24.01.2022 Like most people, Mike Lucas Author, has a silly side and a sensible side The sensible side is used for writing sensible books. And for doing sensible things like going to the bank, eating vegetables and walking his pet giraffe, Edward. Because everybody knows that giraffes do not like silliness. Mike’s silly side writes books like Bad Herbert. Bad Herbert is a very naughty ape who'll do anything for a delicious slice of chocolate cake. Check out his latest challenge here...: https://bit.ly/3iHEsWe and complete the activities Activity 1: Write a poem about an ape (any kind of ape) and send the poem to Mike at [email protected] Mike will read your poem and give you some feedback. Take Mike's email to your in-school coordinator and receive a 30-min stamp in your Passport. Activity 2: Create an orangutan bookmark then send a picture to Mike at [email protected]. Take the bookmark to show your in-school coordinator for an additional 30 minutes. If you want some tips on writing poetry, read some of Mike's POEMS and visit Mike's WRITING TOOLS page. And remember - as long as you stick to the rule, there is no right or wrong way to write your poem. And your poem is as individual as you Larrikin House

22.01.2022 September 22 is International Hobbit Day the shared birthday of the hobbits Bilbo and Frodo Baggins from J.R.R. Tolkien’s books The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy. This celebration is so significant that it actually gets a whole week of celebration, known as Tolkien Week. To honour this momentous occasion, your challenge this month is to create your own fireworks display that would make Gandalf (the wizard who was famous for his fireworks) proud! This is a craft a...ctivity for which you can use any materials you wish. There are example online using materials such as cellophane, cable ties, food colouring, glitter the options are endless so show off your creativity! Once you have completed the activity show your CUA Coordinator or upload a picture in the Portal for a stamp and up to two hours in your passport. Time awarded for this challenge is at the direction of your School Coordinator. We’d also love to see your creation please email or message us on Facebook if you wish to share what you’ve made
