22.01.2022 Dear Red Group Families, Tuesday, December 8th, is Statewide Transition Day, when many of our kinder children are "stepping up" into Prep and attending a Transition Program at their school. At kindergarten, we also provide Transition support on this day for our children and families coming to us next year and therefore THERE IS NO SESSION FOR RED GROUP ON TUESDAY 8th DECEMBER. This year, we are providing transition support to 66 children and families enrolled in 4 year old pr...ograms in 2021 on this day, so we appreciate our current families understanding. 21.01.2022 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and circumstances have made it even more important for us all to stay connected and, for those who are able, be willing to support those around us. We are always here to listen too

20.01.2022 Dear families, The committee would like to advise of some staffing changes to the four-year-old groups for 2021. Our long-standing Blue group teacher, Sam Davies, is taking a well earned break at the end of this year for 12 months. To accomodate Sam’s leave, and the addition of a third 4-year-old group next year, Katie Middleton will now be teaching Blue Group in 2021.... We are in the process of hiring two new Teachers for our Red and Orange 4-year-old groups which we will announce as soon as we can. We are excited about our growth and the changes coming next year. The committee will support the staff in every way possible to ensure an easy transition for our 2021 families and children. Thank you for your understanding and support. 15.01.2022 What’s happening in our local Chelsea community? Kingston Libraries has just released their fun June-July school holiday program for kids, youth and families to be run remotely. A range of free activities are on offer via mailout or online including craft and STEAM kits to do at home, online games (Minecraft, Dungeons & Dragons), author talks (George Ivanoff and Jane Godwin), theatrical performances, cooking classes and science experiments. Our annual short story competition ...for children and youth launches too (27 June), and our daily storytime live stream continues as usual. All activities and events are free, but they do require bookings (except for storytime live stream) so that we can share the links for online content and to be able to mail out kits. 15.01.2022 We have been receiving a lot of enquiries for tours of our kinder. At the moment due to Covid restrictions we are not offering tours, but please keep checking this Facebook page and we will update you as soon as tours of the facility are available. 13.01.2022 We currently have a vacancy in our 4 year old program for the remainder of 2020. This is in our Red group, which attends Tuesday 8.30-3, Thursday 12.45-3.45 and Friday 8.45-2.15. 12.01.2022 The Chelsea Kindergarten community would like to extend our love and support to the Halcro family, who recently suffered a terrible incident in Sydney to the father of one of our three-year-old children, leaving him blinded in one eye. 10.01.2022 Thank you to all of our wonderful families for raising $150.00 for Kids with Cancer. Each group had a terrific time, wearing team colours, singing theme songs and enjoying some footy pies and franks. The money raised will go towards providing education support with kids with cancer.

06.01.2022 Thank you to Marc from Lifeview Aged Care for sharing these wonderful photos of some of the residents with their letters from our kindergarten children! They have been busy working on their replies and we can't wait to receive them. We have started making a book of our letters that the children can revisit when at kinder, and share with their families throughout the year.

04.01.2022 This week at kindergarten, the three and four year old groups have explored Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture through books, stories, song, art, discussion, puzzles and music. Reconciliation Week is a terrific platform for us to actively teach and learn about important historical events in our country and to celebrate this rich culture. This year's theme for Reconciliation Week is "In this together" and it such a fitting theme for our current lives! We have recently developed a Reconciliation Action Plan for our kindergarten and are hopeful that we can build stronger relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in our local communities and getting out and about in nature with our children to promote a deeper connection to the land.
