22.01.2022 Colour loves colour - if you know your best colours, buying a few key pieces in those colours makes it easy to mix and match your outfit. Cool based greens, blues and pinks are great colours for me and I often wear these colours. My @_mimco necklace has all of these colours throughout it, which means it goes easily with my @witcheryfashion green cami, my @lovedamsel coat and either @boden green heels or @ninewestaus metallic light blue flats...depending on how my feet feel on... the day! My navy @zara blazer with detail on the shoulders helps to balance out my triangle shape. 16.01.2022 After a colour analysis session, my ‘cool and clear’ client was seeking some advice on dresses. Even when you have your colours done, it’s still a learning process to understand what suits you and how to put different colours and patterns together...but your swatch is a great tool and really helps to figure it out! The dress pattern she’d picked reminded me of gorgeous watercolours and something akin to a Monet painting. Suitable for a cool and muted client, but cool and clea...rs need brighter, more intense colours and medium to high contrast patterns and colour combinations - reminding me more of Picasso! In any case, you can see from the text messages that I tried to get a little creative with my explanations of the different styles and colour combos...I’m not sure I completely nailed the advice, but this is what I had in mind when I was messaging my client! . What do you think - would you be a Picasso or Monet? I love getting style and colour inspiration from visiting art galleries - and we are truly lucky in Canberra to have the Matisse and Picasso exhibition at the @nationalgalleryaus until April. . In this painting from 1937 - the Woman from Arles, Picasso features dynamic blues, pinks, red, purples and greens that suit cool and clear palettes. This is juxtaposed against Monet’s Waterlilies c1914-17 which is also housed at the National Gallery of Australia (although obviously not part of this current #matisseandpicasso exhibition). . If you get the chance, dash over to Canberra to check out the #matisseandpicasso exhibition before it ends. The story of the relationship of both artists is fascinating and no matter what colour palette you are, you will surely find inspiration in the transition that each went through over the course of their careers. . 12.01.2022 #iso restrictions are starting to lift (yay!). How do you go from fulltime #wfh ugg boot city attire, to something you can be seen in public in (not including your #isobinouting attire)...and even feel amazing in? Follow these golden rules of transitioning back into the office...remembering you may need to PIVOT at anytime from office to home to zoom meeting back to the office and finally towards the ultimate destination of...after work drinks in a group lar...ger than 1, haha! . Always be comfortable. Gradually get back in your groove...ramp up (and in my case, suck your tummy in) to wear your work trousers again, and ramp back down into your stretchy and forgiving activewear! . If you’re still struggling to feel it, some funky accessories in your colours are a simple thing that can lift your look and your mood with barely any effort. . 09.01.2022 I’ve had a few questions about the boots I was wearing in my last pic, so I thought I’d do a post for those boots alone! These are @baredfootwear tan Quetzal ankle boots. I absolutely LOVE Bared shoes. They are designed by podiatrists and have the proper support your feet need built into the footbed. Based in Melbourne but they have fantastic online website and delivery. When you order your shoes, you also receive a thinner footbed in case the original one is too thick for yo...u, as well as extra padding for your forefoot in case the shoes are a little wide. They cater for all shapes and sizes of feet and you can note this in your order. Their customer service is exceptional because they care about the comfort of your feet first and foremost. 07.01.2022 After being in actual #iso this past week, it was nice to get outside for some sunshine this weekend. Weather at the moment calls for only a light jumper, so I got my chance to try my new cotton Windy’s from @est_1971 - these come in great colours and designs and I LOVE the elbow patches! Size-wise:... They are a very relaxed fit - the white and navy anchor windy is a size larger than the tri-colour one I’m wearing. If you prefer your tops a little fitted, you may want to size down. The looser fitting is comfy and relaxing and provides a great casual weekend vibe, but be careful not to go too big, as this can add bulk to your shape. Especially if you have an hourglass shape or smaller waist, the bigger sizes can make it appear as though you’re the one size on the whole of your top half and hide your lovely curves. My sister, Emma is one of my best clients haha, and I helped to create her outfit for our gorgeous cousin’s wedding recently. .
