22.01.2022 It's World Teachers' Day in Victoria tomorrow (Friday 30 October) and this year's theme is 'Teachers: leading in crisis, reimagining the future'. This certainly reflects the commitment and flexibility of teachers as they've taught during the pandemic! Parents and students may be able to think of small ways in which they can recognise and celebrate the incredible contributions of teachers at Chairo this year.

19.01.2022 A Call to Prayer on Thursday 8 October is a Christian Schools initiative. Anyone interested in joining this short time of prayer is encouraged to do so if possible.

18.01.2022 Our Year 12 students celebrated their final day of formal schooling yesterday with a full schedule of memorable activities, including dressing as characters from their childhood, presenting gifts to teachers at morning tea, sharing a special lunch together and attending a graduation assembly.

15.01.2022 Just prior to the latest restrictions, Drouin Year 6 students enjoyed four days of great weather and exciting activities at Camp Coolamatong. Amongst other things, students met a 300kg cow named Boss, fired the giant catapult, cooked delicious bush tucker and even sampled some indigenous cuisine with Auntie Cass ... but their favourite activity, for some reason, was being allowed to capsize their canoes in icy water at the end of the session! In these unusual tunes, it was a privilege to be able to attend camp and enjoy the freedom and adventure that it brought. Thank you to Amy and all of the Coola leaders for a great experience!

15.01.2022 The students in the Senior School Senate are running a Trivia Night on Wednesday 16 September. In a crazy year when many of the usual events organised by and for students have been unable to happen, let's support this one in a big way.

11.01.2022 A big three weeks have finally arrived for Year 12 VCE students sitting their final exams, with most getting underway with English this morning. It's been a challenging year and we now pray that they will go into each of their exams feeling calm, fresh and well-prepared. Lord, give all students good recall and use of time so they will know that they've performed to the best of their God-given ability, and help them to know that you've got everything under control.

11.01.2022 This position has been filled in an 'acting' capacity this year but we are now advertising to make a longer-term appointment as Deputy Principal in Traralgon.

09.01.2022 While Remembrance Day commemorations across the state looked very different this year due to restrictions, many ceremonies still went ahead and were livestreamed. Thank you to Chairo Year 11 student Nathaniel Jackson, who played the last post in Warragul this morning at the Baw Baw Shire Council Remembrance Day ceremony. Lest we forget. https://www.facebook.com/bawbawshirecouncil/videos/1506038893120295

They enjoyed three days of exciting activities such as the flying fox, a water slide, archery, a bush hike, crate climbing, riddle hunting and more! Teacher Melissa Rees reported: 'The students enjoyed their time together as they shared in laughter and fun, encouraging each other along the way. It was a blessing to have been able to share this time with such a beautiful group and a fantastic way to end our year.'
