16.01.2022 IRD are sending out letters about estimations made during the covid-19 lockdowns. Check your income screens in myIR to see if you still qualify, you may need to re-estimate at a higher amount and don't forget that includes an annualisation calculation. If you no longer meet the 15% income drop criteria you might need to look at cancelling your estimation. Not sure what to do, we can help make sure your estimation fits your circumstances. If your income has reduced by at least 15% during the lockdown period you can estimate now and be reassessed based on the lower income. Once you return to full time work you’ll need to re-estimate again at what you expect to earn for the rest of the year (from the date you return to full time work). ... Download an IR151 from IRD’s website, this gives you information on estimation and re-estimation. Remember, when you re-estimate for a period that isn’t a full year there’s an annualisation calculation to be made. You need to ensure your estimation meets the criteria to be accepted.
