25.01.2022 Recently we went through Assessment and Rating with the Department of Education and Training. This week we received our results and are excited to announce that we received Meeting in all Quality Areas!! Well Done Team and what a great achievement in our first year of operation together!

24.01.2022 The Toddler children have been learning about sustainability within the room, while on our community walk today they immediately noticed all the different bins and began discussing the different forms of recycling that they have been learning about within the room.

22.01.2022 The Kinder children went to the Werribee Zoo yesterday! After the excitement of going on the bus, the children then met one of the zoologist who guided us on a natures calling experience where we were able to learn about habitats. The safari bus was a highlight of the day also, as the children seen a range of different animals. After lunch and some yummy zoo animal cupcakes, the children then chose their favourite animals to revisit around the zoo before returning back to centre, eager to tell everyone of their adventures!

22.01.2022 Keeping cool in the water is one of our children’s favourite activities, today we also enjoyed investigating the different puddles that formed around the yard.

21.01.2022 Today in the new Pre Kinder room the children helped create a new messy learning experience for their dinosaurs. The children have shown a great interest in engaging with and learning about dinosaurs over the past couple of weeks, where will their interests take us next??

21.01.2022 Our Toddler children love our weekly cooking sessions. The children each week decide together as a group what they will be cooking, through choosing a range of their favourite foods and then looking through recipes. Cooking experiences provide opportunities for children to increase their vocabulary, begin to learn about quantities and other mathematical concepts, working within a group, following rules in the form of recipes, and also introduces the children to healthy eating.

18.01.2022 Today at Cheeky Clouds we celebrated Grandparents day! A big thank you to all the childrens loved ones who attended, the children had a fantastic time creating special memories.

17.01.2022 Look how much fun we had celebrating Halloween! Children came dressed in their spooky costumes and engaged with many different learning experiences relating to Halloween throughout the day, for afternoon tea our cook even made us monster cookies!

15.01.2022 Our Toddler children had their first library incursion for the year this week, we met Jessica from our local library who will be making regular visits each term to all our rooms. During our library incursion the children listened to books being read, used props to retell stories and even sang songs together!

14.01.2022 Happy Holi, we loved celebrating the Indian festival of colours with our yoga teacher Priti.

13.01.2022 As NAIDOC week comes to an end, we look to the sea and try another indigenous protein in a child friendly manner. Stacey has provided us with Barramundi pie for lunch. Afternoon tea is her interpretation of bush style damper with Lemon myrtle & dorrigo pepper seasoning.

13.01.2022 Not only is our Christmas tree up but our Kinder children have had a visit from a magical elf! Our Toddler children have also had a kindness fairy arrive, today's act of kindness was to give their friends a great big hug, the children are excited to see what the elf and kindness fairy do leading up to Christmas!

12.01.2022 The Kinder children have been busy preparing for school next year. To assist the children in transitioning to school, our centre cook Stacey has been preparing lunch boxes for the children to enjoy once a week.

11.01.2022 Our Toddler children are exploring life cycles, today we were excited to find a birds nest in our rosemary bush! The children careful observed the baby birds and discussed the life cycle, throughout the day we were also able to watch the mother bird caring for her babies.

10.01.2022 To celebrate National Science Week, the children engaged in a variety of science experiences each day. As we engaged in these experiences the children were guided to make predictions, try out theories, explore trial and error concepts, along with many other scientific concepts.

10.01.2022 Our Toddler and Pre Kinder children spent the day exploring in the sand pit, what began as collaboration to build a giant hole, then turned into a forte, waterhole and construction mud pit. The best part was jumping in the water to cool off and see who could create the biggest splash!

10.01.2022 In recognition of NAIDOC week, Stacey has provided the children with a lunch using elements of Indigenous food. The Bush Kangaroo Stew includes bush herbs (lemon tea tree, mountain pepper & peppermint gum) paired with vegetables known to the children. It allows them to try new tastes in a familiar style.

09.01.2022 Last week the Toddler children began to explore how sail boats are powered, the children created their own sail boat and explored wind power. Today we were lucky enough to have one of our families bring in their sail boat. The children learnt about the sails, how to steer the boat, and the process of raising and packing away the sails.

06.01.2022 The children in our Toddler room loved their first excursion for the year. We explored our local community, visiting the car wash and speaking to one of the workers before heading to a local playground.

06.01.2022 To assist the children in our Kinder room with the transition to school process, the children have begun using lunch boxes once a week that are prepared by our cook Stacey. The children are enjoying the responsibility and independence of opening their food and being responsible for their belongings.

05.01.2022 The Pre Kinder children went to the post office box today, this time we were posting Christmas cards to our penpals. Along the way we met a local shop owner who was kind enough to share a yummy treat with us! After posting our letters it was then time for a play at the park!

05.01.2022 Look how much fun we had during our first Happy Feet Fitness session! The children, sang, danced and laughed with Rach our Happy Feet instructor as they learnt about colours today, we cant wait for our next session when Happy Feet visit on Fridays!

05.01.2022 Today we had Robbie and Emily from Wild Action visit the service to discuss and introduce us to some Australian animals. The children were introduced to various reptiles, mammals and birds, we were able to learn about each of the animals as well as pat the animals if we wanted. Some of the children were given the opportunity to hold the animals and have their photos taken with the wildlife.

04.01.2022 Some of our Toddler and Kinder children enjoyed a morning walk today. We visited the local stores and introduced ourselves to the shop owners who were pleased to see us. The children found a fruit and vegetable store which we are planning to visit next time to purchase our produce for our next cooking experience. On the way back we also enjoyed some time at the local playground.

03.01.2022 The Kinder children have also been on an excursion to the post office box this week, to post their Santa letters! The children cant wait to receive a letter of their own from the North Pole.

01.01.2022 We love having parent helpers at Cheeky Clouds! One of our lovely Kinder parents Kaysie has been visiting weekly to help create our new garden beds. We have learnt many amazing things about gardening from Kaysie and even implemented a worm farm. Our educators and children look forward to seeing Kaysie every week to plant something new!
