12.01.2022 Did you know that up until the mid-1800s, all medicine was food-based? Aspirin, one of the most popular over-the-counter medications, is actually derived from the willow tree. In fact, every medicine you've ever heard of is derived from a plant. As Hippocrates the "father of modern medicine" stated Let food be thy medicine and medicinebethy food.... Here are a few immune supporting plants and herbs.

11.01.2022 Hey there! If you are concerned about someone, or have lost regular contact during this time, trust your gut and ask Are you OK? Listen with an open mind to what they have to say and ask them what you can do to help. In the current circumstances there might be limits but you can definitely be a listening ear and a (virtual) shoulder to lean on. There is support available. #stayconnected ... https://www.ruok.org.au/staying-connected-is-more-important See more

10.01.2022 Simple ways to increase energy and vitality.

07.01.2022 Grounding, also called earthing, is a therapeutic technique that involves doing activities that ground or electrically reconnect you to the earth. Have you ever been outside on a warm summer day and felt the urge to run barefoot in the grass? One of the easiest ways to ground yourself to the earth is to walk barefoot. Whether this is on grass, sand, or even mud, allowing your skin to touch the natural ground can provide you with grounding energy. The simple act of walking ...barefoot offers many other benefits. As we walk or run, our intrinsic foot, thigh, leg and core muscles need to maintain a level of contraction to absorb the impact forces every time our feet hit the ground. In a healthy foot, this tension mechanism will be initiated when the sensory nerves in our feet are stimulated. While shoes provide support and protection for hard man-made surfaces, wearing them all day long can prevent us from using certain muscle groups that function to help with this shock absorption. Therefore, it is a good idea to periodically walk barefoot on natural terrains such as sandy beaches or grassy pastures. #chirocareaus See more

05.01.2022 In light of the announcements made yesterday by the Victorian Government, there has been a further easing of the restrictions that apply to Melbourne based chiropractors. Chiropractors and all AHPRA-registered health workers may provide face-to-face services for routine and preventative care. For all of those who have had their care delayed over the past few months we have returned to normal hours and availability.

04.01.2022 WE ARE OPEN! Over the past few days we have been trying to keep up with the ever-changing information regarding what business’ can remain open during Stage 4 restrictions which came into effect 6pm Sunday the 2nd of August in Metropolitan Melbourne. Fortunately chiropractors are able to remain open!... You do not need a referral from your GP to continue your necessary care with us. An updated statement from the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) states that all public and private health services are permitted: All AHPRA registered health workers - and in addition, social work, speech pathology, dietetics and any other health worker required to fulfil a care plan endorsed by NDIS, TAC, Workcover or DVA - to provide services that prevent a significant change/deterioration in functional independence The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) have also stated the following two key points with regard to care and health care and necessary goods and services You can leave home to receive health care or attend medical appointments. If you need to see a doctor or health care professional, you should do so. Do not put off getting medical care. Your doctor or health care professional can provide advice on how to stay safeFor some people, the nearest goods and services will be more than 5km away. In this situation you may travel beyond 5km to the nearest provider. In short, this means that if your chiropractic care is necessary for you, you may continue to attend your appointments through Stage 4 restrictions even if you live greater than 5km from the clinic. For further information, please contact us directly at the clinic on (03) 8566 6100. We look forward to seeing you at your next appointment.
