24.01.2022 Do you know that Childosophy has a therapeutic and behavioural supports program for children on the NDIS? We offer both one on one and group supports. Our practitioners support participants to understand the reason beneath their behaviours and because the Childosophy process is self directed, it supports children and adults to express what they need. A Childosophy consultation helps participants understand their behaviours and offers a variety of ways to meet these needs... and self-regulate. The supports facilitate self-knowledge, emotional acceptance and growth and the optimal development of personal resources. Our Childosophy NDIS Practitioners overseen by Dr Maxine Therese assist participants to work towards their personal goals and gain greater insight into their lives based on the participant’s specific aims. We have an opening for some more NDIS clients if you are interested or know someone who might be please visit our website to fill out an intake form.

20.01.2022 Does your child get anxious? Instead of fixing or fixating on your child’s anxiety, separation challenges or uncertainty look to the that is driving the behaviours. Anxious behaviours have at root the unmet Need to be Safe and Secure. At such an uncertain and insecure point in history with the current world pandemic we are seeing more anxious children, and many children are feeling uncertain in ways they have not before. ... You can support your child in the following ways to have their Need for Safety and Security met: Meet your child with reassuring actions to them - Don’t push them away, welcome their fears and insecurity. Pause and feel into what you would need yourself when you are feeling anxious and uncertain. Ask yourself the following question - What would I need if I felt uncertain or anxious? See more

19.01.2022 When your child is distracted and cannot focus or when they are critical or fault finding look to the NEED that is driving the behaviours. Distraction and lack of focus as well as fault-finding have at root the unmet Need to See You can support your child in the following ways to have their Need to See met: Have clarity around tasks that need to be done.... Set intentions and be clear with instructions. Reassure your child that they can focus on things that they are interested in so then, how might we make learning tasks for example, interesting for the child? Make space to see and be interested to see what your child sees even if you do think this is possible. Encourage your child’s imagination. This reassurance allows the energy of the need to soften rather than set up unconscious resistance dynamics when it comes to learning. Pause and feel into what you would need yourself when you are feeling unfocused or critical and fault finding? Ask yourself the following question - What would I need if I felt distracted and unfocused or had an over focus on other people’s visions or learning things that had no interest to me? Look at the situation and the environment to find the source of the child’s lack of focus the Need to See perhaps it began with an experience that has been forgotten because it happened a long time ago? Notice that you cannot help a child to be clear of distractions and ready to imagine the next steps for growth and learning. If you do not make the space to allow them to visualise and imagine what they SEE. You can GROW with your child and know that any distractions and critical energies are an opportunity to recognise that we all Need to See our best selves and activate this, and you can begin to allow each other’s vision to be honoured.

18.01.2022 How are we feeling? Parents have needs too, and it is important that we express these needs to our children so that they in turn learn to express their needs. We want to work with the children so that when we have things going on for us, we convey those feelings to them using clear language - not manipulating, not being passive-aggressive and not expecting them to know what we need without using words. This will, in turn, show our children how to express their feelings using clear language. Try I’m tired and frustrated and need a little support, can we work together on this? instead of I’m tired and irritated you kids need to help. Softening the words will soften the response.

15.01.2022 We have come a long way with our understanding of wellbeing in the last decade. Wellbeing is a state of wholeness and unity in self... I have been driven for 20 years to advocate for children to maintain wellbeing in childhood and to stay unified and whole as they grow. ... This ‘idea’ was not an easy one to further, and now it seems surreal to see my idea and words in the New Idea magazine today!! Over many years of researching this idea - I developed the Foundational Needs Model by assigning the seven Needs of our whole soul (body-mind -spirit) as they closely align with the seven principal Chakras beginning in childhood - Not needs that are required to get somewhere, but as an inherent quality of the whole self. Visit www.childosophy.com for a full range of resources based on the Foundational Needs Model.

14.01.2022 A little sneak peek! I wonder what it could be?

09.01.2022 Love this pic from a year ago of the amazing Julia from @yogabirdsuffolk when I was in the UK teaching my first group of international Pure Wonder students. I am definitely missing the warmth of a Northern Hemisphere summer this year! And this week - we commenced filming the Pure Wonder teacher accreditation training. This beautiful program of mindfulness, meditation and movement for our little ones will be released online in the coming months.

