25.01.2022 Getting very close now. I just need a 12mm drill bit to make those 2 Pilot Holes the correct diameter for the 2 Push/Push Toggle Switches which I have inside the box, then mount them & it's aaall goood.

25.01.2022 So, a Chaos Custom Guitars Wiring Configuration Kit would consist of a few small wooden boards ready to go. All you have to do is attach the Insulated mini Alligator Clips I'll have attached to the "To Pickups" wires, plug in your guitar cable or wireless transmitter and test. Disconnect the "To Pickups" wires from the pickups, & attach the next board to them. Test & repeat for all the configurations you wish to test out, then either reinstall the board you want to go with... or replicate it. I could have a kit for a 2 Passive Pickup setup which would consist of some Master Volume & Tone controlls, Independant Volume & Tone for each pickup, a Phase In/Out between both pickups (or within a single humbucker, if I use 4 wire buckers) mini toggle, Coil Splitting mini toggles or a push/pull pot, etc... Have a similar kit for 4 wire Passive Pickups. And also a kit for 2 wire Active Pickups. You can always purchase a single board or few for a lower initial cost if you only need a couple & not 1/2 a dozen or so, & maybe add another one or few at a later date. ;) I can do this, easy peasey!! :D I only need to transfer this to a 2mm-3mm thick small piece of wood and add a 3-Way Toggle Switch & a few more short leads with Alligator Clips to connect "To Pickups", & shorten the Capacitor tangs & this is one single, quite simple 2 Volume 2 Tone wiring configuration for a pair of 2 wire passive pickups. For a Les Paul or SG the pots would be either A500k Ohm (Volume), & B500k Ohm (Tone), or possibly 250k Ohm for either or both. These are gonna turn out really nice I reckon.

25.01.2022 Now that I have the right tools, I can complete my Sustaine Pedal (I spelled it like Mustaine purposefully. ). All I gotta do is swap the switch sitting atop it for the HD Push/Push Toggle Footswitch & drill the 5 holes into the Aluminium Box I got to house it in. 1 hole each side (or 2 in the upper end? I am still undecided on this. ??? LOL) for the Input & Output Sockets, 1 at the lower end of the top face for the Switch, & 2 smaller holes in the upper end of the t...op face for the Green & Red LED's. I need to swap the Red LED for a Green 1 to indicate it has Power, & then wire in the Red LED connected to a different point for it to indicate when the Sustain is Off (Unlit) or On (Lit). I will also have to put either a piece of clear plastic film or a thin layer (or 2 of whichever I decide to go with?) of high density foam inside to protect against shorting the PCB out on the Box. That's all easy enough. Although I'm too tired to bother doing this job right now. Later, after I've slept some.

23.01.2022 I've just repaired my old DOD Death Metal stomp box.

20.01.2022 How bou' da'? All fekkin' DONE! Bleedin' beaut job, if Ah doo say so MahsElf.

19.01.2022 Alrighty then... here we have a Chaos Custom Guitars Wiring Configuration Board that has switchable Parallel/Series pickup connection via the Push/Pull Tone pot (Tone 2). With both pickups selected and the Tone 2 pot Pushed (In/Down position) the pups are wired Parallel in relation to each other (Standard pup wiring), & with both pickups selected and the Tone 2 pot Pulled (Out/Up position) the pups are wired in Series. Series wiring gives you both a Volume & Midrange boost, therefore having the Push/Pull Parallel/Series switch gives you more tonal options.

18.01.2022 I just completed my first Chaos Custom Guitars paid repair job - the replacement of a Tone potentiometer on a mates' Fender Strat. Now, to find more jobs to do. :)

18.01.2022 Okay, so I've added the 3-Way Pickup Selector Toggle Switch & the Input Jack Socket & neatened it up a tad by shortening the "legs" on the Capacitors. I am just awaiting the insulated Alligator Clip wires to solder onto this Chaos Custom Guitars Wiring Board to quickly & easily connect to the Pickup wires. This wiring configuration is a Standard Modern LP wiring that allows independant Volume control of each pickup with both pickups active, the Tone dials both operate as a Ma...ster Tone - although, this 1 has 100k pots instead of 500k for use with my EMG Active Pickups, so I have to wire in the 9V Battery Clip to power them also, & am going to add a 2-Way Toggle for 9V/18V operation. Then I make the same with both 50k & 20k pots to test & see the difference in Volume and Tonal Output between differing valued pots. ;) I still need to find some 2-3mm thick plywood to make these up on. This is just a prototype version at this stage. The final finished product will be better. You will have a choice of top quality or a cheap chinese component "budget" version. Note: The non-budget with quality components will most likely sound a little better (smoother, creamier?) & will most definitely last longer before pots start crapping out on ya. ;) See more

