23.01.2022 Breakfast this morning was 2 teaspoons black chia seeds with 1/4 cup cooked steel cut oats mixed in with 1 teaspoon raw cacao powder, drizzled with 1/2 teaspoon... Manuka honey and a few crushed walnuts Some berries and strawberries on the side. Tasted more like a dessert! Rich in #antioxidants #omegathree #goodfats cholesterol busting #oats which are #glutenfree this breakfast is sure to become one of my favourites. Soak the chia seeds and oats overnight and it only takes 10 min to cook the oats. #steelcutoats are higher in nutritional value as they go through less processing than rolled oats. 22.01.2022 Last nights dinner #isocooking #inspiration #healthyfood #health #foodismedicine Beef stir fry with brown rice noodles Vegetarians use tempeh or firm tofu ... Olive oil or sesame oil in wok, be generous In goes 2 long squirts of organic garlic paste (garlic not in season in Australia at the moment) Squirt of Teriyaki sauce, I use one made of coconut aminos from health food shop. Throw in organic beef strips (I used organic ethically raised rump steak @ 300g) Bit of rice wine if you have some. Cook beef/tofu for 5 min and set aside on a plate In the work throw in your cut up veggies, broccoli, carrot, mushrooms, cabbage. The brown rice noodles I bought came with two sachets of an organic mushroom based powder concentrate, preservative free, I threw them in and the noodles..as well as 1/4 cup water. After about 10 min, I added back the beef to the veggies and noodles, stirred for another 2 minutes and there you go..done! 21.01.2022 Can I buy Chinese medicine at my local chemist? There maybe be formulations at your chemist labelled as "Chinese medicine", but a qualified Chinese Medicine pra...ctitioner will never use a one-size-fits-all for their patients. A fully qualified practitioner will prescribe a Chinese herbal formula uniquely formulated for your condition. The herbal formula is also adjusted and altered during the recovery phase until the desired health result is achieved. A lot of diseases or illnesses present with a core set of recognisable indications and symptoms, the original presentation of a particular disease or illness may differ from person to person. For this reason, people with similar health conditions may be provided with considerably different Chinese herbal medicine prescriptions. See more

18.01.2022 Many people have experienced the benefits of natural healthcare when they are unwell, but did you know that you can also benefit from seeing your practitioner w...hen you are well? Natural medicine is particularly well suited for preventive healthcare. For example, taking herbal medicines such as echinacea during cold and flu season can reduce your chance of becoming ill with an upper respiratory infection [1]. And eating a healthy diet significantly reduces your risk of developing chronic disease in later life [2]. So checking in with your natural healthcare professional could improve your health both now and into the future. 16.01.2022 Herbal medicines are well suited for children, being for the most part gentle with few adverse effects. In Germany, a country where herbal medicines are widely ...used, up to 85% of children use herbs each year. The most common reasons for use are common cold, fever, digestive complaints, skin diseases, sleep disturbances and anxiety, with results reported as being good or very good in 84% of cases [1]. However herbal paediatrics is a specialised area, as children have different needs to adults. The guidance of a qualified herbal medicine practitioner is invaluable. 12.01.2022 Look I must confess I had Thai take away tonight, lovely rice paper rolls and Namtok salad from our local Thai at Chilli n Lime..but this is exactly where I got... the inspiration for this rice dish that I had last night, and it was sensational! And vegetarian I had some left over brown rice in the fridge so it was perfect. First I sautéd a big onion in coconut oil, then threw in a generous amount of iodised salt and a splash of soy sauce made of coconut aminos. Prior I chopped up some carrot, cauliflower, broccoli and threw that in the pan & stirred for 10 min. I scrambled 3 eggs in a seperate pan with some coconut oil and added that to the veg, then stirred in the brown rice, cut up a tomato and cut some coriander and put that in too..done! Easy! You can add some firm tofu to this dish as well for extra protein if you wish And hopefully from 28th September we will be hearing more news from Vic DHHS broadening the criteria of whom Im able to treat at the moment. For now Im only able to treat urgent cases. Hang in there everyone, keep finding joy in the little things Mine is a good coffee in the mornings and hearing the animals/wildlife around me Missing my Melbourne patients #healthyfood #stage4lockdown #wellbeing #melbourne #healthandwellbeing #nutritious #deliciousfood #naturalmedicine

10.01.2022 Good morning #covidupdate everyone The Victorian government has decided to keep restrictions to all allied health and AHPRA registered practitioners the same during #stage4lockdown, which can go as far as the 26th of October 2020. I know this is a far stretch without any treatment at all for some of you in discomfort and pain, which will no doubt deteriorate in condition in this time so as of next week I am coming into Melbourne once a week to treat. ... Note, I am able to treat if it means your pain/discomfort, mentally, emotionally or physically is really impacting your day to day activities, not enabling you to function well, i. e., restricted movement, headaches getting worse, severe anxiety, not able to sleep, etc. This is still within DHHS guidelines, you DONT need a GP referral, its up to my discretion whether to treat you or not. If unsure, please contact me on 0425 818 966. Obviously my #covidsafe plan we be put in place and i will be screening everyone that comes in. Preventative/routine care is not permitted during this time. However, I am offering consultations over the phone and post out supplements and herbs to you. I plan to come in on Thursday 17th September. I will & can still treat patients in Bittern. There are still spots available after 1pm. Please contact me on 0425818966 if you would like an appointment. Hang in there everyone. Feel free to share this post. Going to be 24 degrees today, get out there and get that vitamin D #bloodycovid19 #melbourne #lockdown2020 #lookafteryou https://www.facebook.com/531019898/posts/10160289720869899/

10.01.2022 TRYING..key word..trying to keep healthy and want to come out of covid fighting fit and strong, hope sharing these recipes makes it easier for you all to do the... same Made these rice paper rolls today and they were soooo good! You will find rice paper sheets at your local supermarket in the pasta/rice section, just simply dip a sheet in a bowl of warm water, dont soak..just dip and take it out and put on a moist tea towel. After a minute or two it softens. Whilst it softens thats when you fill it up with goodies. I had some Cleavers organic beef & brisket burgers in the fridge so I cooked them up and sliced them. I then sliced some carrot, cucumber and capsicum, had my bean sprouts, chopped coriander and spring onions..and put a bit of each with the meat on the rice paper and rolled them up. If you can find Vietnamese mint, add a couple of leaves in there too. You can easily substitute the meat for some marinated tofu, a honey & soy marinade with the tofu lightly fried in peanut oil or sesame oil is something I really want to try next. You can also use left over roast chicken or tuna. The dipping sauce was actually in a bottle at the local IGA, so just added some chilli flakes to it, got the mortal and pestle to chop some peanuts and added them to the sauce.. And there you go.. All in all I must have spent just 20 minutes making them. Bloody delicious Give it a go, I thought rice paper rolls were always difficult to make but theyre not. Brings me back to my childhood..I grew up on Asian food from a very young age and Vietnamese rice paper rolls have always been my favourite Enjoy!
