18.01.2022 Our Guest Speaker for Monday 9th November is Sue Collins from Advocare - to give us advice re Aged Care information. Advocare (an independent, community based, not for profit organisation) is participating in the National Aged Care Navigator Trial, a government funded trial to help people who are struggling to understand the use of the aged care system and who need help to access aged care supports or information about aged care options. The Trial is particularly aimed at hel...ping people who: Live in rural or remote areas Have a diverse cultural background Identify as gender diverse Have limited access to internet or other technologies Are vulnerable, isolated, homeless, disadvantaged or impaired Have dementia or mental health problems Are unlikely to seek aged care support without assistance from others Assistance is free, confidential, client directed and available to any person 65+ years and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders the age is 50+ years. There is also provision for those who have aged prematurely due to life experiences ie homelessness, substance abuse, low income and who are at risk of homelessness. Sue is the Aged Care Navigator for the Midwest of WA, concentrating in the Geraldton area. We would love you to come and join us at our branch and also listen to our Guest speaker for November.
