The Queen’s Baton Relay is coming to the Charters Towers, passing through the hands of locals in the Towers, Pentla...nd and Homestead as part of its journey to the start of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. Local legends are being called on to carry the Queen’s Baton in Our Towns in March 2018. Mayor, Liz Schmidt says a community nomination program, which opens today, will offer the people of Charters Region with an opportunity to carry the Baton.
