25.01.2022 Midweek Meditation with Annette Lawniczak WALK AND LIVE IN THE LIGHT OF THE SON Jesus said, I am light to the world and those who embrace me will experience life-giving light, and they will never walk in darkness. John 8:12 (The Passion)... Exposure to the Son Unlike natural sunlight that causes damage to us if we expose ourselves to it for too long, the light of the Son of God only destroys those things that cause damage to our souls. He wants to burn and destroy the sin and ugliness in our lives. Continual exposure to the natural sun may cause sun cancer, but exposure to the Son of God heals the cancerous sin growth in our lives. If we want to see clearly the fine details of something, we hold it up to the light. It is the same with our souls. Continual exposure to the Son of God may sometimes be uncomfortable - but the end result is purification and holiness. When the heat of truth burns into our soul, we may want to run for cover into the shadows - to get away from the Son. But this is only avoidance. Get out into the Son-light and allow God’s Spirit to do his work. When Son bathing - Don’t use Son-block. We are used to applying sun-block before going into the sun. I wonder how many times we apply spiritual ‘block out’ before we spend our daily time of ‘Son bathing’ - that is exposing ourselves to the light of God and his word, letting the light of his truth touch every part of our being. Unfortunately most of us are pretty good at using cover ups or Son-block because we don’t want to deal with the cancerous growths that are part of our souls. However as we walk in the light and expose our naked souls to the healing rays of the Son-shine, we find healing and strength. Because he loves us, God will always seek to shine his light upon us. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. 1 Cor 4:5 For we have the living Word of God, which is full of energy, and it pierces more sharply than a two-edged sword. It will even penetrate to the very core of our being where soul and spirit, bone and marrow meet! It interprets and reveals the true thoughts and secret motives of our hearts. There is not one person who can hide their thoughts from God, for nothing that we do remains a secret, and nothing created is concealed, but everything is exposed and defenceless before his eyes, to whom we must render an account. Hebrews 4:12-13 (The Passion) So let’s walk and live in the light of the Son and allow healing to penetrate our souls.

25.01.2022 Midweek Meditations with Annette Lawniczak WE HAVE RECEIVED GRACE HEAPED UPON MORE GRACE John introduced Jesus and announced to the people,... He’s the One! Set your hearts on him! I told you he would come after me, even though he ranks far above me, for he existed before I was even born. And now out of his fullness we are fulfilled! And from him we receive grace heaped upon more grace! John 1:15-16 (The Voice) Every moment of our lives is a gracious gift from God. From the moment we were born until this moment grace has attended our path. Actually from the moment we were conceived for he was watching while we were being formed in our mothers womb - whether we were planned and longed for or if we were a mistake or a surprise to our parents - even if conception was forced through rape - our existence has been attended to by grace. Because we were conceived in God’s mind long before our parents got together; long before the creation of this world - God knew us and planned for us to be the focus of his love. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Psalm 139:16-18 Every moment of our existence is encircled by God’s grace. Philip Yancey says: "It’s surprising to realise that Jesus never used the word grace, but he taught the essence of it and more importantly lived it. He was not afraid to be associated with sinners. His life was very radical - he seeks out and dines with a despised tax collector, speaks kindly to a Samaritan woman, fails to condemn a women caught in adultery, touches lepers and forgives those who crucify him". These gracious actions accompany each one of us throughout our lives too. Even if we fall, fail and rebel he is still reaching out to us. He never leaves us nor forsakes us. His grace draws us back into his embrace. Let us not presume upon his grace but respond in the appropriate manner and love him in return. We have received grace heaped upon grace.

20.01.2022 REFLECTION ON SUNDAY'S MESSAGE We were challenged to walk into the destiny God has for us. Regardless of what life has thrown our way and the choices we have made in the past, God has not changed his mind about his calling on our lives. Have you talked to God about what his plans are for you this year - and beyond?

