22.01.2022 On Wednesday 23/09 we said our final goodbye to our beloved Orca -Australian Champion Trylou Black Orca. It has taken a few days to be able to put this down, as he like all our dogs, horses, other animals, was a part of our family. Grieving is different for everyone and sadly when it’s a life that’s cut short it makes it all that much more painful. Orca was a loved and cherished part of our lives and families, he gave me my Zanna, and many other amazing babies who are imp...ortant to all of us. The doofus boy now sleeps peacefully beside his best friend Diesel (the Devon Rex ). Forever in our hearts and memories. Love you bud.

22.01.2022 Please share. We are regular foster carers for many different types of animals. These 2 girls are our current fosters and they have come such a long way in a very short time and are now ready for their next adventure. ... These 2 girls are an absolute delight. They’re cuddly, love attention, prefer to cuddle in the couch rather than be outside They’re awesome with other dogs, have been fine with our cats, horses and birds. They love walks and don’t pull, they love playing on the bed and adore soft beds!

15.01.2022 For puppy buyers - please do your research. There are many breeders with pups and unfortunately even more greeders. As registered breeders all pups must be pedigree papered. All adult dogs should be fully DNA tested so you are guaranteed no nasty little health issues will pop up! ... Don’t pay more for colour or sex. Don’t be ripped off either! An ethical breeder breeds to better the breed and not just produce pups. Parents should meet breed standard (attached photo). Does your breeder understand their breed or do they call it an English Staffy? There is no such breed as an English staffy, it’s a generalization for a dog of non descriptive breeding that looks a certain way. Research the health risks linked to specific colours and the issues that also come from blue to blue breeding. This particular practice this has been linked to many skin and health problems that leave the new family with costly ongoing vet bills. Research your breeder. Speak with previous puppy buyers - not just people in the last few months but people from years ago. Does your pup have champions in its bloodlines and where? If it’s not the parents then it’s the same as every other dog out there. What makes the breeding dog stand out why should it share it’s genetics? Does it do agility? Obedience? Lure racing? Flyball? Show? Consider what you are spending your hard earned money on and please get value for your money. Are you able to view the parents or at least one? What are the parents temperaments not just to people but other dogs, cats and other animals. What does your puppy come with? What is the pup eating currently? Do you have ongoing support? Will your breeder help you to reach your goals or put you in touch with someone who will mentor you? Are your pups raised in a home and used to everyday interactions? Will your breeder confidently answer your questions or find the answer? A breeder should be an open book for their families, and help mentor them in any avenue they would like to travel. After all your going to be a part of each other’s lives for years to come Erika

09.01.2022 Copied from and written by Sarah @Imalegend Staffordshire Bull Terriers - truth there is so much more in our daily routine .... Our life literally revolves around our dogs it’s not just when you have litters its all year round 24-7 It does not stop our care our duty’s and financial out put continue . I could say so much more but will leave it at that .________________ A life of a breeder A Breeder is one who thirsts for knowledge and never really knows it all, one who wrestles with decisions of conscience, convenience, and commitment. A Breeder is one who sacrifices personal interests, finances, time, friendships, family, friends, fancy furniture, and keep pile carpeting! She gives up the dreams of a long, luxurious cruise in favour of turning that all important Show into this year's "holiday". A Breeder goes without sleep (but never without coffee!) in hours spent planning a breeding or watching anxiously over the birth process, and afterwards, over every little sneeze, wiggle or cry. A Breeder skips dinner parties because that litter is due, or the babies must be fed at eight. A Breeder disregards birth fluid and puts mouth to mouth to save a gasping new-born, literally blowing life into a tiny helpless creature that may be the culmination of a lifetime of dreams. A Breeder's lap is a marvellous place where generations of proud and noble champions once snoozed. A Breeder's hands are strong and firm and often soiled, but ever so gentle and sensitive to the thrusts of a puppy's wet nose. A Breeder's back and knees are usually arthritic from stooping, bending, and sitting in the birthing box, but are strong enough to enable the breeder to Show the next choice pup to a Championship. A Breeder's shoulders are stooped and often heaped with abuse from competitors, but they're wide enough to support the weight of a thousand defeats and frustrations. A Breeder's arms are always able to wield a mop, support an armful of puppies, or lend a helping hand to a newcomer. A Breeder's ears are wondrous things, sometimes red (from being talked about) or strangely shaped (from being pressed against a phone receiver), often deaf to criticism, yet always fine-tuned to the whimper of a sick puppy enquiries. A Breeder's eyes are blurred from pedigree research and sometimes blind to her own dog's faults, but they are ever so keen to the competitions faults and are always searching for the perfect specimen. A Breeder's brain is foggy on faces, but it can recall pedigrees faster than any computer. It's so full of knowledge that sometimes it blows a fuse: it catalogues thousands of good boning’s, fine ears, and perfect heads and buries in the soul the failures and the ones that didn't turn out A Breeder's heart is often broken, but it beats strongly with hope everlasting... and it's always in the right place! Oh, yes, there are breeders, and then, there are BREEDERS!!
