25.01.2022 If you had driven past the office on Saturday you would have noticed that we had decided not to open, this was due to the Total Fire Bans the CFA had declared for the whole state on Saturday and Sunday. Both Peter and Myself (Renee) have been members of the CFA for a very long time and are both Officers in our local Group, Robert, Samantha and Matthew our children have proudly followed in our footsteps and are all active in there brigades. Matthew left home yesterday to fight... the fires in Gisbourne, whilst both Samantha and Robert both spent the night fire fighting near Riddles Creek. We at Central Highlands Funerals and Thompson Family Funerals are extremely grateful for the efforts the members and families of Emergency Service Agency do. Thank you for your hard work and dedication, for doing the best job you can do even in the worst situations. See more

25.01.2022 Forever grateful to the firefighters and volunteers, always remembering family lost, lives, property and the communities effected then and still. Xxx

25.01.2022 I dont wish to make comment on the main article of the paper but I would like to draw your attention to the lovely pieces of advertising. Central Highlands Funerals to the Right and Memoirs and Memories to the Left, as advised this the first time that the Advocate has advertised in this form and we are both honoured and proud to have given this opportunity. Thank you, we look forward to a long future in Daylesford, Hepburn and it surrounding communities.

23.01.2022 Some don’t like to talk about death, some are afraid of it and some don’t understand it. Others are comfortable with death and dying, others understand it and others are able to accept it. Everybody is different and deals with situations in many different ways. Death is a normal and natural part of life. We are born into this world, and eventually there comes a time that we need to exit this beautiful world.... Many leave this world sooner than others and some live to see their lives capacity. Death can occur in many different ways such as suddenly, unexpected, planned and most of all, peacefully. Some loved ones pass away in the hands of their nearest and dearest and others choose to be alone. Central Highlands Funerals offers a pre-arrangement option. This option allows you to sit in the comfort of your own space with a member of our trusted and professional staff and explain just exactly what your final wishes are. Pre-arranging your own Funeral means that your records are kept on file at Thompson Family Funerals and should the time occur of your passing, we can carry out your wishes, and honour you with a Funeral just as you wanted. It is important to have these arrangements in place as this takes the pressure off your family and friends should they ever need to make arrangements for you. You can talk to us about your favourite music, photos, poems, what clothes you wish to be dressed in at the presence of your passing. You may also like to write your own eulogy. Pre-payment is also an option when pre-arranging your own Funeral. This option means that your Funeral is already paid for and your family are not left with the financial burden of paying for your Funeral. Payment plans are available from as little as $25 per month. If you have any questions in relation to pre-arranging and pre-paying your Funeral, please call Central Highlands Funerals on (03) 5348 4878. Our staff are equipped to answer any questions asked and give you peace of mind information. We are the family caring for your family.

11.01.2022 Today, September 10, is World Suicide Prevention Day. Suicide is the leading cause of death in men and women under the age of 45 in Australia. For every suicide..., there are tragic ripple effects for friends, families, colleagues and the broader community. The theme this year is One World Connected, reflecting the importance that reaching out and forming connections can have in reducing suicide risk. If someone you know might be struggling, reaching out and connecting with them could make all the difference in their life. If you are struggling, you might be amazed at how much better you feel after you reach out for support and take the first steps to recovery. For more advice you can contact our Support Service on 1300 22 4636 or www.beyondblue.org.au/getsupport For more information about World Suicide Prevention Day and to learn about events in your local area, please visit www.wspd.org.au

11.01.2022 Arranging a Funeral for your loved one can be a very difficult time in your life. It is important to have a trusted Funeral Director to help guide and support you through this time. The Thompson Family of Central Highland Funerals strive in their expertise, compassion and respect. All of our staff are trained professionals and will guide you through any stage of grief to make this journey as comfortable as possible for you and your family. Have you ever thought about your own... Funeral? Many people feel afraid at the thought of this. By having your Funeral Pre-Arranged takes the burden off your family when this time arises. You can choose to have your favourite music played, where you wish to be buried/cremated and where your service is to take place; it may be in a Church, at our spacious Memorial Chapel, in the park or even at your own home. By having your own arrangements written down and filed with the Thompson Family, entrusts that your wishes will be carried out and your life will be honoured, exactly how you wanted it to be. Having your Funeral Pre-Paid means that your family dont have the financial stress of paying for your Funeral at a time of grief. You do not have to pay the full amount upfront, and payment plans can be put in place to help you over time. If you are interesting in more information about the arrangement of your own Funeral, please call our office on 03 5348 7878 and speak with one of our friendly staff. We are proud to announce that Central Highlands Funerals are supporters of Natural Burials and Natural Cremations, and will respectfully conduct this upon your wishes. We have an environmentally sustainable range of coffins, urns and shrouds. Having the option available of Natural end of life care, this now means that you can be buried/cremated in only a shroud and no coffin is necessary. It is a very respectful way to honour a loved one in a Natural way. The Thompson Family in association with Fifteen Trees supports our native environment by providing trees to local community groups for planting. We provide support to our native environment as a community kindness and there is no charge to you. One tree is planted for every Funeral Service entrusted into our care. We understand that talking about Funerals can be confronting. With the help of our friendly staff, we make available the option to sit down with you in the comfort of your own home, at our office or a location that best suits you. We are more than happy to arrange a conference individually or in a group if you wish to have your questions answered or listen to the helpful information our trained staff have to present to you.
