24.01.2022 Where did this come from ???? I’m pretty sure my back patio is near the highway Take care

24.01.2022 Apparently those strong wind warnings may be true. A SEVERE WEATHER WARNING for DAMAGING WINDS has been issued for people in parts of Central, East Gippsland, South West, North Central, North East and West and South Gippsland Forecast Districts. Latest information: http://www.bom.gov.au/vic/warnings/... Weather Situation: Strong and gusty northerly winds developing ahead of a low pressure trough expected to cross the State later tonight into Monday morning. Strong and gusty westerly winds then develop about exposed coasts early Monday morning. DAMAGING NORTHERLY WINDS, averaging 50 to 70 km/h with peak gusts of around 100 to 110 km/h are expected across elevated areas (above 400m) of central Victoria extending to the far east during the evening. Winds are expected to continue overnight Sunday into Monday, but will ease from the west behind a change which is expected to reach western Victoria late tonight, central districts early Monday then clearing the east during Monday afternoon. DAMAGING WESTERLY WINDS averaging 40 to 60km/h with peak gusts of around 90km/h are possible about the southwest coast and Bass coast to Wilsons Promontory during Monday morning, easing by the afternoon. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Be aware that trees that have been damaged by heat or fire may be unstable and more likely to fall when it is windy or wet. * Check that loose items such as outdoor settings, umbrellas and trampolines are safely secured and move vehicles under cover or away from trees. * Stay indoors and away from windows. * If outdoors, move to a safe place indoors. Stay away from trees, drains, gutters, creeks and waterways. * If driving conditions are dangerous, safely pull over away from trees, drains, low-lying areas and floodwater. Avoid travel if possible. * Stay safe by avoiding dangerous hazards, such as floodwater, mud, debris, damaged roads and fallen trees. * Stay away from fallen powerlines always assume they are live. * Stay informed monitor weather warnings, forecasts and river levels at the Bureau of Meteorology website, and warnings through VicEmergency.

23.01.2022 I don’t think it’s going around us this time Severe Weather Warning for HEAVY RAINFALL Stay Informed: http://www.bom.gov.au/vic/warnings/... Weather Situation: A low pressure trough over central Victoria will move slowly east overnight and during Saturday. HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is possible across parts of northern, central and eastern Victoria tonight and into Saturday. Broad rainfall rates of 10 to 35mm over six hours are likely within the warning area, with up to 60mm over six hours possible. Rain will contract to eastern Victoria during Saturday morning before easing to showers during the afternoon. A Flood Watch is current for catchments across parts of central and eastern Victoria, while a number of flood warnings are also current. The Victoria State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks. * Be alert that in areas recently affected by fires, heavy rainfall increases the potential for landslides and debris across roads. The next Severe Weather Warning will be issued by 5:00 am AEDT Saturday.