19.01.2022 Midweek Meditations with Annette Lawniczak A NEW LIFE HAS BEGUN - LIVE FULLY IN IT If anyone is united with the Anointed One, that person is a new creation. The old life is goneand seea new life has begun! All of this is a gift from our Creator God, who has pursued us and brought us into a restored and healthy relationship with Him through the Anointed (2 Cor 5:17-18 The Voice)... Even though we have invited God into our lives, the past can have great power over us. Do we allow the past to cloud out our peace and joy? Do we struggle with memories of the old life? Some past memories cause us to cringe. What were we thinking! How could we have thought that was a good decision? Other memories are painful because we were wronged, abused or taken advantage of. There are some basic positive steps we can take:- * If we haven’t already done so, own our mistakes, our sin and our hurts. Confess them to God. * Know that God loves us unconditionally and forgives without hesitation when we come to him. * Know that God wants to bring healing and wholeness. * Refuse to allow the past to define who we are. The two most powerful actions we can undertake for our emotional and spiritual health are: PRACTICE FORGIVENESS let go of the wrongs done by us and the wrongs done to us. Forgive yourself and forgive others. This is not always easy but a must if we are to live the new life in Christ. CULTIVATE GRATEFULNESS I am grateful that God loves me and forgives me. I am grateful that I can move forward with his help. I am grateful for those significant people in my life who encourage and love me. I am grateful that the past is in the past and my future is assured and bright. When the memories return and threaten to overwhelm, remind Satan of who we are. I now live in a restored and healthy relationship with God and my past sins are forgiven, never to be counted against me. I am a child of God and I choose to life fully in my new life. God can heal wounds in me that I have learned to live with Philip Yancey You cannot reach for anything new if your hands are still full of yesterday’s junk. Louise Smith

15.01.2022 REFLECTIONS ON SUNDAY'S MESSAGE Pastor Rod shared three points that his friend Nick Watson felt we, as Christians, need to be for the season ahead. Be strong - Be supernatural - Be intentional. Why? So that the church fulfils the great commission and that the world may know Jesus. Are you praying this week for these things to become reality in your life? Regarding intentionality Pastor Rod encouraged us with the following:

10.01.2022 STARTS TOMORROW NIGHT 23rd SEPTEMBER promptly at 7pm. If you are interested but haven't registered it's not too late. Please just turn up, we have room for a few more people. Don't miss out on this exciting and informative series.

08.01.2022 Midweek Meditation with Christina Packer I JUST WANT TO THANK YOU LORD It’s so enjoyable to come before you with uncontainable praises spilling from our hearts! How we love to sing our praises over and over to you, to the matchless God, high and exalted over all! (Psalm 92:1 NIV)... I just thank you Lord that you see us and you love us. We don't have to present ourselves in a certain way, we don't have to say certain things, we don't have to have everything perfect before you choose us. You choose us when we are in the muck and the mire, when we are so far gone, when we are feeling obliterated, when everyone else thinks we are too far gone. That's when you look upon us and you see that absolute beauty. I thank you that you saw what could be, instead of what was. You saw the beauty of what you made, instead of the destruction that we had made. And your eyes!! When we look into your eyes, there is just such kindness and such love. We have never seen that before. We have never seen what you have for us and what you long to give to us and what you are offering us and just the freedom of that. There is no other relationship on this earth that has what you have for us. That has such freedom and generosity. And I just thank you Lord, you are incredible. You do see everything. You don't only see the times that we come to you and say what we have been doing. You know every word that is going to come out of our mouth, whether it is speaking to you, whether it is yelling at someone or arguing or speaking behind someone's back. You know every good thing that comes out of us Lord and you know every evil thing. You know every thought, you know every temptation that goes through us and yet you love us. You absolutely love us. I just want to thank you Lord.

03.01.2022 Midweek Meditations with Annette Lawniczak GOD’S GRACIOUS GIFTS: GRACE - LOVE - FRIENDSHIP May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all (2 Corinthians 13:14 NIV).... These three phrases are more than farewell comments in Paul’s letter to the church at Corinth. They are incredibly mind-blowing experiences we can enter into. I love The Message paraphrase of this verse. Eugene Peterson has added an adjective to each phrase. The amazing grace of our Lord Jesus Christ The extravagant love of the Father The intimate friendship of the Holy Spirit. Have you ever been AMAZED BY THE GRACE OF JESUS that saved us - that sustains us - that attends us every moment of every day. Grace is undeserved, unearned favour; the receiving of something that we ought not be entitled to. Our relationship with God was beyond our reach but for God’s grace and Jesus sacrifice at Calvary. Do you luxuriate in THE EXTRAVAGANT LOVE OF FATHER GOD. Extravagance has the ring of indulgence about it. God’s love is an over-the-top, above-and-beyond kind of love. Paul writing to the Ephesians, exclaimed How deeply intimate and far-reaching is his love! How enduring and inclusive it is! Endless love beyond measurement that transcends our understandingthis extravagant love pours into you until you are filled to overflowing with the fullness of God! (Eph 3:19 TPT) Do you experience the INTIMATE FRIENDSHIP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. Intimacy conjures up the idea of closeness and warmth; the sharing of personal and private matters not shared with others. God is interested in every area of our lives and the Holy Spirit tenderly walks with us through thick and thin 24/7. These experiences are ours for the asking. Don’t let anything stop you from enjoying the amazing grace - the extravagant love and the intimate friendship of our triune God today and every day.
