07.01.2022 During the peak of COVID-19 the government brought in temporary Medicare subsidies for general practice. A small incentive payment was introduced for providing bulk billed medical services especially to those vulnerable to COVID-19. We understood that not only was our community facing serious health risks with COVID-19, but also many would be struck with financial strain.... The temporary subsidies assisted us to offer our normal quality health care at bulk billed rates for concession card holders, children under 16 years old and those vulnerable to COVID-19. From 1st of October 2020 the bulk billing incentive will be significantly reduced and the temporary COVID-19 incentive payment will cease. What does this mean for our patients? After careful consideration we have decided to reinstate a small gap for patients with a concession card and children over the age of 10 years. This fee applies to BOTH face to face appointments and telehealth consults. Billing decisions will remain with the individual doctor, and we are mindful that there will be occasions where it is appropriate to bulk bill particularly in times of financial strain. If at any time you are having financial issues, or have concerns about your capacity to pay then please discuss this with your doctor or Jacky our business manager. A full list of our fees is available at reception. Chandlers Hill Surgery
