Then, as now, there are always new teachers and prophets with charisma, flair, and a strong following who will tempt believers to leave the fundamentals of the faith to embrace the "new thing" G...od is saying or doing. it is imperative to know something more about the leader than just their gifting. Are they accountable to others? How is their family life? Do they treat others with love and respect? Do they follow through on their commitments? Do they teach sound doctrine, or do they emphasise marginal doctrines or focus only on one aspect of truth? Continue in the things you are sure of. 22.01.2022 Don't allow worry and fear to get a stronghold in your thinking! 1 Peter 5:6-7 "Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you."... God's Word teaches us to be proactive when it comes to cares and concerns. We don’t have to be held hostage by negative emotions. Some people become bitter and disheartened because they haven’t learned to count it all joy. Instead of overcoming and getting better with every challenge, they're just barely surviving and living to tell about it. God’s will for us is to be victorious overcomers, not just survivors. Victory in life is ours, but it’s not automatic. Praising God in the midst of a trial causes us to grow and improve as we go through the experience. We can come out on the other side better than when we began. Instead of being a victim, we can come out a victor!

22.01.2022 Charis Behind the Scenes.Our Mission: To LOVE and SERVE. Then the King will say, ‘I’m telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was meyou did it to me.’ Matt 25:40 MSG This past month our 2nd year students had the privilege of partnering with a local community outreach on a mission to spread the love of God! They spent 9 days serving practically and tirelessly, seeking to bless and determined to be a demonstratio...n of love poured out - imitators of Christ! Many lives were impacted, healed, saved, and set free. One of those lives was a little girl in rural QLD. The team had served all week on the Gold Coast, and then packed, travelled all day, and woke early the next to prepare a pop up ‘Op Shop’ for this community. Part of the fun was a big jumping castle to bless the children - and they came from all over town! A few of the students that were supervising the children kept telling them Jesus loves you, and began to sing the song Jesus loves me over them. Every time the students said or sang Jesus loves you, one little girl, about 7 years old, would snap back at them, No he doesn’t, No he doesn’t! She was adamant, but they just kept on telling her the truth that Yes, Jesus loves you! And, at her request, showed her where it says so in the Bible. Throughout that day whenever one of the Charis students would see this little girl they would exclaim to each other with joy and excitement look, there’s the little girl that Jesus loves! They would watch a smile appear on her face, reluctantly at first, as she would run off to play. But she kept coming back to them, and each time she did they would pause to publicly recognise the little girl that Jesus loves. On the last day before returning to the Coast, the Charis team was gathered to pray. Just then, the little girl unexpectedly popped her head in the door of the building, and everyone, all at once seeing her, exclaimed ah look, it’s the little girl Jesus loves! She beamed from ear to ear and ran under their hands to be prayed for and blessed. Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." (Matthew 19:14) Over the course of a couple days the Charis students sowed seeds of God’s unconditional love and grace into this little girl’s life - seeds that will impact her future and grow into a beautiful harvest. We have to appropriate our faith to see the goodness of all that God says He is. God wants us healed and wants us well! 19.01.2022 Fear is faith in reverse. Instead of having the perception that we need to try to build huge amounts of faith to overcome our fears and unbelief, a simpler and more powerful method is to remove our fears by cutting off their source! How can we do that? We do that by being mindful of where we place our focus daily. We could confidently say that fear begins as a thought that contradicts the God's great plan for your life. So what does God's Word teach us about dealing with tho...ughts? Romans 12:2 "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." and 2 Corinthians 10:4-6 "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled." God is so for you to succeed in this! He wants to meet you with His enabling grace at the moment of your decision to take authority over your thought life. Just like you might train your physical body through exercise and good nutrition, you can also train your thought life. God wants to help fortify your mind and He does that by revealing what He wants to say specifically to you through His Word each and every day. There's clarity for when you're confused. 19.01.2022 Hope is more powerful than we may realize! In Romans, Paul said hope is something that isn’t seen or present. Once it’s present, there’s no reason to hope for it. If we study the deeper meaning of scripture, we’ll realize that we can see things with our heart. We have to take the Word of God and not just read it, but let it excite our imagination! As long as our hearts are focused on the things above, our mind, body, and spirit will be in perfect peace.

