25.01.2022 Major problem facing adolescent athletes, and particularly young netballers. Teaching them how to jump and land safely is so important

23.01.2022 would this be worthwhile? http://ow.ly/IRVr50wL864

19.01.2022 NEW PAPER ALERT: Great effort here by Daniel Crago who was our honours student. Although there is evidence to suggest a potential negative effect of foot orthotics on running economy, if we think about the design used in research, there is potentially reason why...the arch doesnt want to be stiff when running! Cant wait to see his experimental results published...they are game changing. Happy to forward a PDF to anyone who is interested. Just leave a comment below with email. https://www.tandfonline.com//10.1080/02640414.2019.1651582

19.01.2022 Great read. https://simplifaster.com//identifying-what-drives-ad/amp/

17.01.2022 Great collaboration to be involved in! Womens cricket has largely been ignored in research, despite the popularity of the game. Workloads are high and more attention needs to be paid on how best to condition them right through the pathway.

16.01.2022 Really interesting article. Do we harp on about glutes too much? Heres a thought - In search for posterior chain activation and recruitment, Are muscles like multifidus, int/ext oblique, erector spinae forgotten gems? Its all one big lumbo-pelvic package Good research suggesting the contribution of the glutes to the GRF. They are still important in the overall loading pattern applied to the body when we run. So too is load management in terms programming variables such as ...TID, RPE, volume etc Strength Cant be discounted. Just like running more cant be discounted. Both need to be considered. http://www.greglehman.ca//have-the-butt-muscles-of-the-wor

16.01.2022 Seriously good article by this team. Not much in the literature on midfoot OA despite how common presentation it is in practice https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/acr.24182

16.01.2022 Such an important concept. More consideration needs to paid during our assessments to who and how someone may respond to a treatment. Great preso as always by Dr John Arnold.

14.01.2022 I really respect NIKE and their researchers for getting on stage and presenting the data. Its easy for companies to hide everything internal, but talks like this really highlight to the wider community the effect footwear design can have. Kudos Emma and team. https://www.outsideonline.com//nike-vaporfly-carbon-plate-

12.01.2022 I really feel the industry needs to start considering the recommendation of footwear as a prescription. It is no different to prescribing an exercise program or orthotic device. Research needs to follow suit https://www.runnersworld.com//how-maximalist-shoes-affect/

10.01.2022 Bit of fun in the lab this arvo piloting our next study. Q- What makes a footwear researcher excited A - force, wearable tech, accelerometry and in shoe plantar pressure all sampling simultaneously...... Some cool data to come...

08.01.2022 How much can a shoe actually do? Kipchoge is next level, but has the shoe helped him like others model havent for previous athletes in history...this is sure to be an interesting discussion https://sportsscientists.com/?p=12241

07.01.2022 Piloting some new running orthotic research. Love some feedback so the question is: What makes a good orthotic for running? Interested in peoples thoughts...

06.01.2022 This is powerful At what cost is it going to take to realize we are dealing with human lives here. In the search for performance, what is the ultimate goal? Surely that needs to be health and well being. Sadly, only some see it this way... https://www.milesplit.com//270833-mary-cain-opens-up-on-no

06.01.2022 Is sport science at a cross road? I personally witnessed how a great service thrives at the AIS, and last time I visited it was a ghost town Whats next?
