17.01.2022 Everything in moderation! The vitamins A, D, E and K are fat soluble, which means they can be stored in the body. Taking high doses of these vitamins, especially vitamin A or D, over a long period of time can result in harmful levels in the body unless you have a medically diagnosed deficiency. Some of the water soluble vitamins can also cause side effects in high doses. For instance, vitamin B6 has been linked with nerve damage when taken in large doses.

14.01.2022 What we are doing to limit Covid2019 spread and to protect our community As some of our customers may have noticed already, we are taking all possible precautions to limit covid2019 virus spread and have implemented new procedures around our daily pharmacy services delivery. 1First, we have installed an intercom outside the pharmacy to communicate with customers who may have an infectious illness. This helps ensure they can be served by our pharmacist whilst minimisin...g face to face contacts with other people. 2Second we have marked clearly inside the pharmacy safe distance separation between people in line with new government distancing rules. 3Third we have placed hand sanitisers around the pharmacy so that people can use them freely to sanitise their hands. 4Fourth, we have ensured our staff are wearing face masks to ensure they are protected while interacting face to face with other people. 5Fifth, we are continuously cleaning surfaces, door handles and other exposed areas with appropriate chemicals to minimise transmission of pathogens 6Sixth, please be aware our free home delivery service is always available, if you are sick or unable to come to the pharmacy, we will happily deliver to your home. However, we would like to note that we are prioritising this service currently for our elderly customers or those that are critically ill. I would like to reassure all our customers we are always adapting our approach as the covid2019 situation changes, we are constantly monitoring infection spread within our area through maintaining contact with local health authorities and other health service providers within the area. As such we are more likely to apply additional measures to ensure the safety and health of customers and staff. 02.01.2022 Many people will be asking, should I get the flu shot when it offers no protection against covid19? The answer to that question is twofold; (1) Without thinking about the current covid19 pandemic, the common seasonal influenza viruses can leave many people feeling ill with some requiring hospitalisation just as much as covid19. Seasonal influenza can cause severe illness or death especially in people at high risk. Which is why it is highly recommended for all people to get ...the annual flu shot (except those with serious contraindications to the flu vaccine ) (2) Now taking into consideration the covid19 pandemic its especially important to get the seasonal flu vaccine this year because in doing so we are (a) reducing the number of hospitalisations and consequently the pressure on our already stretched health system - this enables all our efforts to be devoted towards those critical cases and save more lives ! (b) because covid19 virus symptoms can mimic those of the seasonal flu, when you get the flu shot, and you do get those symptoms afterwards; it is reasonable to assume those symptoms are due to covid19 and hence it may warrant getting tested for covid19 rather than waiting it out. Now theres a caveat to the above statement ; this assumes that your body has built the necessary immunity after getting the flu shot to this years virus strains - there are a number of factors that can affect that which I wont discuss in this post but happy to explain if needed.
