23.01.2022 A great performance in the field bowling the Hurricanes out for 86. Now the chase begins!!!

20.01.2022 We will be looking at players over the next few weeks and there answers from a few questions, first up is the damaging left arm bowler in Solomon Tuxworth, Solly loves his cricket and his determination and drive to be the best he can for his team is something that really stands out in his performance. Keep up the good work Solly Name: Solomon Voss Tuxworth ... Age: 14 Nickname: Solly or Tucky Batter or Bowler: Bowler working towards allrounder Favourite thing about cricket: Being part of a teams and taking wickets Favourite Player: Steve Smith and Jason Behrendorff Favourite Drink: Ginger Beer Favourite Food: Chocolate What annoys you the most: people who are ungrateful and put others down Favourite Big Bash Team: Hobart Hurricanes Name any three things you would take to a deserted island: Food and water, footy, friends Name any three people you would ask over for dinner: Daniel Rich, Steve Smith and Will Smith (the actor not the cop)

17.01.2022 Tonights player is Kade Hardy, Kade is a reliable bowler who bowls with great control and line and length who also has opened the batting a couple of times and performed really well. One of Kades strengths is his encouragement and voice on the field and keeping all his teammates keen and ready to go. Name: Kade hardy Age: 15... Nickname: Dallas Batter or Bowler: Bowler Favourite thing about cricket: Being a part of a team. Favourite Player: Nathan Lyon Favourite Drink: Ice coffee Favourite Food: Steak What annoys you the most: Dropping a catch. Favourite Big Bash Team: Hobart hurricanes Name any three things you would take to a deserted island: Water, food and a friend. Name any three people you would ask over for dinner: Steve smith, Joel selwood and Robson green.

16.01.2022 Another strong performance today from the Under 15s Colts against the Burnie Hurricanes. Losing the toss and taking to the field first, things started well with opening bowler Solomon Tuxworth showcasing a great spell of line and length bowling as he took wickets in his 1st, 3rd and 4th overs to have Burnie 3-14 after 8 overs. Some very tight bowling also from other opener Kade Hardy at the other end finishing with figures of 0-5 of his 5 overs with Tuxworth finishing with ...3-14 off 4 overs. Leg spinner Rylee Popowski was then introduced to the attack and had the batsmen in all sorts has he claimed figures of 3-11 off 6 overs. From there the remaining wickets were shared around with all bowlers bowling tight lines to dismiss the Hurricanes for a total of 87. Set with what can sometimes be a tricky target to chase openers Jotham Saward and Rylee Popowski started steadily as they chipped away at the target to be 0-18 after 5 overs. This is when Saward decided to take advantage of some short bowling and played some magnificent cricket shots to race away to a well made retired 50* off 44 balls that included 3 x 4s and 2 x 6s. A fantastic start to Jothams season as he backed up from his 63 not out the week before. Opening partner Popowski in his first game as opener played his role to perfection rotating the strike to finish with 15 not out as we chased the target down with the loss of only one wicket. A great team effort again from everyone. Next week we play Wynyard at Stanley with the game starting at 10am. See more

15.01.2022 Round 2 on Sunday we are on the road again as we play the Burnie Hurricanes @ Acton starting at 10am, selected side this week is, 1. E Bellinger 2. K Hardy 3. K Nicholls... 4. E Arnold 5. R Popowski 6. J Haywodd 7. S Tuxworth 8. J Wells 9. T Ollington 10. J Saward 11. W Young This week we give a big thank you to another one of our sponsors that have supported our junior program the past few years in TCS Metal Fabrication. 13.01.2022 Our next player is first year player Jakhan Wells. Jakhan continues to learn about the game and loves getting in behind the ball. Jakhan also keeps the rest of the boys (and coach) on their toes with his fun personality and will be one to watch out for as his game develops.

