25.01.2022 My Favourite Group of people to work with pre-COVID was the Monday Morning Visual Arts group at Coolum Hearts Shed There is a magic about this place. A group of people who truly believe in working hard to support others in need and what better way to do that then through art. 24.01.2022 I am genuinely overwhelmed and joy filled at the artwork that was created in the 'Paint Your Own Turtle' Workshop today. All of these participants have their own artistic style which is always so lovely to witness unfold. We sketched a turtle using a grey lead pencil. Then talked about texture and applied oil pastels to cover the turtle. Next we applied ink over the top, with a few sprinkles of sea salt just for effect. So, so proud!... 10.01.2022 Print Makers Students researched Indigenous symbology from different regions around Australia. They then applied their understanding to design symbols that they felt were a personal reflection on them.... We carved the design out, applied acrylic paint and pressed them onto water colour paper. I love this quote by Seth Godin especially the part 'What matters, what makes art, is that the person who made it overcame the resistance, ignored the voice of doubt and made something worth making. I have been offered a magical garden to facilitate an Intuitive Art Explorers Workshop for ages 5-12 Intuitive, artistic self expression benefits the 'whole' child, supporting curiosity, creative & innovative thinking and communication. Especially when the child is encouraged and nurtured to free flow with their creativity.... Each week Chony will provide a different art material from the previous week. Each participant drew their own version of a turtle, then used oil pastels to colour in the body and add texture. Lastly, they applied an ink wash and some salt....
