25.01.2022 I've been loving the look and contrast of white dresses against a dark backdrop. I keep adding more materials on top that gives a sort of jellyfish look on them. Its Effie's second time shooting underwater with me with the first being one of the challenging UV style and a very different look to the one now. Being Winter again in Sydney I have regressed from underwater shoots and shooting topside again and looking for more projects. 23.01.2022 Recently I did some underwater photos for the Mercon Australia Convention in Sydney. Shooting in a sunny day in a cold outdoor pool we managed to pull through and create some magical images which I'll be sharing over time here. My first one from the series has Mermaid Miffien @mermaidmiffien caressing the waters surface. 20.01.2022 Stingerless Jelly Fish Lake in Sohoton, Surigao del Norte, Philippines. A few weeks ago I visited the Surigao region of the Philippines for a fortnight and wanted to try and fit one of my previous concepts there in the jellyfish lake. We purchased the dress in the markets around Pasay in Manila and fabrics in the Surigao town. We caught a ferry to Soccoro to stay the night and then rented a boat to Sohoton to tour around and do some underwater shoots. Only when we arrived in... the area we find the jelly fish a little more scarce then previously imagined due to not being the peak season. Regardless I've managed to make it work. 20.01.2022 My experimentations with underwater photography and UV & Near UV light photography have led me into wanting to combine the two rather difficult genres for that extra challenge and to create new beautiful imagery. Sarah returned for a 2nd underwater shoot and this time for underwater UV bodypainted theme. We used bright fluro/neon fabrics to create an outfit and waterproof UV bodypaints with me using my limited airbrushing skills to paint her. We had to use a neon wig for the... hair to get glowing hair underwater - I'm not sure of any other way to do it as paint will just come straight off. For the growing seabed I've been cutting up neon fabrics, strings and assorted items to attach on temporary base which I intend to grow over time in future shoots. 12.01.2022 Continuing on with my UV project Sarah @smev97 volunteered to model for one of my impromptu shoots one Friday evening. My concept is a little jellyfish inspired and been playing with ideas on how to achieve it both on land and underwater. I bought a clear umbrella from Kmart which would be the basis of the head then white net textured fabric from spotlight which I cut up into tentacles. While shopping there I saw some party paper crafts which also looked like would work for t...entacles - at least for the dry shoot as wouldn't last long in the water. I paint some textures into the clear umbrella with diluted white UV acrylic paint. For Sarahs styling I worked the airbrush using the same white UV paint as was a little difficult sourcing white bodypaint and hence the paint cracking - which I thought worked anyways. For the hair we used temporary spray on hair colour which we later switched to neon wig for a greater intensity. Sydney waters are generally wild challenging conditions for these shoots but this location we were blessed with good sunny weather and only slightly cold water.