08.01.2022 Pure Wonder online is coming! Our Pure Wonder online course is in production and I cannot wait to release it to the world. The Pure Wonder - movement - mindfulness and meditation classes recognise and promote children's wholeness as integrated souls - full of potential. When children know the language of their soul - their feelings [bodies and sensory messages], their thoughts [mind and thought patterns] and their actions in the world [behaviours and issues] they are able... to navigate life situations with an inner ease and outer confidence. This self knowledge establishes foundations for lifelong wellbeing. All Pure Wonder Facilitators are trained in the unique philosophy, theory and practical wisdom of Dr Maxine Thérèse. If you would love to study to become an accredited Pure Wonder facilitator who is then able to teach children this beautiful program, head to our website www.childosophy.com and register your interest. We will keep you updated on course release dates.

08.01.2022 When your child is overwhelmed, hypersensitive or feeling disconnected in themselves and toward others, look to the NEED that is driving the behaviours. Overwhelm and withdrawing or feeling disconnected have at root the unmet Need to KNOW You can support your child in the following ways to have their Need to Know met: Assist your child to see the higher purpose in situations. This self-awareness supports a self-knowledge to be activated. When children are accepted for feel...ing all their sensitivity, they might see a deeper pattern in their experiences and a reason why they keep creating certain situations this empowers them with self-knowledge. Model healthy responses to questions and curiosity. Your child’s Need to Know about the world, themselves, life and death, where they come from are present for them from a very early age. Encourage a self-knowledge in your child by being interested in what they know and what they believe about the world which might be different to what you know or believe. Open to the child’s innate knowing. Pause and feel into what you would need yourself when you are feeling overwhelmed or hypertensive because you don’t always know what your big feelings mean or the reasons that you feel the way you do. Ask yourself the following question - What would I need if I felt overwhelmed or disconnected? Look to the situation and the environment to find the source of the Need to Know from your conditioned environment, perhaps it began with an experience that has been forgotten because it happened a long time ago? Notice that you cannot help a child’s Need to Know by using telling them how to be or what to think. Allowing space for self-reflection and a space to be with them and with their questioning. IF you are not able to be curious and explore the Need to Know -- can you see their feelings of disconnect are a wonderful opportunity to GROW with your child? A disconnected and overwhelmed child helps parents to recognise that we all Need to Know and to be KNOWN for the greatness that we are. Can you feel that?

07.01.2022 We are currently in the middle of our Pure Wonder Teacher Training. It is such a wonder filled journey! This is what one our students said about the course ‘It has been like a constant release of old family/personal patterns (old energies being released) since I have started this course. It caught me by surprise as I was NOT expecting it lol.... Makes me fall in love with the process and the ability to teach this to others. It has been full on, but so insightful. Look forward to continuing this journey together with you and all the other students. DO YOU WANT TO JOIN US TO BECOME A PURE WONDER TEACHER IN 2021? This mindfulness movement - meditation self-discovery process is based on the research of Dr Maxine Therese. With this therapeutic self-awareness children are enabled to communicate their feelings and thoughts as opposed to behaving in certain ways to have their needs met. 06.01.2022 Here is a recent article printed by the New Idea Magazine. I was interviewed last year for an article on the importance of POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS and how we can use the Children's Wellbeing Cards to create positive shifts in the nervous system. I WOULD LOVE TO OFFER A FREE DOWNLOAD OF OUR 'RAINBOW OF NEEDS' CHART TO SUPPORT YOU, AND YOUR FAMILIES, AS WE EMBARK ON A NEW YEAR. To access your free download, please join the ‘Child Led Parenting’ group on Facebook where you will find the download details! 05.01.2022 When your child is defiant or unresponsive to your motivation or suggestions, look to the NEED that is driving the behaviours. Defiance and dismissive behaviours have at root the unmet Need to Act You can support your child in the following ways to have their Need to Act met:... Reassure your child that they have a choice matter even if this is a conversation about possible scenarios open to allowing them to have a say in what they do. This reassurance allows the battle of wills to subside and will soften the resistance rather than set up control dynamics. Model healthy responses to power. Pause and feel into what you would need yourself when you are feeling forced or told what to do. Ask yourself the following question - What would I need if I felt overpowered like I had no choice? Look to the situation and the environment to find the source of the Need to Act from your own power, perhaps it began with an experience that has been forgotten because it happened a long time ago? Notice that you cannot help a child to feel POWERFUL by using force or adding even more emotional demands on their already defensive body. IF you can’t be powerful in a non-dominant way around your child maybe you can see their defiance as an opportunity to GROW with your child. The defiance or resistance helps parents to recognise that we all Need to Act and be allowed to use our own will, otherwise we will find unhealthy ways to do this and force our will on others.

