06.01.2022 Well, it wasn't our day and Thornlie are a very good side and deserving Premiers. But our Club could not be ANY prouder of our girls! They came to play (with the score in the first quarter one goal to one point), but were probably a little overwhelmed. Considering almost half the team have played just 5 - 10 games of football, it is understandable. At half time, they looked like they were ready to throw in the towel. 5 goals down, heads down... BUT, to their absolute credit, ...and the coaches Jason and Chris, they picked themselves up and fought to the last siren. They kept Thornlie to 3 goals to our 1 for the rest of the game, when it looked like they were going to run away with it. The Officials at the ground said that there was no way the score reflected the game. It was a very tight battle by the 2 best Yr9/10 teams in the Conference. Also 2 Grand Finals in your first 2 years of football is a phenomenal effort considering you are playing teams that have been together for 4 or 5 years. And now to our spectators! A huge effort and we filled the East Perth Grand Stand with a sea of Broncos!! (Congrats to Kyle Portelli as Best Dressed with Blue Mohawk!!). Thanks to one and all that came down and those that paid 70 bucks to watch... . We are so proud of all our Youth teams for their performances in finals this weekend. Well done Yr7 & Yr9 Teams and our Yr 9/10 Girls. As a true community club, we pride ourselves on the behaviour of our Teams on and off the field, and with credit to our Parents and Coaches, all our Teams displayed outstanding behaviour/sportsmanship throughout the Season. Thank you for being part of our footy family at Chittering Junior Football Club!
