24.01.2022 VISIT NEW ZEALAND Kaikura is a base for wildlife experiences of all kinds it’s also a great place to eat crayfish (in the Mori language 'kai' means food, 'kura' means crayfish). An easy two-hour drive north of Christchurch, Kaikura makes for a great day trip or a fun stop on your way to Marlborough. Kaikura's environment is truly spectacular the village is caught between the rugged Seaward Kaikura Range and the Pacific Ocean. In winter the mountains are covered with... snow, adding to the drama of the landscape. Kaikura’s special talent is marine mammal encounters whales, fur seals and dolphins live permanently in the coastal waters. Whale watching trips leave the town several times a day and the local seal colony is always entertaining. There are plenty of cafés, restaurants and shops to explore. (Photo Credit Kyle Mulinder)

23.01.2022 A journey to Tasmania is a rare chance to disconnect from stress and reconnect with the things that matter. Geographic isolation has contributed to unique biodiversity, and it has also fostered a rare community of creative, down-to-earth, resourceful people with time to make you feel welcome.... Tasmania is a place for adventure, however, you define it. Whether the view is from the privacy of a hot tub in a forest, or from a kayak for two, or fireside with Tassie whisky and friends, the world looks different from Tasmania. 08.01.2022 FIELD OF LIGHT ULURU - EXTENDED DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND The critically acclaimed Field of Light Uluru by the internationally celebrated artist Bruce Munro is on display and due to popular demand, has now been extended indefinitely. As darkness falls and Uluru is thrown into silhouette, Field of Light illuminates. As far as the eye can see gentle rhythms of colour light up the desert.... The exhibition, aptly named Tili Wiru Tjuta Nyakutjaku or ‘looking at lots of beautiful lights’ in local Pitjantjatjara is Munro’s largest work to date. Overwhelming in size, covering more than seven football fields, it invites immersion in its fantasy garden of 50,000 spindles of light, the stems breathing and swaying through a sympathetic desert spectrum of ochre, deep violet, blue and gentle white. Ciao Travel client's feedback has been fantastic - stating that this was a 'Once in a lifetime experience'. We would be delighted to look after your next visit to the Northern Territory when we can travel again. (photo credit Tourism NT/Mitchell Cox/Henry Brydon/Tourism Australia/Nicholas Kavo)
