23.01.2022 Darrin Gay and CHD Motorsports make History for ETS Racing Fuels in Australia. The CHD Motorsports team are the first team to acknowledge running the ETS XPD10...5 (the answer) in Sydney a week ago, and did it in style. Smashing the ET National Record by a tenth, and the MPH record with a best run of 7.638 @ 178.35 mph, beating the old ET record of 7.73 and 177.65 mph. Congratulations to Darrin and the CHD Motorsports team, as well as all their team partners S&S Heavy Haulage, Comlek Group of Companies, Peter Ridgeway Motorsport and Black Magic Clutches. 21.01.2022 Well, what a massive weekend for the team. With the event postponed from last weekend due to the rain, the decision was made that some of the crew would stay in Sydney with the truck for the week and do some repairs which were suffered during the 2000km journey from the CHD Workshop in sunny North Queensland. The rest of the team flew home and would all return to race on Australia Day weekend. The weekend at Sydney Dragway had a slow start due to some more of the wet stuff f...alling Friday morning, which meant we were down to only 2 qualifiers on Friday afternoon. After a quick team meeting it was decided we would load a clutch setup that we knew would get us down the track. Happy with the respectable 7.69 @ 177.00 the brains trust came up with a killer plan for the second qualifier which saw the air conditions marginally more favourable and some tropical juice loaded in. The car was like a bullet 7.62 @ 177.88 breaking both ET and Speed National records. Needless to say the team was ecstatic with that result landing us in the number 3 spot collecting some extra bonus points for the championship series. Saturday, Elimination racing! With Friday’s data, a few minor changes were made and off we went to round 1 of racing. Darrin had his A game on with an 0.040 reaction. Out in front he pushed the clutch in and took the win. Round 2 saw Darrin’s A game back with a 0.010 reaction. Taking the win again with a 7.65 & 170mph. Next up was the Semi Final, this one was going to be a tough race up against a paddock neighbours Adrian Vella. Once again the brains trust came up with a game plan that would give us the best possible shot at taking a win. With Darrin on his A game still he went 0.087 on the tree and running 7.63 @ 178.35 furthering the national Speed record from yesterday’s 177.88. Unfortunately it still wasn’t enough to take the win light against Adrian. The weekend was marked a massive success and a step in the right direction whilst taking home some valuable championship points in the 400 Thunder Sportsman series which continues on Good Friday at Willowbank Raceway. Attending these events are a massive effort from all of the team. 11.01.2022 Willowbank Raceway | Drag Racing's Finest has regretfully announced that the Santo’s Super Thunder Championship Drag Racing event scheduled for Good Friday, April 10 has been cancelled due to the threat posed by the Covid-19 virus. Let’s hope we all come out the other side in time for the Gulf Western Oil Winternationals. In the mean time continue to support your local suppliers.

01.01.2022 The Board of Wllowbank Raceway has been constantly monitoring the current situation regarding restrictions imposed around the country as a result of the Covid-1...9 Virus. With the current status of border closures between Victoria, NSW and Queensland, the board has been left with no option but to CANCEL the 2020 Gulf Western Oils Winternationals scheduled on the weekend of 17 -20 September 2020 due to a lack of ability for competitors to attend Willowbank Raceway. The Board is very disappointed with having to make this decision, but in order to host the truly national event, all states should be represented and this is not achievable under the current circumstances. The Board has determined that any competitor that has been entered in this year’s event, will be offered a transfer of their entry fee to next year’s event with no price increase applied for any competitors that accept this offer. Spectators that have purchased tickets to this year’s event, will be offered a transfer to next year’s event with no additional price increase from this year’s event. Importantly, both these offers will ensure that these ticket holders and competitors are locked into this year’s pricing. Willowbank Raceway will be in contact with all competitors and ticket purchasers over the next three weeks, to provide updated information and full details of all the options available to them including transfer, credit or a refund if requested. On a positive note, Willowbank is planning for an event, utilising our Queensland based competitors and if possible those from interstate, which will take place later this year. Those ticket holders that retain their tickets for the 2021 Gulf Western Oils Winternationals will also have as an added bonus, the benefit of being granted exclusive access to purchase tickets to attend this new event being added to our calendar. This bonus will allow them to purchase tickets, prior to going on sale to the general public, under the limited capacity Covid-19 restrictions which remain in place.