19.01.2022 Charis Behind the Scenes....Everyday life is ministry. Be intentional. And whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Colossians 3:17 We are responsible for planting the seeds, but God gives the increase. Everyday has the potential to advance the Kingdom one seed at a time. ... Leigh and Boyd, current 1st Year Hybrid Students, recently had the opportunity to intentionally practice the lifestyle of evangelism. They, along with their classmates, ventured to a local shopping centre where they determined to bless others with the love of God. Upon arrival, Leigh received the impression from the Holy Spirit that her and Boyd needed to pay for someone’s groceries. Both in agreement, and through the process of accomplishing their own shopping list, God highlighted the people whom He wanted to bless - a middle aged husband and wife. At the grocery checkout, while the wife was focused on searching her wallet, Leigh boldly walked up and tapped her card, paying the grocery bill. The woman was shocked, Wait!, what are you doing? she loudly questioned with a stern, confused tone. Then turning to her husband (who was loading their groceries in the cart) she pointed at Leigh and loudly exclaimed she just paid for our groceries!. Leigh was a bit embarrassed at the attention the commotion drew, but when asked again, why did you do that?, she gently but directly replied because Jesus wanted to let you know how much He loves you. The husband stopped what he was doing and frustratingly replied what did you say?. Leigh looked up at him, I said I did this because Jesus loves you. He then turned to Boyd saying do you agree with this, is this true?, Boyd replied yes I do, and yes it’s true, Jesus is real and He loves you. This man’s hardened disposition softened and tears began to form, nothing like this has ever happened to me before. I’m going to tell my friends about this. This couple thanked Leigh and Boyd over and over and walked away stunned and unexpectedly blessed by the love of the Father. Jesus meets people right where they are at - full of grace and truth. It’s easy when you let Him. Ask the Holy Spirit, He will show you, then be obedient to whatever He tells you to do! Be intentional wherever you are, in whatever you are doing. Plant the God kind of love - one seed at a time. Your everyday life is your ministry.

16.01.2022 If we couldn’t count it all joy, the Lord wouldn’t have instructed us to do so! It’s crucial not to let the cares of the world ruin our lives by allowing worry and fear over circumstances to get a stronghold in our thinking. There’s no doubt that we’ll have tribulations in the world, but we don’t have to be held hostage by negative emotions if we can count it all joy. Remember to praise God in the midst of a trial and instead of being a victim, you can come out a victor! 14.01.2022 God’s strength never changes even if our weakness does. Sometimes we may feel powerless or even defeated just going through the motions of everyday life. Regardless of our struggles or situation, the Word of God says we can still have the joy of the Lord because it is our strength. In order to believe for bigger things, we must get out of the mindset of feeling unworthy. 10.01.2022 Most Christians today aren’t able to take full advantage of their redemption because they lack understanding of God’s grace. They believe God has the power to meet their needs, but they doubt His willingness to use that power on their behalf because they know they aren’t what they should be. In other words, they feel that their sin stops God’s grace. But that’s not what God’s Word teaches. ... Under the New Covenant Jesus put into effect, right standing with God comes as a free gift to everyone who will believe (Rom. 4:3-5, 5:18). Yet the faith to believe is tied to the knowledge we have (2 Pet. 1:3-4). If we think our performance is a qualification for God’s blessing, then we’ll never walk in God’s best not because we doubt God’s ability but because we are all too aware of our inability. This enables us to tune into the Holy Spirit, and walk by the Spirit, which in turn empowers us to "not fulfill the lust of the flesh" (Galatians 5:16). 06.01.2022 Oftentimes, we find ourselves trying to figure out what it is that we’re supposed to be doing with our lives. The truth of the matter is God already has amazing things planned for us, we just have to seek Him first. If we think the Holy Spirit is speaking or leading us to do something and it causes any kind of negative emotion, then it’s probably not God’s will. God only has our best interest at heart, which means His plans can only produce love! When we know and focus on something - or rather Someone - good, that will enable us to discern what is evil. Most people, including Christians, see the forgiveness of sins as something that God can do, and continues to do, but not as something He has completed. From that comes the false concept that we must constantly confess our sins, which makes and keeps us sin conscious. But that's not the life God intended us to have!

Likewise, I tended to minimize my own ideas and opinions because I was never that confident about many things. That was weakness, not meekness.
