters that are throughout CFA today. Good to see such fine members receiving this prestigious award for their signficant contribution to the fire service. Well done and well deserved.

12.01.2022 Our members have played an incredibly important role in keeping the community safe in 2020. Well done!

06.01.2022 Great reflections from CFA Peer Allan Cracknell to coincide with R U OK Day today. There's always more to say after "R U OK?" Ask ... Listen Encourage Check-in https://www.ruok.org.au/join-r-u-ok-day https://news.cfa.vic.gov.au/-/east-gippsland-peer-reflects-

06.01.2022 Wildfires on the west coast (US) predicted to be the worst on record with further losses expected over coming days. Extremely dry fuels, strong winds and higher than average temperatures spreading many fires, some now breaking all previous records. Fire intensity and the unusual weather pattern assisting in the creation of its own fire fuelled weather pattern. Very dangerous and difficult conditions for Firefighters and the community. This serious situation made all the more... challenging during the COVID-19 pandemic. Firefighters and communities on the frontline; stay safe.

05.01.2022 Great work by local CFA Brigades and FFMV with air support on the Peninsula on New Years Day. Local community assistance providing their support (water and meals) on a busy public holiday is appreciated. Job well done by everyone who assisted in this difficult to access fire.

04.01.2022 RIP Firefighter Darren Fellows. Your valuable contribution to CFA Mallacoota Fire Brigade and the local community will never be forgotten. On behalf of the CFA South East Region our sincere condolences to your lovely family.

03.01.2022 Thank you for sharing your experience Nary so others can appreciate the importance of a working smoke alarm.