16.01.2022 I've done some wiring yesterday/last night & this morn. This is a Master Volume & Tone configuration for a pair of Passive Pickups (Single Coil or standard 2 wire Humbuckers). The Capacitor is .047uF, which should make it slightly muddier with more bass-end, with 100k Ohm pots (I need to make the next on a thin wooden base like the one I'm about to upload in a minute, using 500k pots & .022uF caps). I only need to attach an Input Jack Socket & a 3-way Toggle Switch to complet...e this wiring configuration ready to attach to the pickups of a guitar to test this configuration. I'll be making some others too. So all I have to do is disconnect the pickups from this & reconnect them to the next one I want to try, & the next, & so on. Choose which configuration I like then wire the guitar that way. Noiiice 'n' easy!! :D When I get the components I'm going to make up sets to start selling for other axe builders to be able to easily test different configurations, then replicate the one they choose to go with. They could even be installed straight into a guitar. Full instructions would be included, of course. Chaos Custom Guitar (& Bass) Wiring Configuration Kits. Awesome! Fucking BRILLIANT idea!!!! ;) See more

16.01.2022 I am making a dual footswitch for my 80W Peavey Bandit 112 Amp as the 1 for it costs about AU$85. I got all I need to make my own for about AU$30-35. All I have to do now is drill a few holes in the Aluminium box I have to house it in & voila, my home-made dual footswitch. Switch 1 (Top, the 1 with the Blue wire) is my Channel Selector Switch to change from Clean to Mean, & Switch 2 (Bottom, with the White wire) is the Reverb On/Off Switch. I'm going to have to detach the plug to feed the cable through the hole I need to drill through the box, then reatatch it afterwards, but I need it all connected to test before bothering to house it in the box, so...

15.01.2022 Alrighty then, back to work we goes! I started this one last night but ended up adding an extra ground wire that was unneeded (removed it again when I realised) due to overtiredness. This one is to test my EMG 85 & 60 pair of Active pups. It has (or will have) an independant Volume for each pup when both selected & the Push/Pull Tone 2 pot will be a Phase In/Out Switch to switch the bridge pup (pickup 2) in & out of phase with the neck pup. I'm also adding a 2-way toggle swi...tch for Volume Cut/Bypass. :D I will also have to make a 20/25K Ohm pot version & a 50K, both the same only with different value potentiometers for a more or lesser degree of tonal control, as higher value pots have a wider bandwidth. Then, I will make all 3 yet again with higher value capacitors. 15.01.2022 Between places at the moment, so not able to get any work done on my SG Kit Guitar build. No workspace.

11.01.2022 Is there anyone wanting to build their own guitar or rewire their existing axe? Get a Chaos Custom Guitars Wiring Configuration Kit or few to make selecting a suitable configuration quick & simple. I've taken most of the hassle out of you having to wire up all the various configurations you might want to try in your guitar before you have to make use of a soldering iron yourself until you know which wiring you like best for the particular build. And if you're not planning on ...building a bunch with the same configuration (though maybe a bunch with different configurations?) you could always install the wiring board you've chosen straight into the guitar. Just snip off the "To Pickups" alligator clips and solder the pickup wires where they need to go & go grind that axe! Chaos Custom Guitars Wiring Configuration Kits - making your wiring configuration testing and selection a very simple plug 'n' play affair. See more

08.01.2022 Anybody need the eletrics in their guitar repaired or replaced? Want a different wiring configuration for different tonal options? Hit me up via a message on my Chaos Custom Guitars page, or email: [email protected] (until I set up a chaos custom guitars email account). Cheers.

07.01.2022 Alrighty then... I got 2 new wiring board prototypes made today. :) The 1st was a test to see if I can bypass the Volume pot/s altogether but still have the Tone pot/s wired in for tonal control, as a fb friend was asking me about removing his Volume pot that's in the way. No problemo!... The 2nd is a Coil Cutting Push/Pull Tone pot configuration - aka Jimmy Page wiring (well, one of many. lol) - which allows me to turn my humbuckers into a pair of single coils, wired Out Of Phase with one another when both pups are selected. I made 2 small mods to the wiring: the 1st, I swapped the "In from Pickup" & "Out to Switch" wires connected to the Volume pots to enable independant volume control of each pup when both are in use, & the 2nd, I moved the "Pickup Series Link" alligator clip from the top lug to the bottom lug on the switch part of the Push/Pull pots so that the pickups are humbucking with them pushed down, or normal playing, but switch to one coil in the Up position (this is opposite to how the wiring diagram shows). It all works a treat. No worries, mate!! :D Pictured is the "No Volume Control" wiring I attempted. This 1 is just the Input Jack Socket, a 3-way Pickup Selector Toggle Switch, & 2 Tone pots with Capacitors tested using a pair of humbuckers, though it can easily enough be adapted to suit a 3 Single Coil, 5-way Switch setup as in a Fender Strat. My only mod for this configuration I'd personally add would be a Volume Bypass Switch to cut the noise altogether when not playing. ;) Noiiice!

05.01.2022 And here is my Chaos Custom Guitars' modification of the Jimmy Page wiring. :D

02.01.2022 Did a Custom Wiring job on my Cheapo SG.
