06.01.2022 With mortgage brokers writing 59.1% of home loans in Australia, we are concerned with the recent recommendations from the Royal Commission into the banking & finance sector. We believe that mortgage brokers help keep lenders on their toes, and provide a great home loan service at no cost to customers. Among other recommendations, they have recommended that customers be charged for the home loan service via fee-for-service model. They seem to recommend eradicating this great free service which enables customers to have more choice & have better outcomes. Hopefully, our politicians will see the affect these changes will have on both customers and 20,000 mortgage broking businesses in Australia. The report was a slap on the wrist for the banks and if implemented will hand power back to the big 4 banks.

A fantastic round/week for PEGSCC.. 1stXI had a solid win, set up last weekend by some quality bowling to restrict RPBCC to 124. In reply PEGSCC made 5/209dec claiming first inning and sent RPBCC back in to try for an outright victory. By the close of the day, RPBCC were 2/142, A great all round performance with bat and ball. 2ndXI were defending a sizeable 353 yesterday on yet another belter of a pitch at RPB. Great bowling early had RPB 2/33 off 24 before Sean lindsay produced figures after tea of 5 overs, 5 maidens, 2 for 0 including a run out. A steady fall of wickets from then on had RPB 116 all out off 59 overs. Seans final figures of 11 overs, 9 maidens, 3 wickets for 5 runs was the highlight of the day. Good work Schnozzle-burger! Tariq Muzafar and Chancy Bandara claimed 2 wickets each and Aussie Bishop and Issac Fulton one each. Another all round effort with every player making a contribution and a huge percentage boost for the 2s. A star filled 4s team including the return of PEGSCCs very own Russell Coight in Hugh Lovell from his nationwide trip around Aus, fought hard against Strathmore at home to only lose by 11 runs. Chasing 144, PEGSCC produced 8/133. Friday night under 16s had a spectacular night with 3 players scoring 100s for the club. Anh Nguyen, Rohan Mendis and Jameson Jarvis all scored brilliant knocks. Congratulations to all three! A reminder that trivia night on the 24th of November is fast approaching. Organise your tables now! Tickets are available to purchase before or on the night.
