12.01.2022 OCTOBER PRAYER o Thank God for his good and faithful answer to prayer, even when the outcome is different to what we hoped for. o Thank God for our Short English Course. Pray that what we learnt together will bring fruit in our lives, the church and kingdom. Particularly pray that the Pastors may consider teaching a series from the book of Galatians during their sermon time (rather than the lectionary readings). ... o Pray with Bishop Godfrey and Diocesan leaders as they look at ways that will allow them to hold our 3 yearly Synod meeting. There are a number of challenges. o Continue to pray for my colleague Innocensia and Rev Hurban whose study plans for Uganda have been delayed by COVID 19. o Ask our God to guide me, with discussions here with Diocesan leaders, how to best use these extra 2 months. o Pray for Tanzania as it prepares for National Election on October 28. For peaceful, just and transparent processes to be followed. o Pray that in God’s good timing I would be able arrive in Australia in December. Pray this too for other CMS colleagues also caught up in these challenges. o Please continue to pray for my family, we would all love to be together again. Pray we would all have patient trust in our Lord Jesus to care for us all. To download Judith's full update, please visit: www.sconeanglican.church/prayer

10.01.2022 As my six-year-old body rested in my bed at night, snuggled into my space-inspired doona that sat beside my toy telescope, I remember being enchanted by awe. Glued against my bedroom ceiling were some plastic glow-in-the-dark stars. Seeing these fluoro lights pierce through the darkness of my bedroom, I was moved by a kind of innocent curiositythe kind that murmurs, There must be more to life. In the Hebrew tradition, light symbolises knowledge and understandingthe type o...f wisdom that generates order and life. The ancient Hebrews believed that all the positive emotions and the pleasing sensations of life flowed from the light. The light was their source of all goodnessthe grounds for authentic joy, love and fellowship. Now as we start our study on 1 John this Sunday, we are going to chase/pursue this ancient light of life together. The truth is that God is the light who has has entered the world in Jesus (1 Jn. 1:1-5). And as we walk in the wisdom of Christ, my longing is that we will become who we were created to bethe light of the world. Here are our service times: Sunday Traditional8:30am; Sunday Contemporary10:45am; Tuesday Traditional10:30am. I hope to see you soon, Pastor Jesse

06.01.2022 On Father’s Day, pastors Nate and Jesse both opened up the Word and preached about our ‘good good Father’the God of the universe. Nate’s teaching came from Hosea 11, and we had the opportunity to think about the Father’s heart for his Son, Israel. We learnt that despite their rebellions, God continued to display compassionate love to his childrenand by extension us. Jesse’s teaching focused on the truth that we all have a father-shaped hole in our lives that can only be fi...lled by the perfect fatherGod the Father. He used a variety of Scriptures in his teaching (Genesis 1-3 and Luke 15). If you missed out on these Father’s Day messages, please find them here: https://sconeanglican.church/relentless-love-part-10 #enjoytheword #perfectfather #fathersday
