Our mate Len Leffley was a poetry and story-telling icon of the Figgy Folk Session and frequent contributor to ABC Illawarra right up until he p...assed away in May 2018 at the age of 91. He led a very full life indeed. Len features in the video below which was recorded at ABC Illawarra in August 2016. Our band Chord-eaux was recording the Wollongong song (lyrics by Len, music by me). The recording was played at Lens funeral, and on drive time ABC radio in the week following his death in his memory. 15.01.2022 Last nights Figgy Folk Session Online was a lot of fun and provided a very welcome opportunity for people to play music and recite poetry for an audience. 13.01.2022 The Pit Ponies (Remember Lenny - part 2). This is the second of two songs with lyrics by our mate Len Leffley who was a stalwart of Figgy Folk Session until he ...passed away in May 2018 at the age of 91. The lyrics come from Lens involvement with pit ponies in the early part of his 40 years in the mines. The video is of Chord-eaux recording The Pit Ponies (lyrics by Len Leffley, music by Neil Rowsell) at ABC Illawarra in August 2017 - about 9 months before Len passed away. It is a shortened version of the song, but it has been embellished with some great photos of ponies. There are cameo appearances by Len with headphones listening intently to the recording, and by Nick Rheinberger doing the sound mixing. Cheers..... See more

10.01.2022 IRISH EYES were SMILING and DANNY BOY was smiling, too, at Chord-eauxs Tour of Ireland concert for Kiama PROBUS this afternoon. From TELLing ME MA in Belfast, we circumnavigated Ireland with singalong songs and tunes to end up meeting the STAR OF COUNTY DOWN. Twas a foin Irish afternoon to be sure, to be sure!

06.01.2022 Im very pleased to announce that I applied for, and have received, a grant from the BlueScopeWIN Community Partners Program for the much-needed upgrading of the PA System used for Chord-eauxs volunteer performances in aged care facilities, Wongawilli Colonial Dances, and other community events. The new PA system will also be used for the Figgy Folk Session when were able to return to the Figgy Pub. Many thanks to the people from the BlueScopeWIN Program.... Cheers, Neil

04.01.2022 A fabulous gig yesterday at the Servo Food Truck Bar at Port Kembla. It was great for Chord-eaux to team with Zlatkos Balkan Cabaret, and we intend to do more of that in the new year. Everyone was happy - the audience, the venue, the food truck, the bands, and a folk festival style atmosphere! It was a great way to spend the Sunday afternoon before Christmas!
