25.01.2022 I believe James Weir ( my father ) was the RSM when this happened. Found out from his piper. It caused him immense pain at the time and later.
21.01.2022 More cousins, Cathy Hamilton (née Allan ) aka Kitty DNA results arrived today along with Elaine Buskie. I had seen some other Buskies on another site but not quite sure where they fit in yet. This never gets dull. Super excited to see the new function in Ancestry and ability to connect the DNA matches in the tree now.

This week a brand new baby in Canada and a confirmation of a fourth cousin in New Zealand, been chatting to her for a while and was sure we connected but it’s nice to see the DNA. 14.01.2022 Someone once told me that every idea has its day. I saw this in 2016 for the first time and kept it but i didn't necessarily take any heed. It was a stressful time in my life and I ended up with pnuemonia in November and December 2016. It seems apt to have found it today.
03.01.2022 Well, who would have thought, 12 months has gone past already. This time last year I discovered who my father was after a small mistep looking at my uncles children by mistake. Turns out I had been talking to my big sister for over a week thinking she was my cousin. While we havent met in person yet several of my "siblings" "nieces" and "cousins" have made me feel very welcome indeed. 2020 is the time we will get to be face to face for the first and hopefully not only time.... I have been lucky enough to have seen shared photos and stories including ones from people that knew dad from the regiment which has been quite a thrill. He and his brothers are known as the "charming rascal Weirs" and my book is coming along albeit slowly as I am back in the part time workforce and also writing a book about something else. Big sis says I am not be able to publish the family one until she is gone! Thanks to all who helped. DNA Is great. Facebook stalk is something else again. See more
