22.01.2022 Champions Academy for Schools is back bigger and better than ever!
19.01.2022 One month ago today we kicked off the Next Gen of Eyre kids conference, an event where primary and secondary school students across Eyre Peninsula were taught how to think like problem solvers and entrepreneurs, so that they can contribute to their community in a way that actively shapes the future that they want to grow up in. Let's relive the official opening address given by Mayor Dean Johnson of Kimba District Council, our event partners in bringing the Next Gen of Eyre t...o life! 18.01.2022 Not all superheroes wear capes...but these two certainly did today! Gemma and Mel delivered our all new "Superheroes" program to a fantastic group of Year 3 students at St Joseph's School Port Lincoln today. Thank you for having us St Joes, we can't wait to hear about all the ideas your superheroes are coming up with! Thanks to Marie for the great snap. ... #championsacademy #champsinschool #superheroes #values #rolemodels #leadership #education
07.01.2022 It’s that time of the year when many of us are kicking the footy and netball season off. For us here at Champions Academy, it is exactly the same! We’re gearing up now for the launch of the 2020 season by sharing this clip from last years Ambassadors and Mentors who undertook the Eyre Peninsula CA Clubs Program. If you’ve been thinking about doing this program, let your club know so that they can put things in place for the season ahead Expressions of Interest will offici...ally open on 1st of March. A massive shout out to last years CA tribe who left a legacy they can be proud of #leavealegacy Ethan Grigg, Nicholas Gale, Megan Hornhardt, Erin Martens, Beth Churchett, Bec Arnold, Donna Bowey, Kelsey Kay, Fergus Slape, Saxon Kay, Vanessa Boehm, Hannah Zerk, Jake Bamman, Brad Wake, Ashton Bates, Brooke Ramsey, Hannah Forrest, Max Fauser, Bryce Hampel, Ryley Maitland, Corinne Tucker, Madi Chambers, Jack Chinnery, Jesse Robinson, Shylie Harris, Amber Pengelley. 06.01.2022 'The Influencers' Last week we rolled out our full day "Influencers" program to the St Joseph's School Port Lincoln Year 5s and we had a blast! The day was all about recognising that while people influence you, you also influence others.... We worked collaboratively in our 'tribes' learning the different ways that influence works, how to set good examples and lead the way for good outcomes. #champsinschool #championsacademy #influencers #teamwork #leadership Thanks for having us back St Joes!
04.01.2022 For the foreseeable future, our Flagship CA Program will not be delivered onsite at sporting clubs. Clubs all around the country (no doubt, the world), have had their season postponed or cancelled. The sad part about this is that our sporting clubs are the heart and soul of so many communities, especially in rural regions. They aren’t just a place where people turn up to play sport. They are a place where:... Children learn by example how to be active contributors to their community Value systems become deeply ingrained, such as the importance of volunteerism as a contributor to community resilience and sustainability People experience personal development and often become leaders, advocates, ambassadors and agents of change within or on behalf of their community People learn essential life skills from involvement in committees or team structures A strong social network supports families and individuals who are experiencing times of trauma and hardship Now, more than ever, our communities need the support systems, mateship and break from day-to-day pressures. So we’d like to help clubs to keep their community members engaged, lift their spirits, strengthen their systems and operations with the downtime they may have right now. Over the coming weeks and months we will be giving clubs a bunch of ideas and strategies to keep the wheels turning, strengthening the business and raising morale of members. | COMMUNITY CHAMPIONS & | | CHAMPION COMMUNITIES | #clubland edition 1 Our first episode is a reshare of something pretty cool that we’ve seen posted by a member of Tasman Football Club in Port Lincoln SA, by Tara Reinke. Why not challenge YOUR club members to share their own video, coaching tip, training drill, recipe or resource for staying fit in body/mind and on their game? Come up with a club hashtag and get people to use it with each post, to create a sense of club unity and inclusion in this time of isolation. Remind them that on or off the field/court, they still are a part of the tribe. And the tribe has their back.