12.01.2022 In what was a wet and damp weekend at Ulverstone for our T20 Gala day the Colts got the chance to have a game on the turf in what turned out to be in some slippery conditions. With constant drizzle winning the toss was key and that we did electing to bat. The run rate started steady before Jotham Saward and Eli Bellinger got things moving with some great running between the wickets to keep the scoreboard ticking over. Saward and Bellinger made there way to the retirement scor...e of 25 and that is when Copper Mallinson (29) took over things with Rylee Popowski (12) pushing the final score to 131 off the 20 overs. Mallinsons innings featuring 4 x 4s and 1 x 6 to bring up his retirement pushing him to the maximum score of 25. Defending the score started well with Ulverstone collapsing to 4-18 thanks to some tight bowling, some excellent fielding ion the deep by Kade Hardy to cause a run out and some very desperate fielding in close by our one and only Jakhan Wells who took things to a new level by keeping his eye on the ball in the field. With the conditions becoming slippery the game was finished with the bowlers bowling from shortened run ups with Ulverstone making their way to a total of 96 off 20 overs. A great game played in great spirits. With the weather not holding up the second game against Latrobe was called off with the points shared between the sides. This brings us to our Christmas break as we look to rest up for the second half of the season with the release of our new look design uniforms when we return after the break. See more

Up first is some team info, This year we have a confirmed Under 15 boys side that will compete in the Cricket North West comp on Sundays and they will commence training at Stanley on Tuesday 1st Oct from 4pm-6pm.... An opportunity to enter an Under 13s boys side is still a possibility, this competition is also played on a Sunday along the coast and is of a modified game made up of 9 players per side with participation and development the key. (Everyone bats and bowls each week in this competition) Another opportunity is also the introduction of an Under 14 girls side which will consist of some training runs and a 3 week gala roster which will be played before Christmas. 06.01.2022 A great opportunity for young girls looking to have a go at cricket

06.01.2022 Yesterday our Under 15 Colts started their season with a 40 over game against Devonport White at Byard park in Devonport. With the sun out and a reasonable breeze we won the toss and elected to bat. The innings started well with the run rate consistently around 4-5 an over with running between the wickets a highlight, although we did have a few mix ups at times resulting in one run out. As the innings developed several key partnerships were formed with this being the key to u...s batting out our 40 overs and posting a very respectable total to defend of 9-239. Top scorers were Jotham Saward (63*), Kalon Nicholls (38), Rylee Popowski (27) and Zac Spinks (23). After a quick lunch break we set out to defend the total with some tight bowling but more importantly some sharp and high energy fielding. With our goal for the year to be the best fielding side in the competition everyone showed plenty of energy for the entire innings. Add some tight bowling from all of our bowlers and regular wickets this made it difficult for Devonport to keep up with the required run rate eventually finishing on 8-120 and 119 runs short. Pick of the bowlers were Jesse Haywood (3-23) and Solomon Tuxworth (1-6 off 5 overs) and Tait Ollington (1-15 off 4 overs). Not to be outdone though, the moment of the day belonged to Jakhan Wells who is in the running for catch of the year already with a horizontal dive, pulling in a one handed screamer to get the crowd and players pumping. A great team effort and game played in good spirits. Next week we are on the road again up to Acton to take on the Burnie Hurricanes.

05.01.2022 This week we head to the Ulverstone Cricket Club to play two T20 games. K Nicholls 4. Co Mallinson 5. R Popowski 6. Z Spinks 7. J Saward 8. S Tuxworth 9. T Ollington 10. J Wells 11. J Haywood 12. W Young See more

03.01.2022 Big opening bowler Zac Spinks is up next, towering at almost 6ft tall Zac opens up the bowling most weekends where he continues to bowl a consistent line and length. Zac bowls with nice pace for his age and he is quick to tell us he bowls faster than older brother Ben already who sends them down at a rapid pace also.

01.01.2022 Well what an exciting time for our Circular Head Under 15 Colts side. In what has been a close competition all year we finished the roster season 3rd on the ladder after suffering a defeat during the last game to Ulverstone. This meant we actually had to come back up against Ulverstone in the semi final at Ulverstone to secure a spot in the Grand final. Well the boys played an absolute ripper of a game securing a convincing win as we advanced to the big game. The good news ...also continued for the day with 4th place Wynyard securing a win of 1st place Sheffield meaning the Grand Final will be held at Stanley which is played this Sunday 8th March starting at 10am. So if you are looking to check out the future cricket talent of Circular Head, head down to Stanley at 10am on Sunday and support these boys who have travelled up and down the coast all year representing the community. Selected side, 1. Eli Bellinger (c) 2. Kade Hardy 3. Zac Spinks 4. Jotham Saward 5. Rylee Popowski 6. Tait Ollington 7. Solomon Tuxworth 8. Kalon Nicholls 9. Cooper Mallinson 10. Jakhan Wells 11.
