21.01.2022 An article that shows the worst effects of floods and fires. The process of restoring properties and buildings affected by these events is integral in getting life back to normal.

19.01.2022 Don’t decant and always label... the chance of a horrible outcome like this may seem unlikely but the end result is almost always horrific.

19.01.2022 The human brain is wired to see patterns to help us survive, Odell explains. Sensing patterns can save your life. Pattern processing became increasingly sophisticated with expansion of the cerebral cortex, particularly the prefrontal cortex and regions involved in image processing. However, this survival mechanism can end up running wild. As we evolved, the brain got so good at finding patterns that it sometimes sees a pattern in completely unconnected data.

17.01.2022 UPDATE: 4:25pm 29 January - Terrigal Lagoon has reopened for recreational activities, however it is advised not to swim for 3 days following rainfall. NOTICE T...O RESIDENTS: We have temporarily closed Terrigal Lagoon for swimming following a sewer overflow in the area. Council crews have been onsite, have contained the overflow and are working quickly to remediate the issue. Signage has been placed in the area but it is not yet known when the area will be reopened. We apologise for any inconvenience and will provide an update as soon as possible. With any blockage or overflow reported to us, our primary concern is the health and safety of the public and our environment. We follow strict procedures to contain and control, then investigate and remediate. Breaks and leaks will periodically occur across all sewer systems. We have crews on standby 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and we encourage the community to continue letting us know day or night about any sewer issues so we can resolve them quickly by calling 1300 463 954. #CCCWater

16.01.2022 The NSW Department of Housing refuses to properly remediate government owned homes infested with mould. The irony is that the mould growth arises from water damage/leaks that are the result of faulty/poor maintenance. Spending a few extra dollars on proper repairs and maintenance can save thousands on microbial restoration and remediation works.

12.01.2022 Science. Not politics, media or those with Google degrees... just science.

07.01.2022 It’s a lot more common than people realise. We need proper recognition of the health hazards and a homogenous adoption of the #IICRC Standards nationally. Increased awareness and recognition of the Restoration Industry would also help prevent the thousands of people who pay significant sums of money for work that doesn’t properly remove the problem or prevent reoccurrence.
