22.01.2022 Colin Firth and Gemma Arterton (who are also starring in SUMERLAND and SUPERNOVA as part of thIS YEAR'S British Film Festival) are attached to star in the period drama CURTAIN CALL with Anand Tucker directing. The film set in 1930s London follows a feared theatre critic Jimmy Erskine (Simon Russell Beale), his loyal assistant (Pappa Essiedu), a newspaper owner (Firth) who wants to get rid of the critic and an actress (Arterton) who has been devastated by the excoriating theatrical reviews. The project is based on the 2017 documentary Scotty and the Secret History of Hollywood by Matt Tyrnauer, a portrait of unsung Hollywood legend Scotty Bowers, whose memoir chronicled his decades spent as a sexual procurer to the stars.