05.01.2022 Childosophy Promotes the Child as Soul with a self-knowledge that supports their best expression in all aspects of their lives. Parenting is an opportunity for our children’s self-knowledge to guide us as they lead the way. This is the complete opposite of what I was told the purpose of parenting was. However, by allowing yourself to explore the child-led prompts you realise that your children really do know what they need. This doesn’t mean it is easy to read the child’...s cues about their needs without becoming caught up in the emotion of it all as we endeavour to be the best parents. The Foundational Needs model supports your parenting because the needs of your children are not able to be met or identified if you did not have these needs met when you were little Join our Child-Led parenting Facebook group and learn about growing together with your children.

03.01.2022 Why Childosophy? In 2003 I returned to University so I could better support little people to be understood by adults. My own children were both at school aged 10 and 8 and I worked as an integration aide in the school they attended. I was frustrated with the ways we were dealing with children on the spectrum and I decided to study psychology. The understandings of the child from the psychological perspective however were not resonant with what I was witnessing in children. A...dult centric, brain biased, and deficient models can never truly support children to grow as whole beings. It became evident to me that we needed a new NEEDS model for the child that allowed them to keep their feelings-thoughts-actions together if we are to support their wholeness. It was through the integration and conciliation of Eastern and Western philosophies, and psychologies of the self that I began to examine the Chakras as a workable energetic needs model that accounts for our human wholeness and can be used every moment from the very beginnings of life. A truly child body centred model. This is a photo of me in 2008. I had travelled to India to present my Foundational Needs Model at The World Congress of Psychology and Spirituality in Delhi. What a joy that was. My Childosophy is the first NEEDS model for children that accounts for their wholeness at each age and stage. It allows adults to look to the reason why the child’s behaviours are present based upon their unmet needs - and was presented to the world stage 12 years ago. All good things take time. Over the next 7 weeks I am going to post some information about each of the 7 Foundational Needs and how they support you and your children.

02.01.2022 Congratulations to our three newest certified Childosophy Children's Wellbeing Practitioners - Julia Fairbrother, Claire Sowden and Louise Bradfield! Julia and Claire trained with me last year in the UK and Louise commenced her Childosophy course online 2019 and completed this year. It is a credit to all of you that you have achieved certification in such an unstable year and have managed to juggle study with isolation, homeschooling and everything else that comes with living through a pandemic. Thank you to all of you for your unwavering support to me and Childosophy and I know all your future clients are blessed to have you as their highly-skilled, intuitive practitioners with such beautiful souls.

02.01.2022 When your child has a tantrum or meltdowns in the form of outburst of overwhelming emotions look to the NEED that is driving the behaviours. Tantrums and meltdowns have at root the unmet Need to Feel. You can support your child in the following ways to have their Need to Feel met:... Reassure your child that their feelings matter even if you cannot understand what the meltdown is about. This reassurance allows the fight to subside and soften rather than set up manipulation dynamics. Model healthy responses to emotions - Pause and feel into what you would need yourself when you are feeling stuck or having a meltdown. Ask yourself the following question - What would I need if I felt overwhelmed and unable to understand all my big feelings? Look to the situation and the environment to find the source of the lack of freedom to feel perhaps it began with an experience that has been forgotten because it happened a long time ago? Notice that you cannot help a child to feel emotionally free by adding even more emotional demands on their already overwhelmed body. IF you can’t feel emotionally FREE yourself when your child is in NEED You may not have come from an emotionally accepting environment in your childhood, NOW you can now GROW with your child and know that the meltdown and tantrum is an opportunity to recognise that we all Need to Feel Free and be free flowing when things are stuck. Perhaps you can move and dance the energy out together!

01.01.2022 Our Children bring forth the trauma of the past and the science of epigenetics applied to inherited trauma has been pivotal in demonstrating that emotions, behaviours and memories lay within our biology. I have always been interested to expand the patterns of influence on our children and on ourselves not just in understanding deep trauma - but to look to the everyday behaviours and ways of coping that are not supporting best growth. When the child is challenged by a beha...viour or the parent is challenged by the child look to the patterns that have been inherited in the way of unmet needs. There will be somewhere in the child’s life or somewhere in the family linage, where one or more of the foundational needs have not been met. If we can support the parent and child to understand this and how it plays out through the child, we can stop projecting unhealthy patterns of living and being unconsciously onto the next generation. For example: Do you feel unlovable? Who in the family feels unlovable too? What is their story about love? Does it mirror yours?

01.01.2022 Our founder Dr Maxine Therese would love it if you could join her new Instagram page. We weren't expecting a new beginning in this way with a page deactivation -- but 2020 has been all about new experiences. We would love you to help us help @dr.maxinetherese begin again.
