24.01.2022 So prior to Covid 19 this little champion won all these medals at Coburg Little Athletics Club. He is still training hard and completing his prescribed exercises to keep him fit and healthy for when some normalcy returns and he can go hit the track running well again. Congratulations Luca your dedication and persistence was certainly worth it.

24.01.2022 A beautiful morning spent having Christmas breakfast with my super team. Thank you to my fabulous staff for your passion and dedication in helping our valued clients recover from injury and achieve their goals. You all have your own special qualities that gel together and create the fabulous Choice Physio + Pilates - where Prescribed Movement is Medicine. Proud and grateful

24.01.2022 Update for Choice hours and status of operation. After reviewing the current Covid 19 stats for Melbourne we have decided to continue with the same conditions we have had in place for the last 2 weeks, in order to minimise the risk of community transmission.... ***One on One Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology consultations ***Telehealth consultations ***NO group based sessions We will re-evaluate in 2 weeks and inform you of the plan for the remainder of the lock down period. Here are the current practices we have in place to optimise your health and safety during this pandemic : **Reduced numbers of people in the clinic at any one time. You can help us with this by not bringing any extra people with you to your appointment (where practical). **One clinician working per day. **All patients are asked to disinfect their hands with hand sanitiser at the front door before entering. ( a bottle will be on the wall near the front door) **Your temperature will be checked on arrival. **Physical distancing by waiting in our studio rather than our waiting room, as directed by reception staff. **Treatment couches and all equipment disinfected after every patient. **No signing of reciepts, and where possible tap pay facility only. **High touch areas such as door handles, pens, eftpos machine and desk/bench surfaces will be disinfected multiple times throughout the day. **Masks worn at all times. We ask all patients who have had any contact with a suspected coronavirus case to kindly reschedule appointments until after a negative test has been acquired. If you are experiencing a dry cough, headache, sore throat, fever and/or high temperature please let us reschedule your appointment until after a negative test has been acquired. Thank you again for your patience and support. Stay active and safe. We are here if you need us. The Choice Team

24.01.2022 Good morning everyone. Make time for your therapeutic exercises today ! You are important, valuable and worthy of good health.

23.01.2022 Hi There Choice Followers, Hope you are all coping well during the lockdown. Hopefully moving a lot and getting out of those chair, perhaps even doing some of your specific therapeutic exercises??? Here is some information regarding Osteoporosis and the wedge compression fractures that sometimes occur due to excessive flexion forces on weakened bones.... Medscape https://emedicine.medscape.com/article/325872-overview just released an article saying that exercise is the best nonoperative management process for these fractures rather than bed rest, as was previously prescribed. In particular they refer to exercises to strengthen the back, utilising the extension bias to decrease kyphotic deformity and prevent further recurrences. This emphasises our motto "Prescribed Movement is Medicine". Enjoy the read.

18.01.2022 Dear Valued Clients, The way forward over the next few weeks seems a bit like the rather torturous path in my photo below. Rocky, bumpy, difficult to discern and confusing. To help you manage this path Choice Physio + Pilates is continuing to provide quality Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology with strict but appropriate hygiene and social distancing strategies in place for your safety. One on one Physio and Exercise Physiology consultations are being provided in line with ...current government guidelines. Our service assists in reducing the burden on the hospital system by continuing to treat/manage your musculoskeletal injuries, hence we are deemed as an essential service. We will also be providing a Telehealth service for those of you who prefer to remain at home and receive treatment. Lets move along this path together and make sure we all get to the end as healthy as possible. Take care and let us know if we can help you. See more

07.01.2022 Hope you are stepping up the ladder , but if sometimes you have to take a step to the side or even one back- it’s all good. As long as you allow yourself to this with acceptance. Then tomorrow’s another day.

07.01.2022 Merry Christmas to all our valued clients. We hope your festive season is full of reuniting with loved ones and enjoying their company, in a covid safe manner. We thank you for your support through out this very challenging year and hope we have been able to keep you healthy and well aligned whilst working from home, home schooling children, not working, minimal incidental movement due to a unprecedented lockdown and the mental health anguish that came with the year of 2020. ... Despite the difficult year, telehealth has enabled many to realise that pain and dysfunction can be managed very well with advice and exercise therapy via a video platform that allows us to assess, diagnose and treat. Look after your spinal health during the holiday period-remember its just like brushing your teeth. We re-open on the 11th January. See more

07.01.2022 Happy Sunday everyone. Hope you are making the most of some down time in our current Covid19 pandemic social distancing. We would like you to know that we are still open for business with some obvious necessary restrictions in place as suggested by the Australian Health Department to promote safety first. Let me explain....... 1. Frequent washing of hands with warm soapy water for 20 sec or using alcohol rub and avoid touching your face. 2. Social distancing has been clarified as having 2 metres between each other. 3. Self isolate if you have flu like symptoms, or have been travelling/ been in close contact with a traveller in the past 14 days. To adhere to these guidelines we have put in place the following policy to help all of us get through the next few months with minimal cost to your physical and emotional health. Please note as more information comes to light this may change. We will endeavour to keep up with these ongoing updates for you and update our policy. Take care Kind Regards The Choice Team

06.01.2022 Cooper is getting in shape for his Stand Up Paddle Board adventures ....... Canine Pilates !

05.01.2022 Congratulations to our budding stair climbers ! 8 months until the Eureka Stair Climb. I think everyones looking on track for a successful assent. Great training session had by everyone this morning.

04.01.2022 Travelling along this Covid lockdown path together, remember we have to look after ourselves. Working from home and being locked-down reduces our incidental exercise such as walking to the station, walking to get a coffee, walking to the print office, climbing the stairs for a meeting on another floor. The loss of this incidental exercise can underpin musculoskeletal pain. Make sure you inject some exercise into your daily routine to replace the lost incidental exercise, so w...e look after our body, mind and soul. 20 minutes 2-3 times per day is ideal and/or a 45 minute walk outside if possible so the sun and fresh air combine with the movement to increase endorphins and nurture our brain as well as our body. Stay safe, stay active, stay well. We are here for you if you need any advice on exercise and our clinic will remain open with all the necessary restrictions in place to keep us all healthy. The Choice Team

02.01.2022 Please avoid "phoneck" !! In our current lockdown remember to lift your head and take a break from your phone. Here are some tips to prevent and or help with "phoneck" pain/discomfort. Take a break from your phone Use different positions (lay on your back/tummy) Use AirPods/earphones Most importantly put it away and go for a walk.... Look after yourselves and if you have any concerns we have Telehealth consultations available and to keep those out of hospital we can see you face to face with the appropriate PPE and hygiene in place. Take care, we are half way through it and doing a great job.

02.01.2022 Happy Beautiful Saturday! Shout out for those who would like to join us at 9am tomorrow 23/2 at Vista Circuit Broadmeadows for another stair training session. 168 steps with some flat sections and nice deep steps to fit all your foot on, safe for running or walking. See you there.
